Suicide and killing of fetus today are two major social crimes happening frequently. Forthcoming Marathi film “He Vaat Jeevanachi” has dealt with these two important issues, keeping the entertainment value intact. According to Mr. Harband Siddhu, director of this film, he has tried to show how to fight depressions in life.

He is a firm believer of “I had no intentions of getting preachy. It is a film. But as part of the story line, it is very told beautifully,” says the director.

The film presents the story of an old couple Savitri (Alka Kubal Athlye) & Sridhar Deshpande (Dr. Vilas Ujjvane) who suffer loneliness, for their personal loss. Savitri grieves deeper and she recovers after experiencing the pain of Shalaka, a stranger played by Puja Naik.

Shalaka is dejected with life and is trying to commit suicide. She is pregnant, all alone and scared. So, she sees suicide as the only option, not knowing that it is the biggest sin of killing an unborn soul in the process. The Character of Shridhar Deshpande played by Dr Vilas Ujjvane in this film is shown as a compassionate, strong willed and helpful person. He not only prevents Shalaka from taking this drastic step; but, also brings her to his own house and asks his wife to help her overcome the problem. “A positive deed attracts another positive reaction”. This is what the the film has tried to convey through its universal message.

With the star cast of Alka Kubal Athlye, Dr. Vilas Ujjvane, Puja Naik, Subodh Bhave (Guest Appearance), film is all set to release on 26 October 2012.
