Generally love stories begin much before marriage. But, this love story is different ! It begins after marriage with lots of fun. Those who have seen the popular Marathi Play ‘Nava Gadee Nava Rajya’; may be familiar with this plot. Now, director Sameer Vidwans and script writer Kshitij Patwardhan who were behind presenting this successful hit play, thought of converting it into cinematic format. So, with the help of Anish Joag of Pratisad Productions and Saurabh Gadgil of 24 Carat Entertainment, they made a film.

When the same film was shown to Sanjay Chabriya of Everest Entertainment,he was so impressed with the presentation that he agreed to distribute this film under his banner. In short, ‘Time please! Love Story Lagnanantarchi’ had captured Everest, to reach out to Marathi film audience. The first look of this film was organised today at Famous Studious, Mahalaxmi, in presence of main artistes of the film Umesh kamat, his real life and Screen wife Priya Bapat, Siddharth Jadhav along with Sameer Widwans, Kshitij Patwardhan, Hrishikesh Kamerkar, Anish Jog, Saurabh Gadgil & Sanjay Chabriya. Saie Tamhankar could not make it for this event.

“I was really impressed by the story of this film, which talks about the issues like ego, adjustments, insecurity, challenges and expectations that a newly married couple has to face. It’s the story that relates to the new lifestyle of all newly married couples. I even liked the presentation of the script, which is something new in Marathi films,” said Sanjay Chabriya, after presenting the first look before the media persons. In the cinematic format, the film has certainly taken some liberties to shoot the required outdoors and office atmosphere, to make the screenplay more interesting. So, after ‘Mi Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy’, ‘Shikshanachya Aaichha Gho’, ‘Hapus’, ‘Ideachi kalpana’ ,’Tukaram’ and ‘Aajcha Diwas Majha’,this is the seventh film Sanjay is distributing under his banner ‘Everst Entertainment’.

Sameer Widwans, who has already directed the hit play, said that he and script writer Kshitij Patwardhan had gone through two three drafts of the screenplay suited for this film, till deciding on the final draft. “We actually wanted all those who had seen the play, besides those who didn’t watch the play. So, we very much wanted to focus on the areas which were beyond the reach of theatre. Even Hrishikesh, who has composed the music of the play, tried to give a different look to the music. But, when we finalised the cast, besides the lead pair Umesh and Priya, we couldn’t think of anyone else, but Siddharth Jadhav,to play the role of Himmatrao. The same was the case with Saie Tamhankar. Others in the supporting cast are Vandana Gupte, Seema Deshmukh and Madhav Abhyankar,” he said.

Both Umesh and Priya were all excited to watch their first look and it was Umesh, who just kept on asking for ‘Once more’. Expressing their satisfaction, for the manner in which the cinematic form of their play was presented on screen; both felt that the film audience would be tempted to watch their play, after watching this film. “I still recall the memories of our first reading before the launch of our play; when we just couldn’t control our laughter. And now, when we read the film’s script together, we were almost in the same situation, reacted Priya, while narrating her experience.

Incidentally, shooting of this film and the shows of the play were going on simultaneously. And, that certainly inspired Priya while performing in few scenes of the drama. and, she did admit that. ‘Time Please! Love story Lagnanantarchi ’ is set to release on 26th July 2013,which also happens to be the release date of Rajiv Patil’s ‘72 miles’. “But ’s that not an issue. Subjects of both these films are different. In film industry, we can afford to release two films at a time. In the past ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Gadar’ were released simultaneously and both turned out to be hits. We only wish the same for both,” said Mr. Chabriya, before concluding this event.
