Popular Bollywood film maker Anees Bazmi will be presenting the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Jaaran’ along with producers Amol Bhagat and Nitin Bhalchandra Kulkarni. Directed by Hrishikesh Gupte, recently the terrifying teaser of this film was released on social media. According to the director ‘Jaaran’ presents the psychic and emotional conflict faced by a family while countering ‘Jaaran’ which means black magic.

Producer Amol Bhagat says that after the poster of the film ‘Jarann’ raised curiosity among film lovers; now the teaser of the film has made them more curious about the subject of this film. This film stars Amruta Subhash and Anita Datey in lead roles along with Kishore Kadam, Jyoti Malshe, Vikram Gaikwad, Rajan Bhise, Avani Joshi and Seema Deshmukh.

 The 70^th National best film awards have been announced recently. Paresh Mokashi’s film ‘Vaalvi’  has bagged the best Marathi film National award this year. This thrill-com film produced by Zee Studios and Maysabha Karmanook Mandali is directed by Paresh Mokashi. With story, screenplay and dialogues by Paresh Mokashi and Madugandha Kulkarni, this film stars Swapnil Joshi, Anita Date, Subodh Bhave and Shivani Surve in the lead roles.

‘Vaalvi’ being the first Marathi thrill-com film had received good response even from Non Marathi film lovers, because of its new subject. Reacting to this happy moment, Director Paresh Mokashi said, “This is a very happy moment. This award is not my individual award, but it is for my entire team. I am also grateful to the audience.

Popular Marathi artistes Anita Date, Sagar Deshmukh and Pushkaraj Chirputkar are all set to entertain the Marathi drama lovers through their new Marathi play ‘Kirkol Navare’ from 11^th August 2023. This play produced by Anamika and Yuvanjani Natak Mandali and presented by Saisakshi is written and directed by Sagar Deshmukh.

With its tagline to offer non stop entertainment this play is expected to make the audience laugh and at the same time enlighten them through entertainment. All the three lead artistes are confident that the audience would enjoy watching this play. Music by Saurabh Bhalerao, lyrics by Jitendra Joshi, lighting by Vikrant Thakar and costumes up by Sonal Kharade are the other credits.

The biopic on legend of Hindustani Classical music Pandit Vasantrao Deshpande (मी वसंतराव) is now ready for release on 1st April 2022 on the auspicious occasion of Gudhi Padwa. Presented by Jio Studios, produced by Chandrashekhar Gokhale, Darshan Desai and Niranjan Kirloskar this film is directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari and stars Rahul Deshpande , grandson of Vasantrao Deshpande, in lead role. Along with Rahul Dehpande, the film also stars Anita Date, Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Kaumudi Valokar and Amey Wagh in lead roles.

Besides playing title role, Rahul Deshpande has also provided music for this film. Speaking about his film, Rahul says, “The dream I saw 9 years ago, is being fulfilled through the release of this film. I am really thankful to my friends Nipun, Shekhar, Shrikant, Niranjan and other friends who took lot of efforts in making of this film.” Director Nipun Dharmadhikari also feels that the hard work by his entire team for the past 9 years, is finally watching the results. “I am sure the audience will appreciate this film,” he said.

Rahul Deshpande , Well Known classical Singer and grandson of Late Vasnatrao Deshpande will be making his acting debut in Marathi films through this film playing the title role of his grandfather. Speaking about his role, Rahul said that till now he has been carrying forward the family tradition with his devotion towards classical singing. Many top actors began their acting career as character artistes. They didn’t land in this tinsel world directly as lead artistes. If we talk about Marathi serials, Good days are here, for character artistes. Now, take the example of Anita Date, who has played character roles in many Marathi & Hindi plays, serials and films. Now, all of a sudden she has found a lead role in new Marathi serial ‘Majhya Navryachi Baiko’ which will go on the air today. Anita plays the wife of popular TV & Film actor Abhijeet Khandkekar.

Another character actress Sayali Deodhar, whom we saw in a small role in the serial ‘Julun Yeti Reshimgathi’ has found an important parallel female role in the ongoing  serial ‘Lek Majhi Ladki’. Abhijit Amkar, who played a character role of Swarda Thigale‘s friend in college, in the serial ‘Majhe Mann Tujhe Zhale’, has found a lead role of Siddhu in ongoing serial ‘TujhyaVachun Karmena’ and he is really doing good.

One more character artiste, whom we saw in the role of Saiprasad, one of the office colleague, who joins the office  of Suyash and Suruchi, almost towards the end of the serial, has found the lead role of Dr.Vikrant in the ongoing popular serial ‘Khulta kali Khulwna’. And, he is really playing his role with complete understanding of his character. Similarly, Abhidnya Bhave, whom we saw in the team of five girls in ‘Lagori Returns’ is playing lead role of Dr.Vikrant’s wife- Monika , with lot more to her share, besides better scope to present her acting talent.

This clearly indicates that the makers of the serial are in search of the artistes, who would suit perfectly, for the characters in their serial.

Radio Jockey turned actor Abhijit Khandkekar, who made his successful debut through Zee Marathi’s popular serial ‘Majhiya Priyala Preet Kalena‘ six years ago, had later shifted his priority to Marathi cinema. Luckily, Abhijit got his first break in Marathi films, through Avadhoot Gupte’s film ‘Jai Maharashtra Dhaba Bhatinda‘ . Later, he did try to establish himself through films like ‘Mamachya Gavala Jaoo Ya‘ and ‘Dhol Tashe‘. But, both these films didn’t do well, in spite of his good performance.

Abhijit Khandkekar  is now returning to small screen, with Zee Marathi‘s new serial ‘Majhya Navryachi Baiko‘, which is all set to air from 22^nd August 2016 at 8 pm slot. Another talented stage and TV actress Anita Date is playing his wife in this serial, while Rasika Dhabadgaonkar plays his office colleague. Produced by Tejendra Nesvankar, the story of this serial is written by Rohini Ninave & Abhijit Guru. And by Kedar Vaidya. Other artistes in this serial are, Arun Nalawade, Suhita Thatte & Shweta Mehendale.
