After ‘Dagadi Chawl’, now it’s ‘Dagdabaichi Chawl’

The chawl culture seems to be the favorite subject of Marathi film makers. Recently, we saw a Marathi film ‘Double Seat’, which was based on typical chawl culture of Mumbai. Then last week, we saw the release of ‘Dagadi Chawl’ presenting the gang-war and love story, on the backdrop of chawl culture in south central Mumbai. And, now, we find one more film ‘Dagdabaichi Chawl’, also set on the backdrop of Mumbai’s chawl culture and people living there.

Produced by Dattatray Hingane & directed by Sunil Waikar, the music and first look of this film was unveiled recently, in presence of entire star cast of the film and media persons. Story and screenplay of this film is written by director himself, while dialogues are written by Abhijit Pendharkar. The trio comprising of Kedar, Ajay & Adwait have composed the music of this film, while prominent singers from Marathi film industry have rendered their voices for the songs in this film.

This is a comedy film which revolves around a kind hearted lady landlord of a chawl and how the tenants living there, take undue advantage of her good nature. The film stars Vishakha Subhedar , Rajpal Yadav , Sangram Salvi, Shweta Pagar, Bhushan kadu, Mohini Kulkarni, Kamlakar Satpute, Kishore Chougule, Madhavi Juvekar, Sunil Godbole, Jhony Rawat, Prashant Tapasvi & Santosh Chordia.

The major attraction of this film is that Bollywood comedian Rajpal Yadav is making his debut in Marathi, through this film, playing the character of Jilebiwala Bhaiyya.
