Mukta Dabholkar launches trailer of ‘Aart’
Mukta Dabholkar is carrying forward the work undertaken by her departed father i.e. fighting superstition in India. No wonder, she was invited as chief guest to launch the trailer of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Aart‘, Produced by Dilip Shah, written & directed by Rajendra Sali, the film throws light on the Caste Panchayat system, which is still practiced in some parts of the country.
Speaking on the occasion, the writer-director of ‘Aart‘ film said, “Daily we read stories about injustice on women at different places in rural Maharashtra on this issue. Therefore, instead of opting for a commercial film, I decided to make a film on this sensitive issue.” Expressing her views on this subject, Mukta Dabholkar said, “Caste Panchayat does not only exist in Adivasi and illiterate people; but it also exists among the so called higher castes. Our organisation (ANS) has been fighting against the decisions by such Caste Panchayat. And, therefore, the subject dealt by the makers of this film, is very timely, as there is already pressure on Maharashtra Government to enforce a law against the rulings of such Caste Panchayats.”
‘Aart‘ film is all set to release on 20th May 2016 and the makers of the film have already planned a special screening of the film for Parliamentarians, to make them think seriously about the implementation of the law to stop injustice on helpless people. The film stars Shital Salunke, Ganesh Yadav, Jairaj Nair, Santosh Mayekar, Ajit Sawant, Ajit Bhagat and others. Lyrics and music by Suresh Ghaywat and cinematography by Manish Patel are other credits.
