‘Kshitij’ receives ICFT UNESCO Gandhi award at IFFI
Known for their scripts on social and realistic subjects, Marathi films have been receiving appreciation at various international film festivals across the globe. Now, one more Marathi film has been inviting attention at different international film festivals, before its official release in theatres. Produced by Navroz Prasala and directed by Manoj kadam ‘Kshitij A Horizon‘ has just received ICFT UNESCO Gandhi award at the International Film Festival of India in Goa.
At this 48th IFFI , ‘Kshitij‘ was shortlisted among the 9 best films in the final round and received this prestigious award. This film has already received appreciation at other international festivals. In USA at the Indian Film Festival held at Houston the film had won Best Feature award and before that at the Cape town festival director Manoj Kadam received Best New Film director award. ‘Kshitij‘ also received appreciation at Global Migration International Film festival at Switzerland and now has been selected for screening at the Hyderabad International film festival. It has received nomination at the Kolkatta film festival and has been selected for screening at the forthcoming Third Eye Int. Film festival scheduled to be held in Mumbai. So, all eyes on ‘Kshitij‘.
‘Kshitij’ team celebrate Children’s day with underprivileged children
Now days, the Promotion of the film is very important . Today, Marathi film makers are using different methods to popularise their film, prior to its release. Some film makers use this platform of promotion, to create social awareness. The makers of Marathi film ‘Kshitij‘ who have already selected a subject, to spread the importance of education among the underprivileged children, celebrated the children’s day in a unique way.
The leader of the ‘Kshitij‘ team led by director Manoj Kadam visited a group of underprivileged children from Thane , who attend a school sponsored by a voluntary agency which is affiliated to Thane Municipal Corporation. The lead child artistes of this film Vaishnavi Tangade distributed notebooks to these children and also cut a cake to celebrate the occasion with these children. Other lead artistes of the film Upendra Limaye, Kanchan Jadhav, Sambhaji Tangade, cinematographer Sagar Mhadolkar were also present on this occasion.

Cinema is the best medium to highlight the social issues. Some sensible film makers have always invited the attention of audience towards many such social problems. Now, Media Film Craft Company and Navroj Prasala Productions along with Karishma Mhadolkar will be presenting one such Marathi film ‘Kshitij‘ which will be directed by Manoj Kadam. According to the makers, the film will offer entertainment besides making the audience aware of the importance of education social values.
‘Kshitij‘ stars National film award winning actor Upendra Limaye in the lead role. Recently, the trailer and promotional song of this film was launched in Mumbai, in presence of all the artistes of this film. During this event the child artistes of this film Vaishnavi Tangade presented this song along with other child artistes. The promotional song of this film has been penned by Guru Thakur with the music provided by Shailendra Barve. Yogesh Rajguru is the the cinematographer of this film, while Resul Pookutty is the sound designer. Beside Upendra Limaye and Vaishnavi Tangade, the film also stars Manoj Joshi, Vidyadhar Joshi, Sanjay Mone, Kanchan Jadhav, Rajkumar Tangade, Prakash Dhotre and others.

Resul Pookutty records on-location background music for Marathi film ‘Kshitij’
Oscars award winner famous Indian film sound designer Resul Pookutty recently experimented something new for Marathi films. Resul recently recorded On- location background music for Marathi film ‘Kshitij’. The shooting of this film was recently held in a village Nanaj in Jamkhed Taluka place, where the makers were shooting a devotional bhajan. So, this experiment of recording on location sound was attempted by Resul Pookutty.
Later, speaking about this experiment in Marathi films, the award winning sound designer said, “There are many changes taking place in films during the past few years, due to technological developments. But, the changes were noticed in sound effects only during the past two years. Generally, sound effects were used in post production stage. But, in Marathi cinema, we have tried this On Location sound recording, for more perfection, to give a realistic look to the film, which you will notice in the film ‘Kshitij’. “ he said.
‘Kshitij’ is produced by Navroz Prasala & Karishma Mahadolkar and directed by Manoj kadam. The film stars Upendra Limaye, Manoj Joshi, Kanchan Jadhav, Sanjay Mone, child artiste Apurva Mandrupkar in lead roles along with other new artistes. This film will ready for release in the coming year.
