Set against the serene backdrop of Shrivardhan (Konkan), the story revolves around three inseparable friends – Prasad (Shreyas Thorat), Siddhesh (Manthan Kanekar), and Krishna (Aaryan Menghji) and a visiting girl, Jaie (Sajiri Joshi), who becomes an unexpected part of their summer story. English is a challenge for the boys, much to the concern of Prasad’s father, who insists that he should go to Mumbai for coaching. But, Prasad has other plans—he wants to enjoy his vacation with his buddies.

When the families discover that Jai is fluent in English, they ask her to train the boys. What unfolds, is an endearing and often hilarious journey of friendship, learning, and self-discovery. In return, the boys promise to give Jai a guided tour of the Konkan region, leading to a delightful blend of language lessons, cultural exchange, and unforgettable escapades.

Sajirii Joshi daughter of renowned Marathi actress Rujuta Deshmukh is all set to make her debut in Marathi films, through forthcoming Marathi film ‘April May 99′, which is produced by Rajesh Mapuskar and directed by Rohan Mapuskar. Mapuskar brothers had already disclosed the names of three young artistes playing the lead roles; namely : Aryan Mengji, Shreyas Thorat & Manthan Kanekar and their photos also appeared on the poster of this film.

However, the fourth face of a young lady remained in question mark, as her face was not visible. Now, the makers of this film have disclosed her identity and she is Sajiri Joshi playing the lead character of Jai. According to director Rohan Mapuskar, he had already taken the audition of Sajiri for another film in the past. But, this time, I was sure that she would perfectly fit into the character of Jai. This film will be released on 16th May 2025.

Mapuskar brothers Rajesh and Rohan are offering a surprise during this new year 2025. Their new film ‘April May 99′ will be released in coming summer vacation. We are already aware of the work of Rajesh Mapuskar through his films ‘Ventilator’, ‘Ferrari ki Sawaari‘,  recently released ‘Yek Number‘; while Rohan Mapuskar is known for his contribution as assistant director for Rajkumar Hirani’s films ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai‘ and ‘3 Idiots’.

With ‘April May 99′ Rohan will be making his debut as a director. With their coming together, there are big expectations from this film. After working as a casting director for Marathi and Hindi films for the past 17 years, Rohan Mapuskar is now directing his first Marathi film. Recently, he completed shooting of this film at Shrivardhan. Making official announcement about this project, Rohan said that it was his dream to make a Marathi film which will be close and relatable to everyone across the world.

Speaking about his project, he says, “After absorbing lots of ups and downs, struggles and sacrifices, my dream of making a film has finally turned into reality. The universe has presented me with this beautiful opportunity to step into and direct. I have earned a lot of love and respect for being a Casting Director in the last 17 years. These 17 years have shaped me and paved my path as a Director. This film is my baby and I will make sure not to leave any stone unturned to make it a memorable one.”

He further adds “This film has thrown every possible challenge at me and that has terribly excited me to seek and grow up as a Director. I am grateful to the universe for helping me sail through this shooting journey safely with lots of love and care.”
