On the occasion of Valentines Day today, Flowsome entertainment have presented the first Blues Song in Marathi suitably titled ‘Ek Cup Coffee’ . Produced by VB Films and Seven Wonder Motion Poster, this song has been picturised on fresh pair of Marathi artistes Gaurav Ghatnekar and Namrata Gaikwad. The lyrics, Music and direction and music of this song is by Aditya Barve and the song is rendered by Ashish Joshi.

Blues songs are more lyrical than narrative and the singers of such songs are expressing feelings rather than telling stories. Speaking about this song actress namrata Gaikwad said, “Actually title of this song ‘Ek Cup Coffee’ touched my heart. Coffee plays an important role in in different moods of love and in some cases coffee helps to build new relationship. Through this song, we have tried our best to express our feelings.”

After establishing themselves as a producers of award winning Marathi film ‘Ventilator‘ , Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and her mother Dr.Madhu Chopra are getting ready with her next Marathi film ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa‘ as a producer. This time her associate producer is Kunickaa Sadanand and both of them seems to have paid more attention on the music of this film, by retaining the same music director duo Rohan-Rohan.

Recently, a romantic song from this film ‘Chehara Tuza Kohinoor‘ rendered by popular Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam and picturised on lead pair of Gaurav Ghatnekar and Bhagyashree Mote was launched on digital platform, the makers of  ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa‘ film . Highlight of this song is that it has been shot in the amazing historic location in one of the oldest Portuguese fort. The picturesque beauty, alongside the magnificent 500 year old caves in Div, has also been captured in this song. After commercial success, rave reviews from critics and three national awards for the Marathi comedy-drama, Ventilator released last year, Priyanka Chopra‘s production house, Purple Pebble Pictures is set to showcase their next offering, ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa!‘

Directed by I. Giridharan Swamy, ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa‘ marks the debut of actors Gaurav Ghatnekar and Bhagyashree Mote. The cast also includes Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, Supriya Pathare and Akshar Kothari. After an emotionally charged ‘Ventilator‘, ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa‘ promises to be a light hearted, rib-tickling comedy.

The global superstar, who had stepped into production with her Purple Pebble Pictures production house, took to Twitter to share the fun poster of ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa‘ – a family entertainer with a tinge of south flavour – with her fans and followers.

She tweeted, “Full steam ahead on @purplepebblepic’s 2^nd Marathi production#KaayReRascala – a hilarious family entertainer releasing July 14 @chopramm5“.

Much hype has followed the announcement of this second Marathi movie and the muhurat held for it in January 2017, given the celebrated success of its antecedent. With no face on the poster, it makes for an intriguing first look, wildly trending on social media sites and spurring curiosity and excitement amongst cine goers. Directed by Duo Rohan-Rohan has lent their music to the movie. The film is bankrolled by Priyanka Chopra and her mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra. Kunickaa Sadanand is the Associate Producer, while Dr. Satyasheel Biradar and Sangeeta Manjrekar are the co-producers of the film. ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa‘ is set to release on 14^th July, 2017.

It seems that Mrunmayee Deshpande has made a beginning to indicate that it’s time for wedding season. Now, following Mrunmayee, another popular TV and film actress Shruti Marathe also tied her knot with her ‘Tujhi Majhi Love Story‘ co star Gaurav Ghatnekar. Ever since both of them worked in this film, we have been hearing about their good friendship. And, the same has now grown into life partnership with their wedding.

Incidentally, there are few more weddings on the cards. But, we are not sure about their probable dates. Shruti Marathe and Gaurav Ghatnekar marriage reminds us about all those marriages in the past among the Marathi artistes. Goa has always been a favourite place of many film makers; only because the atmosphere is most conducive for young couples to share the happiness in their lives. Latest released Marathi film ‘Tujhi Majhi Love Story’ which takes off in Mumbai and then proceeds to Goa, to unfold the realities in lives of two youngsters Aditi (Shruti Marathe) and Indraneil alias Neil (Gaurav Ghatnekar) .

The story of the film revolves around Young Indraneil, who is good at painting and photography; but, is not sure about his career. He spends most of his time in the company of his two close friends Goli and Vihnu, doing petty jobs, only because he gets self satisfaction. He works late night hours, eats double burger with Cola and sleeps till noon, unless there is any urgent assignment from home front. One day, his elder sister Sandhya (Mrunalini Jambhle) takes him along with her, to receive her friend Aditi at the airport. Aditi arrives from Goa.

In the company of Aditi who is five years older to him, Indraneil discovers a new friend. He clicks lots of photographs of Aditi and falls in love with her. After Aditi leaves for Goa and having come to know about the proposed engagement of Aditi; Indraneil becomes restless and leaves for Goa, seeking the help of his friend Goli. After reaching Goa, we find new developments in this intense love story , with the biggest opposition coming from Aditi’s brother (Varad Chavan) who has fixed Aditi’s marriage to his friend (Shrikant Kamat), obviously for his business gain. This 112 minute long film, then concludes with an extension to a happening shown in the beginning of the film.

‘Tujhi Majhi Love Story’ is no doubt an intense love story; but is not very fascinating. It has many such scenes of past love stories, witnessed on big screen; including one song sequence going on the lines of “Agar Main kahoo…” from the Hrithik Roshan – Priety Zinta’s film ‘Lakshya’. There are also few minor lapses by debutant director Rushikesh More on maintaining perfection towards continuity of scenes. But, there are more plus points too; which makes this film appealing.

The selection of new artistes for different character roles, is perfect. Especially, Sanket More, who has played the character of Goli, a close friend of Neil. He looks so natural ! Thanks to director Rushikesh More, for extracting the best out of him.. Even Shrikant kamat, who plays the role of Aditi’s ‘would be’ husband looks a perfect Goan. Varad Chavan is impressive in the role of Aditi’s brother. With his perfect physique and body language, he invites all the attention in that negative role. Even Mrunalini Jambhale has performed her limited role with ease, along with other supporting artistes .

Playing that difficult character of Aditi, Shruti Marathe has succeeded in proving that she is well versed in playing such a character, who is in a dilemma. She has expressed the happiness and attitude of a typical Goan girl very well, besides turning emotional at one point. Gaurav Ghatnekar is a gift to Marathi cinema, as he has performed the role of Indraneil with total conviction. At no point, he was found as a debutant actor. Having received the experience of a Marathi and Hindi serial, he looked more comfortable on big screen. This Whistling Woods trained actor, who has taken acting lessons from Naseeruddin Shah, certainly has a bright future.

Two other areas, where this film has scored, are Music and cinematography. While Bapi -Tutul impressed more with his background music, Arun Sorte displayed his wonderful photography, especially capturing the picturesque outdoor locations. All in all, ‘Tujhi Majhi Love Story’ is surely a one time watch for all age groups, on account of its plus points.
