Kanyadaan’ on Mi Marathi from 30th May
Mi Marathi channel will present a new serial ‘Kanyadaan’ from 30th May at 7pm from Monday to Saturday. ‘Kanyadaan’ is a woman oriented suspense filled but emotional drama. The story revolves around the character of Sakhee- a sensible, cultured and cheerful girl. After her marriage when she steps into the house of her in-laws, she experiences strange happenings and is shocked to see a different culture.
The serial tries to show how Sakhee encounters the crisis. Produced by Neeta Lad the story and screenplay of this serial is written by Shirish Latkar, while Pallavi Karkera and Kiran Kulkarni have penned the dialogues. Kedar Vaidya has directed this serial while Ashok Mahajan has handled the camera.
The serial has newcomers like Sukanya Kaalan and Harish Dabhade along with prominent artistes like Vinay Apte, Kshama Deshpande, Sulekha Talwalkar, Vighnesh Joshi, Sameer Vijay, Rupali Bhosale, Pankaj Khamkar, Kshama Ninave, Milind Phatak and Pari Telang.
Remembering Usha Kiran
Usha Kiran passed away ten years ago, but the roles played by her are still fresh in our memory. She was the most versatile actress in Marathi, Gujarathi and Hindi film industry. In her acting career spanning over four decades, she acted in 300 films. She was the recipient of Maharashtra Government’s award for best actress for her role in popular Marathi film ‘Kanyadaan’. Some of her other award winning films were ‘Shikleli Bayako’& ‘Gariba Gharchi Lek’.
Even in Hindi films, she had performed opposite most of the top actors of her time in lead roles. Later, she continued to perform character roles till the time she was seriously ill. MMW pays sincere tributes to ‘unforgettable Ushaji ‘ on the occasion of her 10th death anniversary.
