After 28 years Neelakanti Patekar returns to big screen
28 years ago, Neelakanti Patekar was seen in a lifetime role, in Sachin Pilgaonkar’s film ‘Aatmavishvaas‘. At that time, she had received instant appreciation from critics, for her memorable role. But, for the past 28 years, we had not seen Neelakanti Patekar in any films, except for the news that she was being considered for the role of Nana Patekar‘s screen wife in the film ‘Natsamrat‘. But, that did not happen, as the role went to Medha Manjrekar.
Now, we hear that Neelakanti, will be making a comeback on big screen, through Producer-director Neelima Lonari‘s forthcoming Marathi film ‘ Bernie‘ , which is all set to release on 17th June 2016. In this film she is playing the most important role of Clara, mother of Bernie, which is played by beautiful Tejaswini Lonari. Speaking about her role in this film, Neelakanti Patekar said, “Long ago I had read this novel ‘Jogin’ written by Subhash Bhende. Since this film is inspired by this novel, I immediately agreed to play this role.” Apart from Neelakanti Patekar and Tejaswini Lonari, the film also stars versatile artistes like Rajan Tamhane, Bhushan Patil, Girish Pardeshi, Savita Malpekar, Sumukhi Pendse, Mausami Tondvalkar, Radhika Deshpande and others. Music by Amitraj & camera by Sameer Athalye are other credits.
