Versatile actress Sonali Kulkarni’s parents will be seen in her forthcoming film ‘Short and Sweet’. It so happened that Sonali Kulkarni’s mother and father had visited her during the shooting of her film ‘Short and Sweet’ in Pune. At that time, a scene was being shot in a bus. As Sonali’s parents were available there, the director of the film offered them an opportunity to act in that scene. And both of them agreed to do that scene willingly, as it was with their dear daughter.

Speaking about their first experience in front of the camera, her parents said that they were more than happy to work with their daughter. Even Sonali reacted stating that it was a great experience. The film is directed by Dinkar Kadam and besides Sonali the other lead artistes of this film are Harshad Atkari, Shridhar Vatsar and Rasika Sunil. Made under the banner of Shubham Productions and produced by Payal Ganesh Kadam and Vinod Rao, this film is all set for release on 3^rd November 2023.

Actress Shilpa Navalkar , who had turned a playwright with her Marathi play ‘Selfie‘ , has proved successful as a writer, as her play has presented 100 shows. But, the good news for her, is that the rights of this play have been purchased by Paritosh Painter, for its remake in Hindi and English. The English version of this play will be staged soon, which will be directed by Tanaaz Irani and will star Tanaaz Irani, Dimple Shah, Shweta Gulati, Priya Malik & Kiswar Merchant. Joy Singh Gupta has translated this play into English, but the subject of this play having an universal appeal, it can work in any language. The original Marathi play directed by Ajit Bhure, had staged this play in USA for almost one month. Now, the play ‘Selfie‘  will be nearing the mark of 125 shows.

Reacting to this good news, writer Shilpa Navalkar has expressed her happiness, over staging of her play in English. “I feel, all the people should watch this play” she said. It ,may be recalled that another Marathi writer Bharat Dabholkar has also been successful in English with his plays like ‘Bottoms Up‘, ‘Carry On Heaven‘ & ‘Blame It On Yashraj‘ . We only hope that Shilpa also follows his footsteps.
