Aaja meri gadi mein baith ja… play by Samanvay
‘Aaja meri gadi mein baith ja….’ A play inspired by the story “The hitchhiking game” written by the Czech author Milan Kundera in his collection ‘Laughable loves‘ opened now.
The play has been written by Shashank Shende, directed by Ashutosh Parandkar and produced by Samanvay, Pune.
A pioneer in the field of experimental theatre since 1992 Samanvay has produced many a thought provoking plays such as ‘Kovali Unhe’, ‘Tyacha Prakhar Samajik Janivanche Nikhare’, ‘Sathecha Kai Karayacha’, ‘Malabh’, ‘ Loose Control’, ‘Pani’, ‘CHharu Aaro…’, ‘Te Pudhe Gele’ and ‘Aaja Meri Gadi Main Baith Ja….’ Is their latest brainchild.
The play tries to put forth the conveniently changing definitions of the relationship between a man and a woman, their constant struggles to break the monotony and retain their identities in the scenario of 21st century. The underline idea of the play is a game which ultimately becomes the very basis for survival of the relationship of two people (A Married Couple) working in the corporate sector.
The game is the only device between them to reduce distance between their relationships and to overcome on their missing dialogue. The play has been performed by Aarti Wadagbalkar and Mayur Khandge who play a variety of different characters. The music has been designed by Rohit Nagbhide, the composer of the acclaimed and award winning movie ‘TINGYA’. The lights are designed by Harshavarhan Pathak. The set executed by Ashutosh Parandkar and costumes designed by Sonal Kharade.
The production is controlled by Amit Kiwalkar for Samanvay,pune.
