The year 2019 had not seen grand success of any Marathi film till 28^th June, the day Milind Kavade’s film ‘Takatak’ was released. This film broke all the records as far as the box office was concerned with unprecedented success , in and around that year. Actually, this adult comedy saw the light of the day, during that phase. The memories of film’s release and subsequent success are still fresh in the memory of the entire team of ‘Takatak’.

Recently, this entire team including Prathamesh Parab recalled and celebrated the happy occasion in a grand way, by cutting a cake. The artistes of this film and producers were present in happy mood. Speaking on this occasion Says Writer-director Milind Kavde said,  “The biggest success that the film managed to achieve is the love it received from all the audience. The actors do their job on the screen while we perform behind the stage in the background but not many are aware of the contribution of the people who work behind the scene but Takatak success reinforced the belief.”

Coinciding with this success party, now Takatak 2 is all set to be released on 18 August 2022.

This clearly indicates that Prathamesh has played this character in such a way that wherever he has gone after the release of this film, he has been called with the name ‘Thokya’. Speaking about this new identity, Prathamesh says, “Whether it is Vishu, Dagadu or Thokya, the credit for these roles go to writers and directors of these three films. All the youngsters feel that they should have a friend like ‘Thokya’ played by me in this film. And this is a good compliment for this character. Actually, Thokya is the real hero of this film, but he has not behaved like a hero through this character and that is the reason behind this character’s popularity.”

According to the makers, the highlight of this film is its content which has a lot of mischief and fun, well suited to the youth. Also the chemistry between the lead pair of Prathamesh Parab and Ritika Shrotri has been liked by the audience.The new pair of Abhijeet Aamkar and Pranali Bhalerao has also impressed the with their performances. Supporting actors like Bharat Ganeshpure, Pradeep Patwardhan and Ananda Karekar have also rendered good performances in the film which has helped this film to attain new heights.

Sameer Dixit and Hrishikesh Bhirangi of Pickle Entertainment and Purple Bull Entertainment who handled the task of distribution of the film, successfully managed to get over 450 screens with over 6000 shows. Distributor Sameer Dixit says, “Like in Hindi Cinema where different territories are sold, for the first time in Marathi Cinema, the territory of Nizam (Marathawada) has been sold for ‘Takatak’ even before the release of the film.”

According to the makers, The USP of the film ‘Takatak’ is that the right type of artistes have been cast with suitable roles. Prathamesh Parab, Ritika Shrotri will be seen together in the film for the first time in the film and the trailer has raised the expectations from the film.
