Film Journalist Dilip Thakur conferred with Pratibha Sanman Puraskar
Well Known senior film journalist Dilip Thakur was among the ten renowned personalities from different fields in Mumbai, who were conferred with Pratibha Sanman Puraskar recently, at Prabodhankar Thackeray Mini Theatre in Borivali.
Dilip Thakur was presented with this award for his contribution to Film Journalism, especially in Marathi media for the past 44 years, beginning fron Newspaper Nava Shakti.
After taking early retirement fron NavaShakti, Dilip worked as a freelance Film Journalist more effectively and is today considered to be the most knowledgeble film Journalist. He has written about 50 books on Film industry and film artistes. In his small and effective speech, he thanked the organisers for selecting him for this award and also all those who motivated him in his journey in film industry.
Organised by Mr. Girish Vasant Trivedi , Editor of Aahuti Weekly and presented by Mr. Pradeep Malankar of Girgaon Katta, these Pratibha Sanmaan Puraskars were presented to ten renowned personalities in a well organised function very systematically with perfect Audio Visual presentation of each of the awardees and their work.
Ms. Shubhada Varadkar, renowned Odissi Nrityaguru and recipient of this year’s Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, was the Chief guest for this function and presented the awards. Besides Dilip Thakur, the other award winners were, Nayana Rege ( Teaching Profession), Dr. Sarita Wakude ( Research Scholar), Narayan Pagdhare ( Newspaper / Magazine distributor from Borivali) ,Raju Desai ( Well Known Speaker on ShivCharitra),Yogesh Vasant Trivedi ( Aahuti Publication), Ravi Malya ( Writer), Shripad Rajguru ( Tabla artist), Anil Gurav ( Acting), Shekhar Waradkar (Promotion of the game of Cricket and Social work) & Ajay Tari( Multi talented Photographer).
Renowned actor Nana Patekar is no more
The 8th October morning brought a very sad news . It was shocking! But, it turned out to be true. The ‘Krantiveer’ and ‘Natasamrat’ of Hindi and Marathi films, Nana Patekar was no more. According to reliable sources he passed away early hours of the morning due to cardiac failure. He was 75. He is survived by his wife Neelakanti and son Malhar.
Vishwanath Patekar popularly known as Nana Patekar was conferred with Padma shri award and had also won 3 National and four filmfare awards for his performance in films over the years. Though he started performing in films n 1978, he actually shot into fame with N.Chandra’s film ‘Ankush’. Thereafter, there was no stopping for him and he received roles suited to him in films like ‘Pratighaat’, ’Andha Yudh’, Parinda’,’ Prahaar’, ’Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman’,’ Apharan’ ,’ Tirangaa’,’ Krantiveer’ , ‘Agni Sakshi’ Ghulam E Mustafa’,’Kohraam’,’ ‘Yashwant’,’ ‘Rajneeti’,’ Taxi no. 9211’ ‘Ab Tak Chhappan’, ‘Vaccine War’ and so on.
In Marathi he did two memorable films ‘Dr. Prakash Baba Amte’ and ‘Natasamrat’ . Many top personalities have expressed their grief , after hearing about his sudden death. Nana will be cremated with full state honours around 7 pm today, at his farmhouse in Donaje near Pune.
Madhuri Dixit will host ‘Kon Honaar Crorepati’ on Sony Liv
Legendary film actress Madhuri Dixit will host the upcoming Marathi Quiz based programme ‘Kon Honaar Crorepati’ on Sony Liv from 12th October 2026. This show will be aired @ 9 pm from Monday to Friday and besides Sony Liv channel it will also be aired on Sony Marathi channel.
It may be recalled that the previous editions of this Marathi Quiz based show were hosted by Sachin Khedekar and Nagraj Manjule. Now, with Madhuri Dixit taking over as the host of this new edition, her well wishers and admirers are happy to see her in this new role. Madhuri being a versatile actress, is also expected to make this show more interesting displaying her communication skills.
‘Aadi Anant’ first poster unveiled
Ashok Saraf, Sankarshan Karhade in Aadi Anant
Legendary actor Ashok Saraf will be playing the lead role along with Sankarshan Karhade and Sakkhi Gokhale in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Aadi Anant’. First poster of this film was recently unveiled with an announcement that this film will be released in theatres on 12th November.
Lead actor Sankarshan Karhade , who has also written the story screenplay and dialogues of this film, is excited that this is his first film with legendary Ashok Saraf. He is confident that his story will be well accepted by film lovers, because it is the film for all generations. This film is directed by DOP Mahesh Limaye.

Marathi Play ‘Shubham Karoti’ promises a perfect family drama
New Marathi play ‘Shubham Karoti’ which has now been released with its inaugural show at Yashwant Natya Mandir, Matunga, has promised a perfect family drama suited to all age groups. The play talks about the dreams of children and expectations from parents in a middle class Marathi family and therefore has been described by its makers in simple words, “ It is not a home within the drama… but, a drama noticed in all families.”
Presented by Rawtekar, produced by Blue Ramp Entertainment, Nitin Vaidya Productions and Sargam Creations, directed by Bhagyesh Ranade, ‘Shubham Karoti’ is written by Vaibhav Joshi. According to director Bhagyesh Ranade, though this play revolves around one family, it relates to all families. This play stars Abhinay Berde, Apoorva Gore, Seema Deshmukh and Hrishikesh Joshi in lead roles.
