‘Arunoday’- Sunrise finds entry at Busan Film Festival

Arunoday marathi flimPartho Sen Gupta’s Marathi film ‘Arunoday -Sunrise‘ has found its official entry at the forthcoming ‘Busan International film Festival’, scheduled to begin from 2nd October 2014. ‘Arunoday – Sunrise‘ will be the only Indian film , selected among the 12 best films in the New currents section, of this festival.

The other eleven films are from countries like Japan, South Korea, China, Iran, Philippines, Bangladesh and other countries. This festival is the largest market for films from Asian countries for onward transmission to the world. And, for India and Marathi films, it is a moment of pride.

The film is set on the backdrop of Mumbai, with Police officer Joshi shown in search of his missing daughter for 10 long years. NDS actor Adil Hussain plays the lead role in this film, in the company of Tanishtha Chatterjee, Ashalata Wabgavkar, Isha Amlani ,Chinmay kambli & Gulnaz Ansari. The world premiere of this film will be held during the festival.

Partho Sengupta to make high quality Marathi film ‘Arunoday’

Marathi films are having a good time. More and more well known production houses from Hindi are coming forward to produce Marathi films. But now, well known director Partho Sengupta who shot into fame with his internationally acclaimed film ‘Hava Aane Do’, is now making a international standard Marathi film with two leading non Marathi artistes. One of them is Adil Hussain whom we saw in films like ‘Life of Pi’, ‘English Vinglish’ and latest released film ‘Lootera’ and the other is national award winning actress Tanishtha Chatterjee. Veteran actress Ashala Wabgaonkar will also be seen in special role in this film.

Highlight of this film is that the camera is handled by Joe Mark Ferier from France and the music is composed by Erric Aabecasis from Algeria. Dialogues of the film are written by Yogesh Vinayak Joshi. The film’s shooting shooting is now over and the post production work will take place in France. The film is produced by Rakesh Mehra with the support of 156 investors, who have raised 72 Thousand Dollars to make this film.
