Vijay Chavan conferred with SKD Life Time Achievement award

Veteran Marathi actor Vijay Chavan known for his comedy roles on stage and screen, has been conferred with most prestigious Kalagaurav Life Time Achievement award by Sanskruti Kaladarpan( SKD) during their star studded annual awards function on Sunday. Reacting to this happy moment, Mr. Vijay Chavan, who is known for his humour filled speeches, said that this was his first Life Time Achievement award and thanked the organisers for considering him suitable for the same. “Now, I am expecting at least 9 more such awards in days to come, before retiring from this field” he added.

The award was presented to him by SKD Founder and President Mr. Chandrashekhar Sandve and Archana Nevrekar respectively, in presence of popular actress Smita Jaykar who is also associated with this group. Among the other popular awards presented on this occasion, Marathi drama ‘Code Mantra‘ and Marathi film ‘Ventilator‘ bagged maximum awards in different categories. In the television section serials ‘Saraswati‘ and ‘Duheri bagged the popular serial awards.

Television stars Titiksha Tawde and Chinmay Udgirkar anchored the show, while Sonalee Kulkarni and Manasi Naik entertained the audience with their special performances on the occasion.

Seven Marathi plays shortlisted for 17th SKD awards

Sanskruti Kaladarpan( SKD) Gaurav Rajani‘ is getting ready to present their awards in different categories such as Marathi films, plays and serials for the year 2017. This will be their 17th award function and this year, in Marathi plays section, seven plays have been shortlisted and their names are as follows:  Ekdant production’s ‘Sakhar Khallela Manus‘, Anamika Production’s ‘Code Mantra‘, Ved Production’s  ‘Ya Gojirvanya Gharaat‘, Avnish Production’s ‘Chhada‘, Jivhala Production’s ‘U Turn‘,  Suyog/Jhelu Production’s ‘Teen Payanchi Sharyat‘ & Ved Production’s ‘Ke Dil Abhi Bhara Nahin‘.

24 plays had taken part in the competition for SKD awards, from which these seven plays have been shortlisted. Ms. Kanchan Adhikari, Prajakta Kulkarni & Mr. Pramod Pawar were the judges, to shortlist the seven plays. The final round will be held at Yashwant Natyamandir between 8th and 10th April 2017. However, two of these seven plays, namely ‘U Turn‘ and ‘Teen Payanchi Sharyat‘ will not be shown during the final round, due to technical reasons. The plays during the final round will be presented at a concessional rates.

SKD founder Chandrashekhar Sandve and SKD president Archana Nevrekar have also announced that the names of 10 shortlisted Marathi films for the final competition, will be announced soon.

The 16th Sankruti Kaladarpan Annual awards for Marathi Films, television and Dramas were presented on Sunday evening, in presence of all prize winners, special invitees and media persons. There were some entertaining skits presented by the team of ‘Comedy Chi Bullet Train‘ a laughter show on TV. Some good dance performances were also presented by Pushkar Jog and Gashmir Mahajani.

Veteran actor Ashok Saraf was conferred with this year’s  Kalagaurav Award, while Nana Patekar and sachin Pilgaonkar received special honour awards for their respective performances in films ‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusali‘ and ‘Natsamrat‘. Though ‘Natsamrat‘ bagged the popular film’s award, ‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusali‘ bagged maximum awards. While ‘Deool Band‘ bagged best social film award, the award for the most impressive film of the year went to ‘Koti‘. The best actress award went to Medha Manjrekar, while the best actor’s award was shared by Sumeet Raghavan and Ankush Chaudhari.

In the drama section, the play ‘Don’t Worry be Happy’ was declared the best popular play of the year, while Girija Oak and Umesh Kamat were declared the best actress and best actor respectively. In the TV serial section Colors Marathi serial ‘Asa Sasar Surekh Bai‘ won the best serial of the year award, with the lead stars of this serial, Santosh Juvekar and Mrunal Dusanis winning the best actor and best actress awards.

On this occasion the organisers of SKD Chandrashekhar Sandve and Archana Nevrekar, donated Rs. 1 Lakh 61 thousand rupees cheque to NAAM Foundation, which was accepted by Makarand Anaspure.
