‘Ajinkya’ launch ‘first look’ with a difference
Well known Marathi actor Sandeep Kulkarni was the centre of attraction at Status Restaurant, Mahim, on Wednesday evening; when first look of his forthcoming film ‘Ajinkya’ was officially released with clippings from the film with songs. The ceremony had special significance with a specially decorated dais scattered with Basketballs,giving a look of a sports related event.
Since the film is based on the personal life of a Basketball Coach, Producer Sandeep Kewlani and director Tejas Deoskar, both basketball players from Nagpur, had invited two personalities from basketball field, namely Ms. Janhavi Prabhu- former India basketball team captain and Mr. Kumar Joshi a former University Basketball Coach, as special guests on the occasion. Mr. Nishikant Kamat, who directed ‘Dombivali fast’ and ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ was the chief guest to officially announce the launch of film’s website.
Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Kulkarni thanked the producer and director Tejas Deooskar, whom he knew since his previous film ‘Pratisaad’, story of which was written by him. “Success is a journey, not destination…the journey has begun… Now, join us on 26th December at nearby theatres,” he appealed to all. Instead of speaking about the role himself, he asked the show anchor to ask questions to the two sports dignitaries invited for the event.
While Ms. Jahnavi Prabhu said that her personal experience in life, being a basketball player and a housewife , was good; as her parents and later her husband supported her. “When one of the partners is achieving something extra ordinary, the other partner has to make some adjustment,” she said. Mr. Kumar Joshi felt that the film was his own story, as he himself had to work hard as a coach, besides managing his State Bank job and commitments with his wife. “My wife always kept asking me, whether others who played with me earlier at competitive level; were also busy like me? But, then, it was my passion for this game, that kept me going,” he reacted.
Kadambari Kadam, who plays the leading lady in the role of Sandeep’s wife in this film, said that the story of this film and her role as a V.P. of a big corporate, appealed to her. ” It was good experience working with all my co stars and the director,” she said. Mr. Nishikant kamat wished the team a grand success and said that it was always his own wish to make a film with sports background. Also present on the occasion were few other co stars like Dipti Potdar and other well wishers -like actor, Shishir Sharma, actress and model Pallavi Subhash, Sharvari Patankar, music director of the film Susmit Limaye, singer Milind Ingale. Samira Gujar anchored the event.

Sonali Kulkarni making a comeback through ‘Pune 52′
Actress Sonali Kulkarni performed in Bollywood and Marathi films simultaneously in the past. Now, after taking a break, she is making a comeback in Marathi through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Pune 52’. In this film, Sonali plays a middle class housewife. Set on the backdrop of Pune city during the 90s era, the film presents her in an important role of Prachi Apte, who is the wife of a secret agent played by Girish Kulkarni. The film is based on their personal life.
Made under the banner of Indian Magic Eye Motion Pictures and Aarbhaat Nirmitee of Girish and Umesh Kulkarni, the film is directed by debutant Nikhil Mahajan, who has studied from International Film School, Sydney, Australia. The film’s story and screenplay is written by Nikhil himself, while the dialogues are penned by Girish Kulkarni. Besides Girish and Sonali, the film also stars SaieTamhankar, Kiran Karmarkar, Bharati Achrekar, Shrikant Yadav and popular lyricist Swanand Kirkire in a special role. Cinematography by Jeremy Reagen from new Zealand and music by Atif Afzal are other credits. The film is all set for release on 18th January 2013.
Sad demise of Anand Abhyankar and Akshay Pendse in a road accident
Popular actors of Marathi entertainment industry Anand Abhyankar and Akshay Pendse died during mid night hours of Monday in a road accident. Mr. Abhyankar and Mr.Pensde were traveling in a Wagan R from Pune to Mumbai on Express Highway, when a tempo coming from opposite direction climbed on the road divider and rammed into their car. Mr. Pendse’ two year old son Pratyush also died in the accident. However, his wife, who was admitted to the hospital for minor injuries was sent home.
Mr. Anand Abhyankar who was traveling with Mr. Pendse’s family after completing shooting; had asked his driver to take rest and was himself driving the vehicle, when this unfortunate accident took place all of a sudden near Urse Toll Check post. Both the actors originally belong to Pune. Therefore, their bodies were taken to Pune to their respective homes, where their parents lived. Mr. Abhaynkar’s family members comprising of his wife Anjali, daughter Sanica and son Neeraj had already rushed from his Mumbai residence in Thakur Village, kandivali, to Pune during mid night hours after hearing the shocking news.
