Mandar – Manjiri’s poems released by Mangesh Padgaonkar

Manjiri Nirgudkar and her brother Mandar Nirgudkar have compiled their Marathi poems in a book form, which was released by noted Marathi poet Mangesh Padgaonkar, in Mumbai recently. Present on the occasion were dignitaries from different fields like Ms. Veena Patil, CEO Veena World, Mr. Kesari Patil of Kesari Group, Music director- Mr. Kaushal Inamdar, Sr. Police Officers Vishwas Nangre Patil & Hemant Nagrale, Industrialist Subhash Dandekar, writer Ratnakar Matkari, actress Fayaaz, actor Subodh Bhave, actor Pradeep Veklankar,Poet Ashok Naigaonkar ,Santoor player Satish Vyas and parents of Mandar-Manjiri- Dr. Sudhir and Charusheela Nirgudkar.
Mr. Mangesh Padgaonkar was high praise for their poems and even read out three poems from the collection, while kaushal Inamdar rendered the poems on his music. Ms. Veena Patil, who is the employer of Manjiri Nirgudkar, said that Manjiri was a very efficient worker in the Digital marketing Department of Veena World and also found time to write such literary work in Marathi. Both mandar and manjiri have also written poems in English and Hindi too. .
‘Salaam’ First look released by Nana Patekar
There are many essential things, which are important to face the difficulties in life. Besides believing in human values, there is also need of going with the truth, being fearless & honest; apart from having good friends and trusted family members. Based on this philosophy, Director Kiran Yadnyopavit (‘Taryanche Bait’ fame) is offering this new Marathi film ‘Salaam’.
The first look of this film was released by popular actor Nana Patekar recently, in presence of producers of the film Gaurav Somani, Anand Somani and Sunil Somani. Also present on the occasion to wish the film maker were Sai Tamhankar, Spruha Joshi, Umesh kamat and popular anchor Sudhir Gadgil. The film stars Girish Kulkarni, Kishore kadam, Atisha Naik, Jyoti Chandekar, Sanjay Kharpe and child artiste Vivek Chabikswar. Script by Kiran Yadnyopavit himself, lyrics by Vaibhav Joshi, music by Rahul Ranade are the other credits. The film is due for release on 11th April 2014.
New Marathi film ‘Taptapadi’ inspired by Tagore’s story

India has always been a principal society that believes in its Culture and Social values. The India that Gurudev Ravindranath Tagore portrayed in his Short Story ‘Drushtidaan’ tells the stories of love, devotion and sacrifice. Director Sachin Baliram Nagargoje, who is inspired by ‘Drushtidaan’, is now offering a new Marathi film ‘Taptapadi’, which is the story of Madhav, Meera and Sunanda.
This period drama which is set on the backdrop of pre independence era, depicts the age old culture, values and human intricacies of society that were in practice during the Britishraaj have been minutely marked and executed in the film by the director.
To give cinematic form to this story, the director has tried to relate the screenplay of this film with that of traditional Maharashtrian culture, which existed during the period 1930-40. He has also taken into account the reforms that were noticed during that period.
The film stars Kashyap Parulekar (Madhav), Veena Jamkar (Meera), Shruti Marathe(Sunanda) in lead characters which also sees the strong impact of characters played by Neena Kulkarni, Sharad Ponkshe, Ambarish Deshpande, Ashwini Ekbote among others. The film’s first look is now out and it will be released on 28th March 2014.
Music album ‘Tujhyach Aaspaas Mee’ for Valentine

Universal Music Group Mumbai, have a special offering for Valentine’s day. They have timely released the music album of Swapnil Bandodkar ‘Tujhyach Aaspaas Mee’ comprising of romantic songs on this occasion. The album was officially released at Sawangi (Meghe), in presence of Shalinitai Meghe, trustee of Meghe Group, Sagar Meghe, former MLA, Lyricist Sanjay Ingale Tigaonkar, music director Ajay Headau and others.
On this occasion, singers Anil Khobragade, Madhavi Kulkarni and Ajay Hedau presented some songs from this album, to entertain the audience comprising of renowned people from social, music and literary field from Vidarbha. Radio star Sachin Ghode anchored the show.
Maharashtra Kalanidhi’s plan to build a film city in Konkan
Konkan is known for its pristine beaches and scenic beauty, Konkan has always invited the attention of film makers, to shoot their films. Now, very soon a film city will be build in this picturesque Konkan; which will have state of art technology and equipments. The film city is conceptualized by Nitesh Rane of Maharashtra Kalanidhi. The designs and the plans for the film city will be revealed soon. The first phase of film city will initially start operation in the 10 acres of beautiful area in Malvan.
Marathi entertainment is expanding its activities, as noticed with the rise in number of films and TV serials on different networks. In order to meet the requirement of locations, this ambitious project is being built at Malvan. The film city will comprise of a wide variety of film locales, indoor studios, equipments related to camera, light, sound as well as studios, which will have latest post-production facilities, residences for cast & crew, dining arrangements etc.
Well known Bollywood Art Director and architect Jayant Deshmukh will be designing the Film city. The filmmakers who normally have to take lot of efforts to find a good location will now find a better option to shoot their films. Off course, Marathi films and Television Soaps will get precedence & also get a discount in the rates for hiring the facilities in this proposed film city. Actor Sushant Shelar and the entire team of Maharashtra Kalanidhi are working on the project. Mr. Nitesh Rane of Maharashtra Kalanidhi is personally looking after the project and it is his aim to make the Konkan film city well equipped with state of art technology.
Music of new Marathi film ‘Headline’ launched

