No Entry- Pudhe Dhoka Aahe’ launched with Mahurat in Goa

The Bollywood Film ‘No Entry’ which turned out to be a Box office hit, for its comedy content, is now being remade in Marathi titled, ‘Pudhe Dhoka Aahey’. The film is an Underground Films Pvt. Ltd. presentation, directed by Milind Arun Kavde. It is produced by Premnath Rajagopalan and Nikhil Saini.
The Mahurat of this Marathi version took place on 16th May, 2012 at Kala Academy, Campal, Panaji at 10 am at the hands of Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister, Govt. of Goa in the presence of Milind Naik, Power Minister, Government of Goa and Vishnu Wagh, Chairman Kala Academy and MLA St. Andre.
The star cast includes well-known actors from Marathi Cinema , like Bharat Jadhav, Kranti Redkar, Ankush Choudhary, Saie Tamhankar, Aniket Vishwasrao, Manava Naik, Sai Lokur and Paddy (Pandharinath Kamble). The film will be entirely shot in picturesque locales in and around Goa.
Stars Kranti Redkar, Sai Lokur, Bharat Jadhav and Aniket Vishwasrao gave an energy-packed Mahurat shot. Others, who were present on the occasion were Narayan (Nanabab) Bandekar of NRB Group, Shashank Mahatme (Caculo Mall), Govind Shirodkar, Shripad Shetye, Dnyanesh Moghe, Dawn Mortimer, Rajendra Usapkar, Durguesh Angle and others.
The event was well-attended by others from the social circuit and local press representatives.
Saheb’ to release on 25th May

n Maharashtra, the political leaders are addressed as Saheb. But, the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Saheb’ presents a different kind of sahib, who is neither a selfish politician nor a cunning Government servant. He is a protagonist, in the form of Robinhood, who helps the poor who are victims of this corruption in Government and injustice in this society.
Produced by advocate Vandana Santosh Jadhav , the film is written and directed by Vilas Kamble. Music by Baba- Vilas and camera by Gopal De are the other credits. The film’s star cast comprises of Amol kolhe, Mohan Joshi, Ramesh Bhatkar, Aniket Kelkar, Sanjay Mohite, Prajakta kelkar, Suchit Jadhav, Sonal Awahad and others.
Global Marathi TV Awards trophy launched by Big ‘B’

Marathi Television channels are going global, with the variety of programmes offered. To encourage the Marathi Television industry and their artistes, the first Marathi Global Television awards will be presented on 18th May, in Dubai. The Trophy for these awards was recently launched by Big ‘B’ Amitabh Bachchan.
Almost all the electronic channels connected with Marathi programmes and Marathi news are associated with these awards ceremony . There will be about 27 awards in different categories. Ms. Rohini Hattangadi will be conferred with the Lifetime Achievement award.
This programme will be telecast on different channels like Zee Marathi, Star Pravah, E TV, Saam Marathi, Mi Marathi and DD simultaneously on 3rd June 2012

‘Ajintha’ still facing the ire of Banjara community

Film making is a very sensitive issue, especially when you are showing something related to the history. If you deviate from the reality, you are bound to land into controversy.
Nitin Chandrakant Desai’s so called dream project ‘Ajintha’, which is based on the discovery of the famous Ajanta caves in Aurangabad, had landed into controversy. The reason being that the Banjara community objected to the film’s release, for deviating from certain facts.
The Censor Board members, who viewed the film yesterday, have given green signal to its official release today. But, the people belonging to Banjara Community have moved to the court and it is understood that the Mumbai High Court will give its decision Friday.
New dance Show ‘Sujalam Sufalam Bharat’.

