What do you expect when two experienced and popular artistes come face to face on screen ? In the past, we have seen such combinations through films like ‘Pinjara‘, ‘Sarkarnama‘, ‘Valu‘, ‘Deool‘, ‘Natasamrat‘ and many other films. With the presence of such versatile artistes, the director takes up the challenge to extract the best out of them, to present the best war of words between them. Now, in the forthcoming Marathi film, ‘Happy Birthday‘ the Marathi film lovers will witness one such pair in the form of ‘Shwaas‘ fame Arun Nalawade & ‘Ringan‘ fame Shashank Shende. Incidentally, both their films won National awards and therefore there are big expectations from their forthcoming film.

Happy Birthday‘ presents the story of a sixteen year old boy suffering from Thalassemia, a genetic blood disorder. Produced by Dilip Kolte , this film is directed by Narayan Gondal, who has presented his vision, giving cinematic form to this story. The film is all set to release on 24th November 2017.

Amruta Fadnavis is back as a singer in Marathi with ‘Pari Hoon Main’

Amruta Fadnavis, who made her debut as a singer in Marathi films through the film ‘Sangharshayatra‘, is back as a singer in Marathi, through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Pari Hoon Main‘. The song titled ‘Chandana Bilori Kalya…’ penned by Abhishek Khankar has been composed by music director Samir Saptiskar. According to the lyricist and music director, this lullaby style song which was recorded recently, needed the kind of voice and Amruta’s voice fitted into this requirement. Amruta Fadnavis too is full praise for this song and is confident that the audience would appreciate it.

According to the producers Dr.Rajendra Pratap Singh, Sheela Rajendra Singh and director Rohit Shilwant, this song presents the emotional bonding between mother and her daughter. The film stars Nandu Madhav, Devika Daftardar, Shruti Nigde, Flora Saini in lead roles. Bhavik Patel is the executive producer of this film, while Bhushan Savle is Project head.

Ajay Naik’s ‘Hostel Days’ to present Prarthana along with Aroh & Virajas

Having performed with popular actors like Swwapnil Joshi, Vaibhav Tatwavdi & Santosh Juvekar, gorgeous Marathi actress Prarthana Behere is all set to share the big screen with two young actors ‘Rege‘ fame Aroh Velankar and actress Mrunal Kulkarni‘s son Virajas Kulkarni. The name of their film is ‘Hostel Days‘, which is all set to release on 29th December 2017. Directed by Ajay Naik, the film will also present Akshay Tanksale and Sanjay Jadhav in pivotal roles. This film is set on the backdrop of hostel life during early 90s, when there were no mobile phones. So, you can imagine, how they must have communicated with each other.

Being presented by Shree Parshwa Productions and Twenty four Studios ‘Hostel Days‘ is produced by Subhash Bora, Chandan Gehlot and Harvinder Singh of Shree Parshwa Productions in association with Ajay Naik Productions. Speaking about his film, multi talented Ajay Naik says, “Hostel life has always had a special place in the memory of all those who have lived in a Hostel. And for those who couldn’t experience the Hostel Life ever, there has always been a fascination for it. The days spent in hostel always makes one nostalgic, while reminiscing those golden days of life“.

Marathi film ‘Dhingana’ to present four Bollywood Villains

Bollywood Villains or Vamps appearing in Marathi films in cameo roles is not new to Marathi films. But, their appearing together in a group is new to Marathi films.  Director Chandrakant Dudhgaonkar has tried this experiment in his forthcoming Marathi film ‘Dhingana’ where we will find four such Villains coming together. They are Avtaar Gill, Raza Murad,Shahbaaz Khan & Kunika. They will all be playing negative characters in ‘Dhingana’ which is all set to release on 8th December 2017.

Selecting these four artistes from Hindi in his Marathi film was the need of the script, feels producer Sameer Sadanand Patil. And hence, when director Chandrakant approached all four of them, they immediately said ‘yes’ to this offer.  Avtaar, Raza Murad, Shahbaaz & Kunika are playing the characters Mohananna, Anjanmama, Raja Bhaiya & Karishma respectively, who run a chit fund company. The film’s story is set on the backdrop of present realistic situation and has a social message. Priyadarshan Jadhav and Prajakta Hanamghar are playing lead roles in this fil. Camera by R.Girdharan and music by Amitraj & Shashank Powar are the other credits.

 

‘Redu’ does a hat trick of participation at International Film festivals

Director Sagar Vanjari’s film ‘Redu’ is in the news .This film has done a hat trick of participation at international film festivals. The film was first selected for screening at IFFI in Indian Panorama, followed by selection in Cairo and Kolkatta international film festivals. Produced by Naval Sarda  under the banner of Naval Films, the film stars Shashank shende, Chhaya Kadam, Gauri Konge, Vinam Bhabal, Mrunmayee Supal  in lead roles.

Both producer and director are making their debut through this film. But, they are confident that their film will be well accepted by the Marathi film lovers. The selection of their film at three international film festivals is itself a big achievement for them. In Kolkatta International film festival, ‘Redu’ is the only Marathi film selected for screening, while at Cairo International film festival in Egypt, this is the only Indian film selected for screening. Music by Vijay Narayan Gavande and cinematography by Mangesh Gadekar are the other credits of this film.

