Four Marathi films release together
Friday 12th September was perhaps considered as most auspicious for four Marathi film makers. Also, the biggest festival of Maharashtra coming to an end, the Marathi film producers also thought that it was the right time for them to release their films. So, four films, with different subjects, made their entry today at theatres all over Maharashtra. Prominent among them was ‘Guru Pournima‘ which promised ‘A lovable story’. With the pairing of Upendra Limaye and Sai Tamhankar together, the film has already become the topic of discussion among Marathi film lovers. Nowthat, they have come to know about the double role played by Sai Tamhankar, the film has raised expectations.
Looking at ‘Gulabi‘ another Marathi film, released this Friday; it is expected that this film will be clearly a conflict between duty and beauty. But, having come to know that it is inspired from V. Shantaram’s 1971 film ‘Pinjara‘, it remains to be seen, how the film is accepted by today’s audience? Only Sachin Khedekar cannot pull the crowds. So, hope that Pakhi has also done well in this film.
Not much is known about Anand Mhasvekar’s film ‘Aamhi Bolto Marathi‘, except for its tagline that it is a inner voice of those who are proud about their mother tongue. Two veteran actors Vikram Gokhale and Arun Nalawade are opposite each other, fighting for their rights. So, it remains to be seen, who wins the battle? Or is it amicable settlement , for peaceful living ?
The fourth film released during the week is ‘Gondan‘. Vinita Pimpalkhare’s debut film as a director, after serving Marathi stage and television as a writer-director. It’s a musical love story set on the backdrop of traditional lavani , which has been part of Marathi film industry for a long time. Pooja Pawar is making her comeback as an actress through this film; but this time she is playing the mother of Pooja Sawant.
Now, which film gets the nod from the audience, will be clear only during the week end. Let us wait and watch.
