‘Gulabjaam’ gets ready for release on 16th February
After beginning the new year in a grand way with the release of ‘Ye Re Ye Re Paisa’ , Zee talkies is now all set to release their next film ‘Gulabjaam’ on 16th February 2018. Directed by Sachin Kundalkar this new film stars Sonalee Kulkarni and Siddharth Chandekar in lead roles. Their pair will be seen together for the first time in Marathi films. Recently, the trailer of this film was launched in a big way in a five star hotel in Mumbai in presence of artistes of this film and other dignitaries.
The film is produced by Vinod Malgewar under the banner of Golden gate Motion Pictures, with presentation by Zee Talkies. Besides Sonalee and Siddharth, the film also stars Mahesh Ghag, Madhura Deshpande, Chinmay Udgirkar & Mohanabai. The music of this film is composed by Avadhoot Gupte & Thaikuddam, while cinematography is captured by Milind Jog. Poorva Pandit is the art director of this film, while the food styling is by Saili Rajadhyaksha and Shweta Bapat.

Sushant Shelar Returns To Marathi Stage
Actor Sushant Shelar who for the past six years has been active with Marathi films, will now be returning to Marathi stage after a gap of six years. Sushant is playing lead role in satirical format of Acharya P.K.Atre’s old famous Marathi play ‘Ekach Pyala’. The play will be directed by Satish Pulekar and the inaugural show will be presented on 9th June 2017 at Pune’s Balgandhava Rangmandir.
After the inaugural show, the regular shows of ‘Ekach Pyala’ play will be performed in Mumbai and all over Maharashtra from 14th June onwards. At present the rehearsals of this play are in full progress. In this play, along with Sushant Shelar the artistes who will be performing in ‘Ekach Pyala’ play are, Pallavi Vaidya, Swapnil Rajshekhar, Amol Bavdekar, Vinayak Bhave, Mrunalini Javale & Hemant Bhalekar. The play is produced by Prafull More with music by Dnyaneshwar pendharkar and background music by Nandlal Rele.
Sushant himself is very happy about this offer and feels that to work with director Satish Pulekar is itself a great experience for him.
Will Prashant’s detective image work on big screen ?
Prashant Damle is the favorite actor on Marathi stage today, with lots of fan following. He has already created a record of performing in more than 10,000 shows on stage. For the past 30 years, Prashant Damle has played variety of roles on Marathi stage and television. During 80s and 90s, he was part of many Marathi comedy films. But, in the recent past, he had focused more on his stage shows. Prashant will now be returning to big screen, that too in lead role, in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Bho Bho‘, which is all set to release on 22nd April 2016. By the way, Prashant is playing a detective and it remains to be seen, whether his new image will work in Marathi films?
In the film, Prashant plays the central character of Detective Vyankatesh Bhonde and it is understood that producer-director Bharat Gaikwad has used all his skills, to extract the best out of Prashant Damle. Luckily, he has good support coming from team of other talented artistes like Subodh Bhave, Sanjay Mone, Sharad Ponkshe, Saurabh Gokhale, Anuja Sathe Gokhale, Ashwini Ekbote, Kishore Chougule & Ketaki Chitale.
Jeevan Gaurav award for Dr. Mohan Agashe
Popular veteran Marathi and Hindi stage and film personality Dr. Mohan Agashe will be felicitated with the prestigious ‘Jeevangaurav’ award on 5thNovember 2011 by the Akhil Bharatiya Natyaparishad, Pune. The award will be presented to him by renowned senior actor Dr. Shreeram Lagoo. Incidentally, Dr. Agashe has completed 50 years of his acting career.
Dr. Mohan Agashe, who began his career with Sai Paranjape’s Little Theatres went on to perform in various Marathi popular plays like ‘Ghashiram Kotwal’, ‘Begum Barve’ and ‘Aadhe Adure’ in Hindi; besides doing memorable roles in films like ‘Saamna’, ‘Sinhasan’, ‘Jait Re Jait’ and Aruna Raje’s Hindi film ‘Rihaee’. He was also in Ram Gopal Verma’s film ‘Ab Tak Chappan’. At present, his marathi play ‘Katkone Trikon’ is in the news. Dr. Agashe is also doing a serial ‘Guntata Hriday Hey’ on Zee Marathi.

Bhooshan & Mrinmayi getting ready for ‘Miss Match’ release
Gold Coin Entertainment and U.K.Film’s New Marathi film ‘Miss Match’ is getting ready to release soon. Recently, the first look of this film along with music was released in presence of artistes and media. Music director Avadhoot Gupte and senior artiste Uday Tikekar were the guests of honour on this occasion . Presented by Alkok Shrivatava, (who is also creative director of this film); the film is directed by Girish Vasaikar, who has directed many TV serials.
This is the first film of producer Alok Shrivastava in Marathi and he preferred model Mrinmayi , as the right choice for the female lead. By the way, Mrinmayi is also making her debut in films, through this film. So, there are many debutants, like director Girish , lyricist Dr.Ashish and music director Niraj. However, popular singers like Asha Bhosale, Hariharan, Sonu Nigam, Avadhoot Gupte,and Bela Shende have rendered their voices for songs in this film. Script by Nitin Dixit, Choreography by Ganesh Acharya and camera by Bharni Kannan are the other credits.
Besides the lead pair of Bhooshan Pradhan and Mrinmai Kolwalkar, the film also stars Uday Tikekar, Bhau kadam and Jaywant Bhalekar. The film is all set to release on 12th December 2014.
Actor Atul Abhayankar is no more
Popular Marathi actor Atul Abhyankar is no more. He died due to severe heart attach during early hours today morning. Atul had recently won the best character award from Zee Marathi, for his wonderful portrayal of Pradhan in popular period TV serial ‘Jai Malhar’ . Atul was always noticed with his smiling face in that role, suggesting solution to every problem faced by King Khandoba.
Atul had also performed in few Marathi Dramas and films. He had portrayed the role of a Police officer before. According to reliable sources, his last rites will be performed at D
