Two Marathi plays to be staged at Prithvi Theatres
P.S. Rege’s Marathi novel ‘Savitri‘ has already popularized among sensible readers in Maharashtra. The novel revolves around a young woman Savitri, who with her poetic mind has written letters to her boyfriend during the period April 1939 to June 1947. The curiosity of readers unfolds through these letters. In today’s correspondence through facebook and whatsapp, the letters of Savitri still makes interesting reading. And therefore, director Ravindra Lakhe with the help of actress Dr. Priya Jamkar decided to present Savitri’s character through this play at Prithvi Theatres, Juhu on Tuesday 22nd November at 9 pm. This Marathi play will be produced by Miti-char, Kalyan and presented by Astitva, Mumbai. Music by Kaushal Inamdar and lighting by Makarand Mukund are the other credits of this play.
On the same day, at 6 pm Astitva, Mumbai will also present Rising India Research Foundation, Pune’s Marathi play ‘Kasab Aani Mee‘ written by Adhish Paygude and directed by Deepak Karanjikar, with lighting by Shital Talpade. This play stars Adhish Paygude, Vidya Karanjikar and Deepak Karanjikar.
Astitva which has already made a good beginning, by entering Prithvi Theatres with their previous Marathi play ‘Agdich Shoonya‘ and receiving good response, hope to receive the same response for these two plays.
