“‘Popat’ is my first outing with the rural backdrop”- Satish Rajwade
Known for his successful sensible Marathi films like ‘Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai’ & ‘Premachi Goshta’, film maker Satish Rajwade is now all set to release his latest film ‘Popat’ starring Atul Kulkarni, Amey Wagh, Siddharth Menon and Ketan Pawar along with Anita Date, Neha Shitole and Megha Ghadge. To be presented by Mirah Entertainment, the film will be officially released all over Maharashtra on 23rd august 2013.
The first look of this film was shown to the media persons on Tuesday afternoon, clearly indicating that it was an entertaining film. Director Satish Rajwade calls it “an incredible, inspiring, creative and highly entertaining work and can’t find enough words to describe it. “Till Date I have been labelled as a very urban storyteller with city centric subjects. POPAT is my first outing with the rural backdrop and rural dialect. POPAT is targeted towards a wider audience which will keep both the urban and interior Maharashtra interested,” says Rajwade. According to him, POPAT comes purely as creative decision since the subject demanded that kind of innocence and vulnerability.
The screenplay and dialogues of this film are by Chinmay Kelkar and the story by Satish Rajwade. Bhaskar Samala is the director of photography with the music score by Avinash-Vishwajeet. The choreographer is Phulwa Khamkar, editing by Rajesh Rao and make-up by Santosh Gayake. Pallavi Rajwade has designed the costumes and the singers involved are Swapnil Bandodkar, Bela Shende, Prasanajeet and Maithilee Panes Joshi. Umesh Shinde is the executive producer.
