New Marathi play ‘Mukkam Post Pandharpur’ announced
Recently, on the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, a new Marathi play ‘Mukkam Post Pandharpur’ was announced. The first poster of this play itself generates a lot of curiosity among the devotees of Lord Vitthal. The tagline of the film which says that the road to Pandharpur never ends , it stars with every new step. But, the poster of this play says it all.
This play is directed by Ashutosh Popat Jare and is produced by Dr. Umesh Ajgaonkar, Nitin Prakash Vaidya, Sachin Subhash Awasthi and Swati Dive Mukherjee. According to the makers of this play, this will be a grand creation , which will connect with the emotions and faith of the audience.
Very soon this play will be presented on Marathi stage and there are big expectations from the audience, who are eagerly waiting for its official release.
Smita Tambe to play Central character in ‘Dhadpad’
Renowned Marathi actress Smita Tamble, who has given memorable performances in the past, through various award winning films, will now be playing a central character in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Dhadpad’. This film revolves around the struggle of a woman, to give stability to her family, by shouldering responsibilities, as her husband’s bad deeds bring poverty.
The shooting of this film is going on at a suitable location ideal for film’s script. in Gomewadi in Atpadi Taluka. Produced by Bodhi Cinema and Ashwini Samadhan Aivale the script of this film is based on the story of Balaji Waghmode. Abhishek Javir who in the recent past directed film ‘Fula’ will be directing this film. Creative director is Anup Jagdale and Cameraman is Veerdhaval Patil.
Besides Smita Tambe the film also stars Kishore Chougule, Kushal Badrike, Parth Bhalerao, Monalisa Bagal, AshwiniKasar, Prabhakar More and Rohit Cghavan in lead roles. According to he director, this film will offer something good to the audience.
World Premiere of Marathi Film ‘Undocumented.pdf’ at NAFA Film Festival 2026
Against the backdrop of ongoing national debate surrounding recent actions by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), NAFA Films is set to premiere its latest short film, Undocumented.PDF, at the NAFA Film Festival 2026. Produced in Marathi with English subtitles, the film will have its World Premiere on August 9, 2026, at 3:00 PM in San Jose, California.
Written by California-based author Amruta Hardikar and directed by Houston-based filmmaker Harsh Mahadeshwar, ‘Undocumented.PDF’ presents a compelling and deeply human narrative inspired by the realities of immigration. The film is produced by U.S. Congressman Shri Thanedar and Abhijit (Abhi) Gholap, Founder and President of the North American Film Association (NAFA).
The project was coordinated and executed on behalf of NAFA by Executive Committee Member Bhalchandra Kulkarni, while Amol Thite and Govind Unkalkar, both based in California, serve as co-producers.
Commenting on the film, producer Abhijit (Abhi) Gholap said: “Undocumented.PDF is not merely a film about immigration—it is a story about identity, belonging, dignity, and hope. We are all aware that forthcoming Marathi film ‘Samarth’ is based on the teachings of Samarth Ramdas Swami and how it will help binding the relations between two generations. Kranti Redkar Wankhede announces her new film ‘Maitreya’
Known for her previous sensible film ‘Kakan’, Writer- Director Kranti Redkar Wankhede is back with her new Marathi film ‘Maitreya’ which is produced by Manoj Khatalkar. The new subject presented by Kranti through this film revolves around the friendship of four characters played by Samar, Aayushi, Sky and Ruchi.
According to Kranti Redkar Wankhede , ‘Maitreya’ is a story of friendship in everyone’s life. Friendship is one such thing which remains permanently in our memory, even with change of time. She seems to be happy to present this new subject after a sensible film ‘Kakan’, which was well appreciated.

Priyadarshan Jadhav to play an unusual character
For the past 25 years he has been entertaining Marathi audience through television and films. He has also presented shows. Till now he has performed in about 25 films and seven television shows and has also won best supporting actor’s Zee Gaurav award for best supporting actor in the year 2017. Some of his best performances were noticed in films like ‘Time Pass 2′,’ Jai Maharashtra Dhaba Bhatinda’,’ Halaal’, ‘Hampi’ and ‘Dhurala’.
Now, Priyadarshan is all set to show his skills through the character of Mayaa, in forthcoming horror- comedy film ‘Bhootam Bhayam’. His unusual character is expected to keep the audience guessing about his every move in the film. According to Priyadarshan, he was happy to be part of this film, playing such a character filled with mystery. So, he accepted this challenging role, after hearing the script.

Five Marathi films to be premiered at NAFA Festival
Five new Marathi films will be premiered at the forthcoming North American Film Association ( NAFA) Festival which will be held between 7th and 9th August 2026 at San Jose in California, USA. This festival is being organised in association with Maharashtra Government.
The five films to be premiered at this festival are, ‘Tu Mee aani Amaira’ , ‘Na Avadati Goshta’, ‘Dwidhaa’, ‘Paro’ and ‘Frame’. Besides these five films 11 award winning short films will also be screened at this festival. All these films are on variety of subjects to create awareness about various issues related to human relations. Among these selected short films, ‘Undocumented.pdf’ will be the main attraction, as it throws light on recent social sensitive issue of immigration. This film is produced by NAFA.
According to the organisers of this film festival, this event will help to promote the Maharashtrian culture worldwide through cinema.
‘Bhootam Bhayam’ will bank on scary locations
There is a lot of curiosity among the film lovers about the forthcoming Marathi Horror –Comedy ‘Bhootam Bhayam’ which is to be released in theatres on 24th July 2026. Presented by Zee Studios, produced by Kayara Kumar Creations and written & directed by Ramachandra Arun Gaonkar, this film will bank upon the scary locations, where the shooting of the film took place.
According to the artistes of this film, these locations chosen at quiet deserted places were so scary that even after the shooting got over, they never dared to move alone. Poster of ‘Samarth’ unveiled in presence of thousands of children
Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Samarth’, which is based on the teachings of Samarth Ramdas Swami is all set for release in August 2026. Recently, the grand ceremony of the unveiling of the poster of this film was held in Dnyanprabodhini Prashala at Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune in presence of 2500 students .
On this occasion, the students presented demonstration of Suryanamaskaras and recited 13 Manache Shlok to pay tributes to the teachings of Samarth Ramdas Swami.Present on this occasion was Mr. Balasaheb Swami, head of Shree Samarth Ramdas Swami Sansthan, Sajjangad. Speaking about the importance of this film Writer Ravindra Pathak said “Ramdas Swami was not just a big name in history, but his teachings are more relevant to today’s new generation.”
