Anandibai Gopalrao Joshi  was one of the earliest Indian woman physicians in the 19th century, when India was under British rule. She was the first woman who graduated with a two-year degree in western medicine in the United States. Now, a biopic on her has been presented through latest released Marathi film ‘Anandi Gopal’. Anandibai as she was addressed by the American Medical College during the convocation, lived a very short life of 22 years. But, she inspired many young Indian women to pursue higher studies, at a time when the male dominant society did not permit their daughters to pursue higher studies . Anandi made it possible, only because of the encouragement from her husband Gopalrao, who was a reformer and served in the postal department.

The film ‘Anandi Gopal’ directed by Sameer Vidwans presents Bhagyashree Milind & Lalit Prabhakar in title roles. Though the film is based on a real story, the manner in which the screenplay and dialogues have been written, it does create a strong impact on the audience. The hurdles faced by Gopalrao from his hometown, while educating his younger wife, clearly shows how women were treated during 19th century. The film covers the period around 1880, when Yamuna who turns Anandi after her marriage to a widower Gopalrao, who believes in offering education to women.

In spite of facing the opposition from the neighbourhood and his own community, Gopalrao first sends his wife to a Christian missionary school. But, when she faces trouble there too, he decides to send her abroad for higher education. After cleverly showing the strengths of these two lead characters in the first half of the film, very systematically director Sameer Vidwans has presented the sequence of events in the second half to show Anandi’s impressive success story. There are many emotion filled scenes which touch the heart of the audience. Moreover, few important scenes are also likely to appeal the universal audience and therefore the film certainly stands a chance to find its entry from India for the prestigious Oscars.

The technical departments makes it presentable giving a realistic look to this period film, with superb cinematography by Akash Agarwal & Apoorva Shaligram. Certainly a worth watch film for all sensible film lovers.

Bhagyashree Milind (Bhagyashree Shankpal) plays the title role of this film in the company of Lalit Prabhakar who plays her dear encouraging husband. The film also stars Geetanjali Kulkarni, Kshiti Jog, Yogesh Soman, child artiste Ankita Goswami & Atharva Kulkarni. The film is presented by Zee Studios and directed by Sameer Vidwans. Recently, the music release of this film was held when music director trio Hrishikesh- Saurabh and Jasraj Joshi were present. They have composed total five songs for this film.The film is due for release on 15th February 2019.

Now, looking at these two films, it is clearly understood that both the films are targeting on different types of audience. While ‘Mala Kahich Problem Nahi’ will invite the attention of young audience, ‘Kachha Limbu’ will invite the attention of audience, who would appreciate the subject, besides the performances of the artistes. Many a times, we find the lead character of the film missing during the music or trailer launch of Marathi films. This was observed during the trailer launch of forthcoming Marathi film ‘YZ‘. In absence of Akshay Tanksale, one of the lead actors, his cut out was displayed at the venue, to indicate his presence during the group photographs with other lead artistes. By the way, Akshay was shooting in London for another film and hence could not make it for this function.

But, during this trailer launch all others connected with ‘YZ‘ film , right from producers Sanjay Chhabriya, Anish Jog, writer Kshitij Patwardhan & director Sameer Vidwans to artistes Sagar Deshmukh, Saii Tamhankar, Mukta Barve, Parna Pethe were present. The trailer of this film clearly indicated that each one of the artistes were playing variety of characters, with a big surprise coming from Saii Tamhankar, who is playing the character of a simple looking bespectacled god fearing woman. Mukta Barve is playing a mod girl, while Parna Pethe plays an unusual character of a Mod girl, who is studying Sanskrit.

The film has already raised curiosity over its title. Now, it remains to be seen, how it defines its title, when the film is released on 12^th August 2016.

