Till now, Marathi film makers have offered a variety of subjects but very few have dealt with Sc Fi films. Now, forthcoming Marathi film ‘Ajooni’ has an interesting Sc-Fi subject to offer, presenting people from other planet. Will it be on the lines of ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ or ‘Aliens’ style of Hollywood films, one never knows. But, one thing is certain that this film has a lot of curiosity about its subject.

Having earlier directed films like ‘Sangharshyatra’ and ‘Shivya’, this is Sakar Raut‘s new film through which he handles a unique theme in Marathi cinema. Produced by Arth Studios and Sara Motion Pictures, the teaser of this film was launched recently on social media. However, Marathi film lovers are still curious to know, as to who will be playing the person from other planet. The film stars Piyush Ranade, Pranav Raorane, Shweta Vengurlekar, Pratik Deshmukh in lead roles.

‘Life begins at the end of ur comfort zone..’ that’s what Piyush Vibhas Ranade had said on his social networking page few days ago. But, last week he had created a suspense regarding announcement of his new Marathi film’s name. Today at 10 am he raised the curtain by disclosing the name of his next Marathi film as ‘Ajooni’ with a tagline ‘Not Bound by birth or death’. The poster of this film has also been uploaded by him.

Produced and directed by Sakar Raut, whose earlier films were ‘Shivya’ and ‘Sangharshyatra’, this film is supposed to be a film on a different subject. Piyush who has found this important role in the film ‘Ajuni’ is also excited about his character, having earlier played popular characters in Marathi TV serials. Therefore, for him this film is very important. The poster of this film also has to say a lot  about the genre of this film. The film is Presented by Arth Studioz and Sara Motion Pictures .

‘As you sow, so shall you reap’. If the head of the house uses bad words in regular conversation, how can you expect his children to speak without abuses, when they grow older? Based on this theme, writer director Sakar Raut has presented the latest Marathi film ‘Shivya‘, the title of which clearly indicates the intention of making this film. So, in this film, we initially find Mr.Raghunath Sardesai( Vidyadhar Joshi) uttering bad language while speaking over phone with his colleague. In comes his wife ( Shubhangi Latkar), who intervenes and suggests him to stop using bad words and tells him that his son imitates him, using bad words against his teacher.

When the son becomes a young man Raghav ( Bhushan Pradhan) , he is advised by his girlfriend Sharayu ( Sanskruti Balgude) , to desist from using bad language. In short, no woman like men using bad words, no matter under what circumstances. Raghav tries his best, but is not able to control his tongue. And, this lands him into trouble, as he uses bad words, while encountering Sharayu’s father. His close friend suggests him to use alternate words for such bad words. When Raghav is in the process controlling himself, a typical villain in the form of Vikram Sarpotdar( Piyush Ranade) appears in the story, to play predictable gimmicks to come in the way of Raghav and Sharayu.

With about 90 minutes of screenplay pushing this casual entertainer, it’s ‘all is well’ at the end. There is nothing very special in ‘Shivya‘ film, to write about, except for good performances by Bhushan, Sanskruti, Piyush and Shubhangi Latkar. Barring very few scenes, the other scenes have failed to create desired impact, as the makers of ‘Shivya‘ film have taken the liberty to use many bad words openly, as through the tag line of the film they clearly state that everybody uses bad words. But, all will not agree, especially the women folks. Music of the film is not very impressive and that is the biggest weakness of this film.

Originally a stage artiste, Piyush Ranade is very comfortable while playing any kind of character on small or big screen. Till now, he has performed variety of roles on Marathi and Hindi television. But, Piyush Ranade came into prominence through Marathi serial ‘Lajja‘ in which he played a prominent role of Inspector Aakash in that women oriented serial. Piyush did perform in few Marathi films, but, he is yet to find a prominent role. However, he prefers to wait for the same.

Recently, MarathiMovieWorld spoke to Piyush, during the trailer launch of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Laal Ishq‘. He seemed to be excited, because he was part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first Marathi film. ” Yes, I was extremely delighted, when director of this film Swapna Waghmare Joshi, offered me an important role in this film. She had seen my work on television and knows me well. It was so nice of her, to think about me, to be part of this film,” he said.

We did ask Piyush, whether being the tallest actor, comes in the way of finding suitable roles in Marathi films, he said, “Yes, sometimes, it does come in the way of finding suitable roles. But, today, Marathi cinema is changing and story of the film, plays the most important role. So, there are big hopes for actors like me and I am ready to wait for my time,” he concluded.
