Pooja Sawant survives, despite major fire during her event

The occasion was celebration on the occasion of ‘make in India’ event Maharashtra Rajani, at Mumbai’s Girgaon chaupati. It all happened, all of a sudden, as if it was a shooting for an action film. Big ‘B’ Amitabh Bachchan had just finished his event and popular Marathi actress Pooja Sawant stepped in to perform the popular Lavani ‘Mala Jaoo Dya Na Ghari…’ along with a group of dancers.
Though people seated in the front rows, including VIPs like chief minister of Maharashtra and delegates of different countries could see the fire spreading under the stage, actress Pooja Sawant and her group kept on going. Perhaps, they might have thought that it was artificially created smoke, which we usually see during such events. But, it was only when the security people went close to the stage shouting and asking them to leave the stage, they realized some trouble and left the podium.
There were many others, including actor Shreyas Talpade , Anchor Vivek Oberoi and 500 performers, including children, who were immediately shifted to a safer place. Though, it was a quick rescue operation, with no injuries, reported, Pooja is yet to recover from the shock.

‘Ek Hotee Rani’ promises an unusual Love Story

We have heard many bedtime stories from our grandparents, during our childhood. And, most of them, used to be about a King and his queen. Perhaps, inspired by such stories, Yogesh Nivrutti Bhalerao is presenting a Marathi film suitably titled ‘Ek Hotee Rani’, which is directed by Prasad Tarkar. First look of ‘Sangharsh Yatra’ promises a realistic biopic

Biopics of famous personalities from Maharashtra, have always received good response from Marathi film lovers. Best examples are films like ‘Dr.Prakash Baba Amte‘ & ‘Lokmanya‘. Actually, much depends on the research and hard work put in by the film maker, to present the important happenings in the lives of such people, in a realistic way. But, what is more important is the selection of artistes, as they should be acceptable by the audience.
Till now, we were not aware, as to how the lead actor Sharad Kelkar looks, while portraying the character of late Gopinath Munde. But, with the unveiling of the first look of ‘Sangharsh Yatra‘, we are all convinced that the prosthetic make up done by Mr. Pradeep Premgirikar for actor Sharad Kelkar, does make him look like the late dynamic leader of Maharashtra. Sharad has not only resembled him, with this special make up on his face, but he has also convincingly used the body language and style of the dialogue delivery of the leader.
We also had the glimpse of other important characters played by Shruti Marathe & Dipti Bhagwat, in this first look and they too are expected to give their best. Speaking about the delay in releasing this film, after announcement of its scheduled release, last month, the makers of the film, have jokingly put it, “ Mr. Munde was always in a habit of arriving late, for functions and meetings. Therefore, we felt that his film should also be released behind scheduled date.”
But, the day they have selected for release now, is 19th February 2016; which also happens to be the release date of four other films, namely, ‘Mr. & Mrs. Sadachari’, ‘Vighnaharta Mahaganapati’, ‘Ek Hotee Rani’ & ‘7 Roshan Villa’. And, all of them are different types of films. So, we will have to wait and see, which film will be ahead in the race?
‘Mr. & Mrs. Sadachari’ will have the south look with action and romance

Whether in Hindi or Marathi, every filmmaker while making his debut in direction, tries to play safe, with the remake of a popular south film. And, well known distributor of films, Mr. Ashish Wagh is no exception. Ashish opted for 2014 hit Kannada Film ‘Mr. & Mrs. Ramachari’, to make his debut film in Marathi, as a director. So, he named it as ‘Mr. & Mrs. Sadachari’ in Marathi, which is now all set to release on 19th February 2016.
After watching the first look of ‘Mr. and Mrs. Sadachari’, we are convinced that it will have that typical south look, with romance , action, breakup and reunion at the end. Moreover, song n dance picturisation, with colourful costumes, hundreds of dancers and beautiful locations will be highlight of this film. Above all, to make the character of lead hero more powerful, there has to be a good villain. So, to counter the dynamic brave hero, he has opted for Vijay Andalkar , to play the negative role opposite him.
The film stars Prarthana Behere; so the glamour part has been taken care of, with her inclusion. Now, it remains to be seen, how this south Indian style, action based romantic musical film, will be accepted by Marathi film lovers? By the way, there are 3 to 4 more Marathi films, also to be released on the same day, along with this film.
