Actor Sameer Patil who had switched over from acting to writing and direction is now back to his acting profession with a web series ‘Tartito’ directed by Santosh Kolhe. It may be recalled that Sameer Patil with his writing had switched over to direction with films like ‘Vikun Tak’ , ‘Poshter Boyz’ read review, ‘Poshter Girlz’  read review & ‘Shentimental‘ read review. But now, it seems during this worst period of lockdown in the industry, he is back to his acting profession.

This web series ‘Taritito’ is made by Virus Marathi and the story of this web series revolves around a father and his two grown up children living at Ghodbunder Road, Thane. Sameer plays the character of Manohar a father who lives with his two children – daughter Kshiti and Son Tosh and has to look after all their needs, as his wife is away in Sangli on her job assignment. How Manohar handles the responsibility of his college going son and daughter is what this series presents to the home viewers. The role of daughter is played by Ankita Desai while Srujan Deshpande plays the role of his son. 3 parts of this series have already been released on youtube and the trailer of the next part is released now.

Produced by Uttung Hitendra Thakur , who produced films like ‘Yellow’ & ‘Balak Palak’ and directed by ‘Poster Boyz’ and ‘Poster Girl’ fame Sameer Patil, the film presents Chunky Pandey in an important character representing a wealthy Arab. This is indicated through the poster of this film released recently. He is shown holding the neck of two Marathi artistes Shivraj Waichal and Rohit Mane. The other lead artistes of this film are, Rutuja Deshmukh, Sameer Chaugule, Hrishikesh Joshi and Varsha Dandale.

Speaking about his debut in Marathi film, Chunky said that being a Mumbaikar he speaks Marathi and respects the language. “I have been watching Marathi films and always wanted to make my debut in Marathi, but was looking for a good script. The story of this film and my character appealed to me and I said ‘Yes'”. Chunky has always appreciated the humour in Marathi films.

Through the first poster of his forthcoming film which shows Ashok Saraf in the uniform of a Police Hawaldar, he took the opportunity to wish his lead actor a very happy birthday, in a unique way.

The uniform of a Police Hawaldar is very special for versatile actor Ashok Saraf, as he had begun his film career in the role of a hawaldar through Dada Kondke‘s film ‘Pandu Hawaldar‘ way back in 1975. Now, after 42 years Ashok Saraf is playing Asst Police Sub Inspector, with promotion for that character. Known for his perfect timing for comedy, for the past four decades, it will be interesting to find him in this role through this film, which will be released on 28^th July 2017.

On Thursday , the official trailer of this film was unveiled in presence of media persons and entire star cast of the film. The centre of attraction was lead actress Sonalee Kulkarni, who is playing title role in ‘Poshter Girl‘. From the trailer, it clearly indicates that the film offers a social message, through its fun filled story, which is written by actor Hemant Dhome, who is also part of this film.
