Sad demise of Anand Abhyankar and Akshay Pendse in a road accident
Popular actors of Marathi entertainment industry Anand Abhyankar and Akshay Pendse died during mid night hours of Monday in a road accident. Mr. Abhyankar and Mr.Pensde were traveling in a Wagan R from Pune to Mumbai on Express Highway, when a tempo coming from opposite direction climbed on the road divider and rammed into their car. Mr. Pendse’ two year old son Pratyush also died in the accident. However, his wife, who was admitted to the hospital for minor injuries was sent home.
Mr. Anand Abhyankar who was traveling with Mr. Pendse’s family after completing shooting; had asked his driver to take rest and was himself driving the vehicle, when this unfortunate accident took place all of a sudden near Urse Toll Check post. Both the actors originally belong to Pune. Therefore, their bodies were taken to Pune to their respective homes, where their parents lived. Mr. Abhaynkar’s family members comprising of his wife Anjali, daughter Sanica and son Neeraj had already rushed from his Mumbai residence in Thakur Village, kandivali, to Pune during mid night hours after hearing the shocking news.
The cremation of both the actors took place today afternoon at Vaikunth , Pune, in presence of large number of artistes from Marathi Film industry. Both the actors were currently performing in Zee Marathi’s serial ‘ Mala Sasu Havi’. Known for his roles in Hindi films like ‘Vastav’, ‘Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehata Hai’and many marathi films, Anand Abhyankar had also performed in Hindi serial ‘Tarak Mehta ka Ulta Chasma’. He gave a memorable performance in Marathi TV serial ‘Asambhav’. Akashay Pendse, who is also as an upcoming actor, had performed on Marathi stage. He was playing a prominent role of Anand Abhyanksr’s son in ongoing serial ‘Mala Sasu Havi’.
With their untimely demise, Marathi entertainment industry has lost two talented actors. In fact, Marathi Movie World had planned Mr. Anand Abhyankar’s interview today over phone, as he had agreed to call us at 2 pm for telephonic talk. Marathi Movie World prays for their soul to rest in peace.