‘मौनांतर २०१६‘ या मूकनाट्य स्पर्धेत ‘व्यक्ती पुणे‘ या संस्थेच्या ‘घनदाट‘ मूकनाट्याने प्रथम क्रमांक मिळविला . पीव्हीजी सीओईटी, पुणेच्या ‘खिचीक्’ला द्वीतीय क्रमांक तर ‘संवर्धन संस्थे‘च्या ‘संगत‘ने तृतीय क्रमांकाचे पारितोषिक मिळविले.
या स्पर्धेचा पारितोषिक वितरण समारंभ काल , १८ जुलै रोजी सायंकाळी भरत नाट्य मंदिर येथे क्षितीज पटवर्धन, समीर विद्वांस, अनीश जोग यांच्या हस्ते झाला. कुशल खोत ,सुनील चांदोरकर ,प्रदीप वैद्य ,डॉ दीपक मांडे ,श्री भैरव ,तसेच ‘वाय झेड ‘ मराठी सिनेमाची टीम या पारितोषिक वितरण समारंभाला उपस्थित होती

भरत नाट्य मंदिर येथे या स्पर्धेचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. ‘ड्रीम्स टू रिअ‍ॅलिटी‘ आणि ‘रंगीत तालिम‘, ‘ऐलान ‘ या पुण्यातील संस्थांच्या वतीने या मूकनाट्य स्पर्धेचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. एकूण २० संघ या स्पर्धेत सहभागी झाले होते . स्पर्धेचे हे तिसरे वर्ष होते. अभिनेत्री देविका दफ्तरदार, अभिनेता गिरीश परदेशी हे या स्पर्धेचे परीक्षक होते . ढेपे वाडा , कैलास जीवन यांच्या सहकार्याने ही स्पर्धा पार पडली.

शहरी जीवनातील शौचालयाची समस्या, कुचंबणा ‘व्यक्ती पुणे‘ च्या या ‘घनदाट‘ मूकनाट्यात मांडलेली आहे. मिथुनचंद्र चौधरी लिखित या मूकनाट्याचे दिग्दर्शन सुयश झुंजूरके यांनी केले आहे. आदीत्य बिडकर, महेंद्र मारणे, साहिल जाधव, वैभव पांडव, तेजश्री शिलेदार, अथर्व कानगुडे यांच्यासह २० जणांचा समावेश ‘घनदाट‘ मूकनाट्यात आहे. घनदाटमध्ये प्रकाश योजना सुयश झुंजूरके यांची असून, किरण ढमाले आणि विराज देशपांडे यांनी संगीत दिले आहे.

यावेळी बोलताना परीक्षक गिरीश परदेशी म्हणाले , “मराठी साहित्य समृद्ध असून मूक नाटकातून कविता ,हायकू ,कथा असे मराठी साहित्य दिसण्याची गरज आहे . त्यासाठी नव्या पिढीने वाचनावर भर द्यावा ‘असे प्रतिपादन स्पर्धेचे परीक्षक गिरीश परदेशी यांनी केले . मूक नाट्य सादर करताना ‘शांतता ‘-सायलेन्स ‘ चा वापर अधिक व्हावा ‘. लाईट्स चे वैविध्य ,रंगांचे वैविध्य उपयोगात आणले जावे . संगीताचा प्रभावी वापर हेही मूक नाट्याचे बल स्थान ठरते “असा सल्लाही त्यांनी दिला.

We have seen two popular Marathi actresses coming together. But, forthcoming Marathi film ‘YZ‘ will present popular actress Mukta Barve not only with Sai Tamhankar; but also with ‘Rama Madhav‘ fame Parna Pethe. All three of them will be seen together, for the first time. Director Sameer Vidwans has succeeded in bringing three of them together, to present female versions of his male dominated film. Though Sagar Deshmukh and Akshay Tanksale play the lead male roles, the three actresses have equally important characters.

According to the director, all three of them have different types of roles , which will be appreciated by Marathi film lovers. While Mukta is playing an ultra modern girl, Sai is playing a totally contrast character of a simple girl. The character of Parna is playing a modern girl, learning Sanskrit language.