The cremation of both the actors took place today afternoon at Vaikunth , Pune, in presence of large number of artistes from Marathi Film industry. Both the actors were currently performing in Zee Marathi’s serial ‘ Mala Sasu Havi’. Known for his roles in Hindi films like ‘Vastav’, ‘Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehata Hai’and many marathi films, Anand Abhyankar had also performed in Hindi serial ‘Tarak Mehta ka Ulta Chasma’. He gave a memorable performance in Marathi TV serial ‘Asambhav’. Akashay Pendse, who is also as an upcoming actor, had performed on Marathi stage. He was playing a prominent role of Anand Abhyanksr’s son in ongoing serial ‘Mala Sasu Havi’.
With their untimely demise, Marathi entertainment industry has lost two talented actors. In fact, Marathi Movie World had planned Mr. Anand Abhyankar’s interview today over phone, as he had agreed to call us at 2 pm for telephonic talk. Marathi Movie World prays for their soul to rest in peace.
Welcome to Jungle’ , New Science Fiction Film in Marathi
Efforts are being made by Marathi film producers to attract audience to the theatres One such attempt has been made be in the form of the upcoming Marathi feature film ‘Welcome to Jungle’. This will be the first Science Fiction Film being made in the Marathi filmdom. Equipped with high quality graphics using VFS and Chroma technologies matching with standard of Hollywood films, as claimed by the makers.
Directed by Sanjay Jadhav and written by Nitin Kulkarni under the production banner of ‘Guru-Mauli Creations’, the star-cast of the film includes debutant hero Devendra, popular actress Deepali Sayaad, Ruchita Jadhav and Milind Shinde, playing the respective lead roles along with other prominent artistes like Tejashree Khele, Nitin Kulkarni, Dadu, Ganesh Mayekar, Anil Rabade and Vijay Chavan. A special attraction of this film is that renowned actor-director-producer Mahesh Kothare shall be appearing in a special role before the audiences of the film.
Devendra, who made his debut in the film ‘Sambha – Aajachaa Chavaa’, has personally staked himself in several thrillingly breathtaking and dare-devil stunts without using any dummy in this film. The film has been shot in almost a single shooting schedule in the region of Rankala Lake and Jayaprabha Studio of Kolhapur and through the rough terrain of Amba-Vishalgad forest. ‘Ektaa Kala Gaurav award’ for Uma & Praksah Bhende
Veteran actress Uma and her husband Prakash Bhende, the veteran actor and film maker will receive this year’s ‘Ektaa Kala Gaurav award’. The award function will be held at Sahitya Sangh Mandir, on 12th January 2012. Besides these two artistes other artistes like Anil Gavas, Mayur Vaidya and Anand Shinde. Deepak Parab will be honoured for his contribution to the field of Journalism. Few more awards will also be given to other renowned people from cultural and literary field.
Prior to this award function, the Ektaa Cultural Academy have organized cultural events on 28th and 29th December 2012. President of Ektaa Academy Mr. Prakash Jadhav has appealed to collegians from Mumbai to participate in various competitions to be held on these two days at Sahitya Sangh Mandir.
Sanajy Jadhav’s next ‘Duniyadari’ launched
Known for his action packed films like ‘Checkmate’, ‘Ringa Ringa’ and ‘Fakta ladh Mhana’ Cinematographer- director Sanjay Jadhav has launched his new Marathi film ‘Duniyadari’ with a Muhurat performed recently. The ceremony took place with a song recording of singers Adarsh Shinde and Kirti Killedar in presence of artistes and technical team of the film.
The film is produced by Sanjay Jadhav and is based on the best selling novel of Suhas Shirvalkar with the same name. The big team of artistes comprise of Ankush Choudhary, Swapnil Joshi, Jitendra Joshi, Sandeep Kulkarni, Uday Tikekar, Uday Sabnis, Sushant ShelarSushant Shelar, Sai TamhankarSai Tamhankar, Urmila Kanitkar and Varsha Usgaonkar. The film will have three music directors including Amitraj and Pankaj. Scrennplay- dialogues by Chinmay Mandlekar, Cinematography by Prasad Bhende and choreography by Umesh jadhav are other credits.