Comedy films in Marathi are always considered to be the ‘Tonic’ for the audience, who prefer entertainment, entertainment and only entertainment. Over the years, this formula has never failed, provided there is right treatment given in the screenplay. Now, director Rajesh Balkrishna Jadhav promises one such comedy film ‘Chalu Dya Tumcha‘ , which is produced by Pravin Madhukar Tayde, Vishal Vasant Vahurwagh and Amol Vasu. Recently, the music launch and trailer release ceremony of this film was held at Andheri, Mumbai in presence of the artistes, technicians, music team and special invitees.

There are four songs of different styles in ‘Chalu Dya Tumcha‘ film, composed by music directors Madhu Bhosale & Anurag-Chinmay. According to the makers of this film, they have presented a story to inspire the audience to look at life with a positive attitude. The director of the film has himself written the story and screenplay of ‘Chalu Dya Tumcha‘ film, while Sambhaji Sawant has written the dialogues. The film stars Milind Gunaji, Vijay Kadam, Sandeep Phatak, Nisha Parulekar, Megha Ghadge, Ajay Jadhav, Umesh Mitkari, Vaishali Chandorkar, Sudhir Sinha, Dipjyoti Naik, Kamal Aadib in lead roles along with guest artistes like Vijay Patkar , Jairaj Nair and others.

Marathi film makers have till now presented period films based on history. Now, one such film on a great warrior Kondaji Farzand in Maratha history will be presented on big screen through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Farzand‘ by director Digpal Lanjekar. It may be recalled that Kondaji Farzand along with Mavalas had successfully captured Fort Panhala. ‘Farzand‘ film will be released next year on 11th May 2018 all over Maharashtra. Recently, the first look poster of this film was unveiled by Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare.

Speaking on the occasion Shivshair Purandare said that this will be a grand historical war film which will educate the audience about the history of Marathas during the era of the great Kind Shivaji Maharaj. This will be the debut film of director Digpal Lanjekar, made under the banner of Swami Samarth Movies by producers Anirban Sarkar, Sandeep Jadhav, Mahesh Jaurkar & Swapnil Potdar.

Some film makers are confident about success of their films, much before their official release. Director Sandeep Bhalchandra Patil is one of them. For the past three years he was making the film ‘Dashakriya‘ and his efforts have already paid dividends, before release of this film. ‘Dashakriya‘ has already won three national awards, besides bagging some popular awards. Now, this film is all set for theatre release all over Maharashtra on 17th November 2017.

This is Sandeep Patil‘s debut film, but he is very confident that the audience would surely appreciate this film. Having gained considerable experience working with reputed directors of big and small screen. When Sandeep Patil wanted to make a film, he along with his friend Film PRO Ram Kondilkar launched a production company and went in search of story. He was very much inspired by Baba Bhand’s novel with the same name. Thereafter developing this story for cinematic format he approached Sanjay Krishnaji Patil and finally through him found a producer in Kalpana Vilas Kothari , who was also impressed with the story. According to Sandeep he has presented a sensible subject in an entertaining way.

A Woman’s fight against injustice is the most suitable theme in Marathi films. And, if such a theme is presented effectively in cinematic form, it will certainly inspire others. Shree Sadguru Film’s forthcoming Marathi film ‘Majha Yalghaar’‘ claims to have presented one such very effective theme under the direction of Milind Kamble. Produced by Saurabh Apte and presented by Shrikant Apte this film presents the story of a woman who fights against injustice in a village, where people live under blind faith.

The film has four songs of different types and rendered by popular singers like Adarsh Shinde, Aanandi Joshi, Saurabh Shete  & Avadhoot Gupte on the music of Saurabh – Durgesh.  Besides the new pair Aishwarya Rajesh & Yash kadam, the film also stars Swapnil Rajshekhar, Amol Redij, Archana Joshi, Rucha Apte, Vaidehi Patwardhan & Dr.Bhagwan Narkar. Film’s screen Dialogues are Chetan Kinjalkar,while cinematography by Umesh Pofle & editing by Nakul Prasad-Prajyot Pawaskar are other credits.

Ambarnath Film festival receives good response

Located at a distance of about 48 kms from Mumbai city, Ambernath has almost the same culture of Mumbai’s Dadar and Girgaon. People over here are more keen on watching Marathi plays and films. No wonder, this is the third year they organised Marathi Film Festival in a big way. This year, the festival began on 21st September with Yogesh Soman’s film ‘Majha Bhirbhir’ and concluded with Girish Mohite’s film ‘Sarvanaam’. The festival was possible due to efforts taken  by  Amber Bharari Oraganisation’s Sunil Choudhari and Chitrapat Mahamandal President Meghraj Bhosale.

This year there were 25 films and 50 short films screened during the period of festival at the auditorium of AAMA in Ambernath. Among the other films which were also screened at the festival were, ‘Natawanda’,’Mumbai Kinara’,’Sorry’,’Rairand’, Not a Breaking news’, Happy Birthday to You’, ‘Naraya’,’Dhuma’,’ Khopa’, Pratibha’,’ Vakya’,’ Bal Bhimrao’, ‘Braveheart’, Ganu’,’Trucker’ & others. Late Anand Abhyankar’s last film ‘Gadbad Gondhal’ was also screened at the festival, to pay tributes to him.
