Producers Pushkar Yogesh Gupta and writer- director Sagar Ladhe launched the teaser poster of their forthcoming Marathi film ‘Samsara’ recently. And it has indicated a lot of creativity in conveying the theme of this film. Through this film, Sayali Sanjeev and Rishi Saxena are coming together after their popular TV serial in the past.

Apart from Rishi and Sayali this film also stars Pushkar Shrotri, Dr. Girish Oak, Nandita Dhuri, Priyadarshini Indalkar, Tanish Vishe, Yashraj Dimble, Kailas Waghmare, Sakshi Gandhi in prominent roles. One thing is sure that the teaser of this film has generated a lot of curiosity among the filmlovers. This film will be released on 20th June 2025 on big screen.

Baalbhaarti Movie Trailer launched by education minister Deepak Kesarkar, Siddharth Jadhav

Trailer of much-awaited Marathi film ‘Baalbhaarti’ was launched on the occasion of Children’s day today.  Maharashtra’s School Education and Marathi Language Minister Deepak Kesarkar graced the occasion and launched the trailer along with 10 school children. Director Nitin Nandan, Producers Comall and Sunjoy Waddhwa of Sphereorigins , lead artistes of the film Siddharth Jadhav, Nandita Patkar, Aaryan Menghji, Ravindra Mankani, Usha Naik, Sanjay Mone , Abhijit Khandkekar and crew members were present at this event held at Famous Studio in Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Deepak Kesarkar said that even if you need to know English, English is not everything. “Children should be educated in the language they like. Countries that are technologically advanced today are seen to be educated in their mother tongue. When I was in Paris, no one answered me in English on the street. Maybe they know English but want to insist on their own language. We must know English, but English is not everything,” said Shri. Kesarkar .

He further added, “India was several steps ahead in terms of education. When the first school started in England in the 18th century, we had Gurukul. The British abolished this system to rule us. We should provide the best technology to children in our schools. Artificial Intelligence, robotics, and computer science is the future. We are committed to providing the best technology to our children”

Unlike his previous love stories , this time director Sanjay Jadhav deviates from his entertainment formula, to offer an emotion filled story through his latest released Marathi film ‘Khari Biscuit’. Actually, ‘Khari Biscuit’ is a sensitive emotion filled film on the life of two siblings, who turn orphans, when their mother living in slums dies in an accident. When five year old blind girl Khari (Vedashree Khadilkar) expresses her wish to her caring brother Biscuit(Adarsha Kadam) , he tries to fulfil the same by working hard as a child labourer. But, when she demands something unachievable by her brother, the determined brother goes on to make what is impossible as possible, attempting different ways.

What follows in the process, is what Sanjay Jadhav has presented through an interesting screenplay of this film. He has dedicated this film to all the brothers and sisters in this world and therefore emotions play a very important part in this film. But, what is more important is that he takes the support of the most popular game of cricket. Set on the backdrop of the ICC World Cup One day Cricket matches of 2011, when India won the World cup after 28 long years. Since this was the last World Cup of India’s master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, it turned out to be a biggest gift for him. And therefore, the director has used his popular image cleverly in the film’s story.

Though the main plot of this film is good, few happenings in the film fail to convince . But, the director has extracted the best from the two child artistes Vedashree and Adarsha and both of them have responded very well . Good support also comes from Nandita Dhuri and Sanjay Narvekar through their limited roles. There are many other newcomers in supporting roles and they too have performed convincingly. As far as the locations in and around the city of Mumbai and Thane are concerned, they give a realistic look. Music by Suraj Dhiraj goes well with the film’s subject. All in all, director Sanjay Jadhav sold a dream to many underprivileged children especially the brothers and sisters.

In the past, through films like Gulzar’s ‘Koshish’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s ‘Khamoshi’ we have seen the struggle of speech and hearing impaired parents, while communicating with their child . Similarly in Marathi film like Samruddhi Porey‘s ‘Mala Aai Vhaychay’ we saw the problems faced by a surrogate mother, when after taking care of the child , the absconding Mother suddenly comes to take the possession of the child. The film had also shown the story in legal and emotional perspective of who should the child be with.

Now, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt presented and Raj R Gupta directed latest Marathi film ‘Baba‘, we find a speech and hearing impaired poor village couple Madhav( Deepak Dobriyal) & Anandi ( Nandita Patkar) taking unconditional charge of a three day old illegitimate child born to an unmarried woman Pallavi( Spruha Joshi) , whose father refuses to accept the child.

The poor couple living in a remote village make all the efforts to offer love and affection to the child named Shankar ( Aryan Menghji) for eight long 8 years. Though the child can hear, he cannot speak, obviously because of the environment around him. When after eight years, the real mother returns with her husband Raajan ( Abhijit Khandkekar) after four years of their marriage, to claim the child, Madhav and Anandi are dragged into court by their lawyer Mr. Sapre ( Shailesh Datar) to prove their claim right. So, the Public Prosecutor Mr. Madke ( Jayant Gadekar) is provided to the poor couple. What transpires in the court of Judge ( Jaywant Wadkar) handling this legal battle and how the poor father Madhav makes desperate efforts to make his little son speak during the hearing period of the case, is an interesting emotion and humour filled story presented through the film’s screenplay.