No matter, which part of the world he lives, every Indian is proud to be an Indian, for the diversified culture and bonding witnessed in this unique country. Keeping this in mind, The Academy of Indian Art and Culture, will be presenting a stage show ‘Sujalam Sufalam Bharat’, which will depict the culture of India through song and dance related to 28 different states of this country.
The inaugural stage shows of this programme will be held at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai between 14th and 16th May 2012, daily at 7 pm, followed by a show in thane at Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar Natyagriha on 17thMay. Produced by Jaywant Golatkar and Swapnil Kote, this programme which is directed and choreographed by Devendra Shelar, will be presented by Mr. Kiran Shantaram. Mr. Pramod Pawar has written the script of this show, with Production management by Purushottam Berde. A team 60 artistes will present 28 different dance forms from different parts of India.
Music released for new film ‘Baburao La Pakada’

hether it is Music release function or any other function related to Marathi films, it is always delayed by more than an hour. On Saturday evening at 7.30 pm, the Music release of forthcoming film ‘Baburao La Pakada’ was scheduled at Hotel Kings International, Juhu. But, this new venue which was perhaps convenient to the Producers, turned out to be overcrowded with no place to sit for the invitees. Moreover, there was delay by 90 minutes to start the function, which was presided over by director of this film, Mr. Aashish Ubale.
At the beginning of the function, he made it clear that none of the actors from this multi-starrer film, would be present for the function. He declared that he wished to invite all those behind music of the film, since it was the music release of the film. Accordingly, a special guest from American Consulate, was asked to release the Music CD, in the presence of Producers Tanmay Sengupta , Ashish Kumar Kshirsagar and co producer Milan Tari. Bollywood Music director duo- Durga and Natraj, who have composed music for this film, spoke in Marathi stating that it was their privilege to serve the Marathi film industry.
Director Aashish Ubale thanked all the unit members on this occasion and presented the promo of this film besides screening four out of the five songs from this film, which have been shot in Bangkok. He specifically mentioned that one of the producers and one Music director were Bengalees , associated with a Marathi film, for the first time. The film is due for release on 25th May 2012 and stars a big team of artistes comprising of Sanjay Narvekar, Bahrat Jadhav, Makarand Anaspure, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Nisha Parulekar, Saie Tamhankar, Siya Patil, Meena kanwar, Amruta Deshmukh, Abhijit Chavan and Ashwinkumar Kshirsagar.
Harshdeep Kaur to make her debut in Marathi

Known for some of her famous songs in Bollywood films like ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Band Bajaa Baraat’, ‘Desi Boyz’, Hrashdeep Kaur, the winner of two reality shows on TV, will now be making her debut as a singer in Marathi. Harshdeep has recorded a duet along with Sa Re Ga Ma fame Rohit Raut, who is also making his debut as a singer, in the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Mr. Na Na Nakose’.
Made under the banner of Prapti Films, the lyrics of this song has been b penned by Tanveer Gazi and Pankaj- Pushkar have provided the music for this film. Directed by Sanjay- Mohammed, the film stars Bharat Jadhav in title role along with Kishori Shahane, Adinath Kothare, Tanvi Parab, Ashish Gade, Viju Khote, Bharat Dabholkar, Kedar Shinde, Sunil Pal, Nakul Ghanekar and Nisha Parulekar.

’10 December’ – a new film based on a real story

We have been hearing a lot about the cases of female foeticide in India. The Planning Commission has cautioned all the states against female foeticide and asked the state governments to ensure that every girl child is allowed to be born. The situation in Maharashtra is no different than other states. Today, Feature films play very important role to create awareness among the people about this issue, especially at a time when women are making progress in every field along with men.
Producer – Director Kanchan Adhikari is now taking up this new subject through her next film ’10 December’, muhurat of which was performed recently on the auspicious Akshaya Trutiya day. The film is based on a novel ‘Chaufula’ written by Anuradha Vaidya, which is a real story of a happening in Parabhani district of Maharashtra. The film’s shooting will be completed by end of May and the Producers Bhausaheb Bhoir and Kanchan Adhikari intend to release the film sometime in July- august 2012.
The film’s star cast comprises of Pratiksha Lonkar, Sharad Ponkshe, Mohan Joshi, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Neha Gadre, Sushant Shelar and Aishwarya Tupe.