‘Radha Hee Bawaree’ on Zee Marathi from 24th Dec
‘Radha Hi Bawaree’, which claims to be a fresh love story with a progressive theme will begin from 24th Dec’12 at 7:30 PM.on Zee Marathi channel. This serial explores the emotions that a woman undergoes when she experiences love in its most purest and sincere form.

Tejaswini Pandit weds Bhushan Bopche
Popular Marathi Film, TV and stage actress Tejaswini Pandit tied her nuptial knot with Bhushan Bopche from Gondia. Bhushan is the son of industrialist Rameshwar Roopchand Bopche. The marriage ceremony took place in Gondia on Sunday 16th December 2012, as per reliable sources.
Tejaswini is the daughter of Jyoti Chandekar Pandit who is also well known marathi actress. She has recently won many awards for her performance s in films like ‘Vavtal’ and ‘Mee Sindhutai Sakpal’, She has also performed in films like Gaiir, Ranbhool, Target, Bluffmaster. She is also part of ongoing serial like ‘Kalaaay Tasmay Namah!’ and was also part of serials like ‘Lajja’ and ‘Tujha Ni Majha Ghar Shrimantacha’. Grand Release of Music and first look of Vijay Aso! Marathi Movie
Arth Motion Pictures, who produced a sensible film ‘Manya- the Wondrer Boy’in 2011are now back with their 2nd production in association with Nirmit Nirmiti Films, under the direction of Cinematographer turned director Rahul Jadhav, who also makes his debut in direction through this film. Script written by popular actor Chinmay Mandlekar, assisted by Vivek Gore in the screenplay, the film presents Chinmay Mandlekar in the lead, opposite Namrata Gaikwad.
On Friday night, the first look and music CD of this film, was released in presence of artistes, technical team, media persons and invitees. Sachin Pilgaonkar, the chief guest on the occasion, while presiding over the function, said that he had seen the film and liked it. “I appeal to all my friends and well wishers through this speech to please watch Marathi films in theatresMarathi films in theatres. There are good, quality entertainment films made by new producers and the audience should boost their morale with their physical presence in the theatres.”
Sachin was all praise for Cinematographer turned Director Rahul Jadhav , who had worked with him in his past projects and was confident about the film’s success. Clippings of three songs from this film were also shown to the invitees besides the promo. The film’s music is by debutant Amitraj, who was praised by the director of this film, on this occasion. Chinmay Mandlekar, who is playing the lead role in this film, expressed satisfaction over the treatment he received from the director for his story. Namrata Gaikwad thanked Chinmay for providing a better scope for her, in this film.
Another attraction of this film is Bollywood actor Murali Sharma, who plays a prominent negative character of a Politician. Murali, who was present on the occasion, said, “The story is the hero and dialogues are super hero of this film.” He thanked the makers for finding this suitable role for him. Ganesh Yadav, who plays an important role of a Journalist in this film, was not present. Mahesh Manjrekar and Avadhoot Gupte to direct Raees Lashkaria’s next two films
Raees Lashkaria, well known builder, promoter of Sports, social worker connected with healthcare and education from Mumbai; entered Marathi film industry as a producer through his debut film ‘ Swarajya -Marathi Paul Padate Pudhe’ with its launch on 10.10.10 and release on 11.11.11, seems to be believing in numerology a lot. ‘Swarajya ’ was a hit film with tall and handsome Rajesh Shrigarpure playing the angry young man, who later grabbed the role in a Hollywood film ‘Seal team Six.
Now on the 12.12.12 evening, he made official announcement of his next two films at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Santacruz, Mumbai in presence of media persons and special invitees.
After anchor of this function Samira Gujar invited him to the dais, she introduced him as a strong supporter of Mr. Raj Thackeray. Incidentally, Sharmila Thackeray, who was supposed to come for the function, was not present during the announcement ceremony.

Both of them appreciated his debut film as a producer ‘Swarajya- Marathi Paul Padate Pudhe’. Now, all eyes on the selection of artistes for these two films. But, those spotted on the occasion were few popular Marathi artistes like Rajesh Shringarpure, Santosh Juvekar, Nirmiti Sawant, Hemangi kavi Dhumal, Swapnil Bandodkar and Sanjay Khapre. The director duo of Raees Lashkaria’s first film ‘Swarajya’-Vishal Ghag was busy making all arrangements for successful conduct of the function.