What impresses the most, is the battle in the court, with Madhav and Anandi trying to prove their point through their family friend Tryambak(Chittaranjan Giri) who stammers while speaking. The director has very skilfully shown the lifestyle of Madhav and Anandi, while meeting the small demands of little Shankar. Moreover, the struggle of Madhav is clearly noticed through his efforts so as to not lose the custody of his beloved Shankar.

The film’s screenplay and presentation style seems to have been inspired by award winning Iranian Film maker Majid Majidi and therefore there is a lot of scope for this film to receive invitations from various international film festivals. The performances of the lead artistes are the best. They find very good support from the supporting artistes. The film has also received good technical support, with superb cinematography by Arjun Sorte, good art direction by Siddharth Tatooskar, Bhakti Tatooskar suitable sound design of Shijin Hutton- Abhishek Nair and perfect music and background music by the team of Rohan, Rohan & Susmit Limaye to create the perfect village backdrop during the period of 1990.

All in all, ‘Baba’ is an artistic film for all those film lovers who love to watch something sensible that touches their heart. This emotion filled film with some added humour, is also a tribute to all fathers in this world.

The film is directed by Raj R Gupta, who strongly believes that ‘emotions have no language. “It is a bittersweet tale of how a family pursues happiness over everything.” he says.

Well Known Cinematographer of Hindi films, Laxman Utekar,  who made his debut in direction through Marathi film ‘Tapal’, is now all set to release his next Marathi film ‘Lalbaugchi Rani’ soon. Actress Veena Jamkar who played lead role in ‘Tapal’, is playing the central character in the film ‘Lalbaugchi Rani’.  The film, promises a new way to live life. Recently trailer of this film was launched in Mumbai, giving an idea that Veena plays a totally different role of a girl, who is a Special child, who gets separated from her family.

Besides directing this film, Mr. Laxman Utekar is also co producing this film.   Through this film, he has presented some real happenings, which he has noticed in his day to day life.  Rohan Ghuge has written the script of this film, with music composed by Rohit Nagbhide. The film is presented by Sunil Manchanda, while it is presented by Bollywood’s Boney Kapoor. Besides Veena Jamkar, who plays the title role, the film stars Ashok Shinde,  Prathamesh Parab, Parth Bhalerao, Neha Joshi Nandita Dhuri, Reshma Chougule , Subrat Dutta, Jaywant Wadkar, Pratima Joshi, Suyash Joshi & Jagannath Nivangune in lead roles. As a writer, Prasad Namjoshi had already earned a name. His book ‘Short Cut‘ has already won the State Government’s Literary award and as a Film writer, he has two films to his credit, ‘Kapus Kondyachi Goshta‘ and ‘Highway Touch Guntha Mantri‘. Now, through cinematographer turned Producer Amol Gole’s Marathi film ‘Rangaa Patangaa‘ , he got an opportunity to make his debut as a director. And, he has succeeded in offering a serious issue in a humorous way, very tactfully.

Set on the backdrop of rural Maharashtra, the film presents the story of a poor Muslim farmer, who lives with his wife Noor and his two bullocks, whom he treats like his own children. One day, his bulls go missing and worried Jumman goes to local Police station to record the missing complaint. But, he is driven out by the Policeman.

Helpless Jumman with the help of his dear friend Popat, then goes in search of the bulls Rangaa and Patangaa. During their search, they come across reporters of a News channel, who have arrived in their village, to cover the drought situation. When the reporters seek help from Popat, they come to know about the incidence of missing bulls of Jumman. And, they find this story more interesting. With the breaking of this news all over the state, it causes concern to the local administration at District level and a Police Officer is deputed to investigate the case of missing bulls. In the meanwhile, we find other TV channel people also following the same story, trying to compete with their rival channels.

Fed up of this nuisance, finally, we find Jumman going all alone in search of his bulls and succeeds in tracing them, with the efforts also put in by investigating Police officer and the reporters of TV channel, who first disclose this story. It is a simple story, but very effectively presented through interesting screenplay and humor filled dialogues, penned by the director himself. Makarand Anaspure in the role of Jumman has proved that he is not only a good comedian; but can also perform serious type of roles with full commitment. In the film, he has found excellent support from Sandeep Pathak, who has played the role of his friend Popat, with total conviction. Good support also comes from Nandita Dhuri, who looks so natural in the role of Noor, wife of Jumman. Comedian Bharat Ganeshpure suits well, in the character of a Minister, though he has limited role.

Among others, who have made this film more realistic are Gauri Konge as Popat’s wife, Suhas Palshikar as Head of the village, Umesh Jagtap as Police Constable, Hardik Joshi as investigating ACP and Abhay Mahajan as News channel reporter. Kaushal Inamdar has done a wonderful job of composing a Ghazal and a Qauwwali , based on the same lyrics. Anmol Bhave’s sound design is perfect, from beginning scene till the end of the film. Amol Gole has captured the progress of events in Jumman’s life, very creatively, through his Len’s eye. After all this was his own film. All in all, ‘Rangaa Patangaa’ is an emotion filled entertaining film.