Siddharth Jadhav in and as ‘Bajrangi ‘
Popular actor Siddharth Jadhav will play title role in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Bajarangi’. Poster of this film was released recently, with the huge idol of Lord Hanuman and a youngster standing in front of this idol with orange cloth in his hand. In the background you find golden light spread across with a fort and top of it an orange flag , giving a perfect cinematic look to this poster.
After looking at this poster, there are several thoughts coming to your mind about the connection between this young man and his connection with Lord Hanuman. Even the makers of this film haven’t revealed much about the film’s subject, except for disclosing that Siddharth Jadhav will play the lead role. This film’s story is written by Hemant Edalabadkar and is directed by Tejas Lokhande.
According to director Tejas Lokhande, instead of revealing much about the story of this film, they have tried to generate curiosity about the film.
Interestingly, this is not Siddharth Jadhav’s first association with a story inspired by Lord Hanuman. He had earlier played a key role in the Marathi film ‘Huppa Huiya’, which was based on the character of Hanuman and blended mythology with an entertaining cinematic narrative. His association with such a subject makes his casting in ‘Bajarangi’ particularly intriguing. However, unlike ‘Huppa Huiya’, the makers of ‘Bajarangi’ have so far maintained secrecy around the nature of his character and the film’s storyline. This has added another layer of curiosity around the project, with audiences now waiting to discover what Siddharth Jadhav’s character has to do with the powerful imagery of Lord Hanuman seen in the first poster.
‘Miranda Warning’ to present Adinath Kothare as Police Officer
Adinath Kothare will carry forward the family tradition by playing a Police Officer in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Miranda Warning’, which will be murder mystery film filled with suspense. Produced and directed by Sachin Dhotre, the story of this thriller is written by Ravindra Mathadhikari and Sayali Mathadhikari. This will be presented by Sushilkumar Agrawal of Ultra Media Entertainment and Kalpak Joshi of Sukalp Chitra.
Sachin Dhotre had earlier directed 2023 film ‘Get-together’ and this time he has attempted a new experiment through this mystery filled film. Recently, poster of this film was also launched on social media. The makers of this film have assured best star cast through this film , along with Adinath Kothare. And this film will be released all over Maharashtra on 27th November 2026.
Adinath Kothare has been part of Marathi and Hindi cinema for several years and has taken up varied roles as an actor as well as a filmmaker. He is known for choosing characters that offer him scope to explore different shades of performance. With ‘Miranda Warning’, he will be seen in a rugged police officer’s avatar, adding a new dimension to his screen presence. The story revolves around a murder that takes place at a farmhouse, following which the investigation takes several unexpected turns. The film promises to take the audience through a suspenseful search for the truth, with mystery and investigation forming the core of its narrative.
Marathi film ‘Gondhal’ is India’s official entry for Oscars
In spite of tough competition from other Indian films, Marathi film ‘Gondhal’ has been selected as India’s official entry for the 99th Academy awards ( Oscars) 2026. It may be recalled that 11 years ago Marathi film ‘Court’ had received this honor and now ‘Gondhal’ which is set on the backdrop of our local soil and culture.
According to writer, director and producer Santosh Davakhar this is not just a big honour for a Marathi film but also national honour for our Indian tradition, Maharashtrian culture and story arising from our local soil. “I have tried my best to make this film of world standard taking into account the effective screenplay, cinematic liberties and effective sound effects.”
‘Gondhal’ will be released in theatres for limited period . So, the writer-director has appealed to film lovers to watch this film and offer their blessings.
Prasad Oak conferred with Maharashtra Government’s V. Shantaram award
Renowned Marathi , director, producer, singer, poet, writer and critic Prasad Oak, was recently conferred with Chitrapati V. Shantaram award by the Maharashtra Government for his special contribution to Marathi entertainment industry. The award was presented to him at a special function by the chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Devendra Fadnavis in presence of other dignitaries.
While praising his journey in this artistic field , Mr. Fadnavis described him as 360 degree Man in this field. It may be recalled that Mr. Prasad Oak has shouldered all types of responsibilities handed over to him in this field, with total commitment. And therefore, the praise showered on him by the CM was certainly very suitable for his contribution to this field.
Tujhe Naav Gheta song from ‘Maitreyaa’ is a timely release
The new song ‘Tujhe Naav Gheta’ from forthcoming Marathi film ‘Maitreyaa’ is a timely release on social media, as it is devoted to Lord Ganesha; and also coincides with upcoming Ganesh Festival. Rendered by Singers Shivam Singh and Apoorva Nishad on the lyrics of Guru Thakur this song has been composed by Pankaj Padghan and has been picturised on Samar, Ayushi, Sky and Ruchi with surprise appearance of Urmila Kanetkar and director Kranti Redkar Wankhede.
One thing is sure that this song will add extra vigour during the Ganesh Festival . According to writer- director Kranti Redkar Wankhede, there is special connect between Marathi Manoos and Ganapati Bappa and therefore wanted to to add the devotion besides the happiness and energy into it.
