Marathi film ‘Bunny’ was recently screened at the Fort Smith International Film Festival, USA. ‘Bunny’ was the only Marathi film, selected for this festival among the 137 films from thirty different countries. The films selected for this festival represented diversified culture on different subjects like Sci-Fi, Drama, comedy, thriller and action.

Speaking about his film, writer-director Nilesh Upadhye said, “Bunny is Socio-Psychic thriller which speaks on the present burning social issue. Producer Shanker Dhuri who makes his debut as a film producer is happy that his film could travel across the globe with a social message. Child artiste Sanvi Raje plays the title role of Bunny in this film, along with Shailesh Korde and Sheetal Gaikwad. DOP Kartik Katkar, Sound design Abhijit Shriram Deo, art direction Anil Vath, editing Yogesh Bhatt,background music Akshay Eluripatti are the other credits of this film.

Producer Shankar Dhuri and writer – director Nilesh Upadhye’s Marathi film ‘Bunny’, which unveiled its first look at World famous Cannes Film Festival, has been receiving very good response at different international film festivals worldwide. Few days ago, this film was selected for screening at the Cinemaking International film festival at Dhaka followed by announcement of award for this film at the Madrid International film festival, Spain.

The film has also been selected at the Fort Smith International film festival, USA, besides getting selected at the other film festivals like ‘K.Asif’, ‘Ayodhya’ and ‘Gandhar Independent’. Reacting on this success achieved by his film, Producer Shanker Dhuri feels that this was possible due to hard work put in by the entire team of technicians and artistes of this film. ‘Bunny’ presents an interesting journey of a ten year old girl who has been isolated from this world by a person with the name of Vivek. According to the makers of this film ‘Bunny’ is a Soci0- psychological thriller.

Child artiste Sanvi Raje plays the title role along with other talented artistes like Shailesh Korde and Sheetal Gaikwad. Sound design by Abhijit Sriram Deo, art direction by Anil Vath, editing by Yogesh Bhatt and background music by Akshay Eluripati are the other credits of thios film.

There are various ways tried by our film makers to reach out to their audience, whether it is in our country or worldwide, to popularise their film.Producer Shanker Dhuri and director Nilesh Upadhye used their own ideas to promote their Marathi film ‘Bunny’ at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival. They used this platform very well at the India Pavilion.

 When the poster and first look of this film was released, they saw a very good response from the visitors, who clicked their photos and selfies in front of their film’s poster at the India Pavilion. Overwhelmed by this response, director Nilesh Upadhye who was present there, expressed his happiness and hoped that his film received more response from the audience, when their film is released in theatres. One thing is sure that their campaign at Cannes has worked very well.
