Having received very good response to their earlier episodes, Planet Marathi have released the remaining episodes of ‘Athang‘ on their OTT platform. For the first time the makers of this web series have released the episodes in parts and this has helped them to generate curiosity among the viewers. This being a period series, it was challenging for the makers to create that era to meet the requirement of this mystery filled series surrounding around a villa.

Marathi Web Series ‘Athang’ which had invited the attention of home viewers with its first 2 episodes on Planet Marathi OTT platform, have now released the part 3 and 4 of their web series to generate more curiosity among the viewers. Now, all eyes on Raosaheb the main character taking his next decisions in his traditional mansion house filled with anxiety. Athang has a team of renowned talented artistes comprising of Sandeep Khare, Nivedita  Saraf,  Dhairya Gholap, Bhagyashree Milind, Urmila Kothare, Rutuja Bagwe, Deepak Kadam, Omprakash Shinde, Ketaki Narayan, Shashank Shende, Yogini Chouk and Rasika Vakharkar.

Presented by Akshay Bardapurkar of Planet Marathi, Produced by Tejaswini Pandit and Santosh Kher, this series is directed by Jayant Pawar. According to the director, he is overwhelmed by the response received for the first two episodes of this web series and assures that the next episodes will be more interesting while unveiling the mystery. Now days trailers of the Marathi films are launched in big ways to generate interest among the film lovers. Makers of Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Athang’ launched the trailer of their film also in a big way. They recreated the period of 1800 with all the artistes of this film along with Ashok Saraf, Director Abhijit Panse, Siddharth Jadhav, Sayali Sanjeev and Shreya Bugade dressed up in traditional attire. A specially erected horror filled set invited the attention of all the invitees.

Highlight of this event was the presence of MNS Chief Mr. Raj Thackeray who interacted with Producer Tejaswini Pandit in an interesting talk show. This talk show brought to the notice of the invitees Mr. Raj Thackeray’s  love for art. Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Raj Thackeray said, “ I came into politics accidentally. My first love was for art. I am a film lover. And, I see web series very rarely. But, I will surely watch ‘Athang’. It is really challenging to show the olden period on screen. And, you have accepted this challenge.”

The trailer of this film clearly gives a glimpse of picturesque Konkan, the mystery filled house and the suspense generated inside that big house. Starring Sandeep Khare, Nivedita Saraf, Bhagyashri Milind, Urmila Kothare, Rutuja Bagve, Deepak Kadam,Omprakash Shinde, Ketki Narayan, Shashank Shende, Yogini Chouk, Rasika Vakharkar and Dhairya Gholap in lead roles, this web series presented by Akshay Bardapurkar will be released on Planet Marathi OTT platform on 25^th November 2022.

He has been in the acting field since 1984. As a child artist, he  began his acting career with the film ‘Hum Bachhe Hindustan Ke’, followed by a memorable roles  in ‘Saraswatichandra’ fame director Govind Saraiya’s film ‘Waqt Se Pahele’ and B.R.Ishara’s film ‘Anumati’. Later, when he appeared in Hindi serial ‘Campus’, Milind Gawali earned name and fame as an actor. Later, he appeared in several Hindi and Marathi serials, connecting well with the home viewers.

While doing TV serials, Milind Gawali was also flooded with offers from Marathi films and he began with V.K.Naik’s ‘Khel Nashibache’, followed by ‘Suun Ladaki Sasarchi’ for the same film maker. Then, it was Satish Randive’s ‘Nilambari’ and Mahesh Manjrekar’s ‘Aai’. He also performed in Priyadarashan’s Malyalam film ‘Aryan’. His roles in films like ‘Maratha Batalion’, ‘Devki’ & ‘Vitthal Vitthal’ turned out to be hit. Later, he performed in about 40 rural based films, becoming a popular hero in Western Maharashtra. Many of his films were women oriented, thus becoming favourite of many female audience.

But, after performing in so many films, Milind’s dream was to produce his own film. And, when he found a suitable script, he went ahead by directing it himself, using all his experience in this field. Now, his film ‘Athang’ also on a woman oriented subject is ready and is all set to release on 29^th January 2016, when Milind will see his dream come true. Milind Gawali himself is playing an important role of a doctor with other known artistes like Smita Shewale, Tanvi Hegde, Pooja Nayak, Mausumi Hadkar and others. Every actor has an ambition to produce and direct his own film one day. Popular Marathi actor Milind Gawali , known for his rural based films, has performed in about 100 films.  Now, he is  all excited to release his own film ‘Athang’.  Milind will play three different roles through his dream project. He has not only performed in this film; but has produced and directed it.

Through ‘Athang’, Milind has presented the story of a talented orphan girl Shilpa and her struggle in life. One fine day, she gets a Rose in gift and her life changes. Actually, this is a complicated tale; but Milind claims that he has tried to give justice to this story. The main artistes  in the film are, Tanvi Hegde, Smita Shewale, Milind Gavali, Amit Dolawat, Pooja Nayak, Bhooshan Ghadi, Mouisami hadkar, Shital Gaikwad & child artiste Karishma Patade.

Music by Pandit Sharang Dev and Cinematography by Aniket K. Are other credits of the film.