‘Headline’ is the name of new Marathi film Produced under the Banner of Masti Entertainment. The music of this film was launched recently, along with the first look of the film. Adv. Ganesh Satpute, Actor Sourabh Gokhle, Prasad Oak were the attraction of the programme; while known people from social, political, and educational industry were also present on the occasion. Music of this film is composed by Prasad-Avadhoot.
Through this film, two new faces Nikhil Wairagar and Ajinkya Jadhav are being introduced to the big screen . The other popular artists in the film are Prasad Oak, Siya Patil, Wandana Waknis , Deepak karanjekar , Shashwati Pimplikar , Ravi Mhajan , Mhoini kulkarni, Vinayak Garude, and child artist Omkar Boarkar . The story of this movie is written by Adv. Aarti Jadhav . Screenplay and dialogues by Pradeep Raghunath, Cameraman Charudatta Dukhande , Dance director Pappu khanna and Director is Sunil Waikar are other credits .The film is all set to release on 28th February 2014.
Four directors come together for ‘Bioscope’

Four reputed directors of Marathi film industry, namely Gajendra Ahire, Ravi Jadhav ,Girish Mohite and Viju Mane are coming together to attempt an unusual experiment. They are presently making a film ‘Bioscope‘ which is based on the stories of poems penned by 3 Marathi and one famous Urdu poet. Each director has developed one story from every poem.
‘Bioscope‘ will also have four different music directors, namely Avinash-Vishwajeet, Dr. Salil Kulkarni, Narendra Bhide & Chinar-Mahesh to offer a variety. Above all, the star cast of this film comprises of Neena Kulkarni, Suhas Palshikar, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Veena Jamkar, Mangesh Desai, Smita Tambe, Kushal Badrike, Spruha Joshi and others.
Ankush – Sonali in Aditya Sarpotdar’s next film
Now, after Bollywood, even our Marathi film makers seem to be inspired by some of the hit South films. Well, we are all aware that hit Malyalam film ‘Classmate’ of 2006 was inspired by the plot from the famous English Novel ‘ A Wedding in December’ written by Anita Shreve ; which acutely probes the mysteries of the human heart and the endless allure of paths not taken.
Later, this film was also made in other South Indian languages. Now, film maker Aditya Sarpotdar is also inspired by the original novel and this Malyalam film. Latest news is that he has signed Ankush Chaudhari and Sonali Kulkarni ( Jr.)to play the leads roles in this film titled ‘Classmate- Maitra Jivhache’ .
For this Marathi adaptation, he has also engaged Kshitij Patvardhan and Sameer Vidwans to write the script suitable to Marathi audience. Executive producer of this film Mr. Suresh Pai has acquired necessary rights to make this film. So, after adaptation from Bengalee Novel , for his previous film ‘Narbachi Wadi’, now, Aditya Sarpaotdar is working on this English novel. The film is likely to be launched in March 2014. How many more Marathi film makers are making such South film remakes. Let us wait and see.a
‘Campus Cutta’ shooting in progress
Director Sanjeev Kolte is presently busy shooting for his next film ‘Campus Cutta’ at actual college location, at Wadgaon, Pune; to give a realistic look for this film. Recently, he picturised some important scenes on lead actor Santosh Juvekar , Vikram Gokhale and others, at the huge campus of Sinhagad Institute, Pune.
Santosh is playing a protagonist ,whose father is a honest Police Inspector. For ten long years he is studying in the same college, fighting against corruption. Vikram Gokhale, who is the Principal of the college, initially misunderstands him; but after knowing his mission, indirectly supports him. Namrata Gaikwad, is playing Santosh Juvekar’s wife in this film, while Sheetal Dabholkar plays his strong supporter in the college. In this film Arun Nalawade and Milind Shinde have different roles to play. The film also stars Kishori Shahane, Prafull Samant and newcomer Rahul Dongre.
Three new Marathi films for Friday release

Marathi film lovers have a choice from among three films this Friday. There is a romantic musical love story ‘Prem Pahila Vahila‘ with new lead pair of Sanjay Shejwal and Disha Pardeshi, directed by Yogesh Raool , which is set on the backdrop of Kolhapur. The film which is a love triangle ,with screenplay and dialogues by Nilesh Kunjur, Music by Pallav Swaroop and editing by Hrishikesh Joshi .
The second film is based on an unfortunate real life incident of Khairlanji massacre, where a Dalit family was killed by villagers due to land dispute. The film had already raised controversy, as the only survivor of the family Bhaiyalal Bhotmange had threatened to go to the court, when he was shown the film before its release. He was not happy with the projection of his own and his daughter’s character. But, now it seems that the issue has been resolved. Directed by Raju Meshram, the film stars Kishori Shahane along with Dipak Balraj Vij, Anant Jog, Dr Vilas Ujavane, Milind Shinde, Dr Sandeep Patil and debutant Pratiksha Mungekar.
The third film to be released is a commercial multi-starrer film ‘Sangharsh‘ directed by R. Viraj, whose previous film was ‘Shyamche Vadil‘. This time, Viraj has preferred to offer a typical commercial Marathi film with all the ingredients such as Action, emotion, music all in one, on the backdrop of chawl culture in Mumbai, which shows unity among the residents, when it is fight against injustice. Starring Rajesh Shringarpure, Sangeeta Kapure, Prajakta Mali, Nakul Ghanekar, Anshuman Vichare, Madhavi Nimkar, Devdatt Nage, Sulbha AayGurav, Arun Nalwade,Amita Khopkar, Sushant Shelar, Dr.Vilas Ujavane and others;the film’s music is composed by Nishikant Sadafule & Bapi Tutul with cinematography by Sandy.
Now, it remains to be seen, which film gets maximum response. The next three days booking, will show the results.
