Written by Prasad Dani and directed by Kumar Sohoni, this play stars Ashish Pawar, Priyanka Tendolkar, Atul Mahajan and Ajay Purkar in lead roles. This suspense filled play filled with emotions and comedy, shows how the life of four people changes with one Friend request. The inaugural show of this play will be held in Pune at Tilak Smarak Mandir on 25th January followed by another show next day at Balgandharva Rangmandir on 26th January. The first show in Mumbai will be on 1st February at 3.30 pm in Shivaji Mandir theatre.

Ten years ago Umesh Kamat and Priya Bapat performed in their first Marathi play ‘Nava Gadi Nava Rajya’ and the pair attained popularity. Thereafter, both of them together performed in films and web series. Now, after almost a decade both of them will be seen together in forthcoming Marathi play ‘Jar Tar Chi Goshta’’ This play is produced by Priya Bapat under the banner of Sonal Production.

‘Jar Tar Chi Goshta’ is directed by Advait Dadarkar and Ranjit Patil . This play is written by Irwati Karnik and stars Umesh Kamat, Priya Bapat Kamat, Pallavi Ajay and Ashutosh Gokhale. Speaking about her play, Priya said, “This is my second commercial play through my home production and I am glad that I am part of this play as an actress. I was very keen on working with Umesh once again on Marathi stage. And, my wish has come true through this play. So, eagerly looking forward to appear in front of the stage audience.”

Subodh, Sai Lokur to attend First Children’s Play event in Belgaum

Balrangabhoomi Abhiyan, Mumbai, will oragasise a two day competition of Children’s plays in Belgaum on 18th and 19th February 2023 at Sant Meera High School.This event has received the support from Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, Belgaum and Fulora, Belgaum. In this competition 25 to 30 schools from Belgaum will take part with each school represented by 15 children, thus numbering around total 300 children.

An acting workshop will also be conducted for the 300 children participants. The event will be inaugurated by Sai Lokur and Subodh Bhave will be present for the concluding ceremony as a chief guest. It may be recalled that Sai Lokur began her acting career in Belgaum through a play.

Actor Sandesh Jadhav to play Police Officer for the first time in a Marathi play

Popularly known for his character of a Police officer in Marathi films and TV serials, Actor Sandesh Jadhav will now be playing a Police officer in a suspense filled Marathi play ‘You Must Die’ . This play is produced by Aditi Rao, written by Niraj Shirvaikar and directed by Vijay Kenkre. Along with Sandesh Jadhav, this play also stars Sharvari Lohakare, Saurabh Gokhale, Neha Kulkarni, Ajinkya Bhosale, Harshal Mhamunkar, Pramod Kadam, Vinita Date and Dhanesh Potdar.

Speaking about his role in this play, Sandesh Jadhav says,” Having played a Police officer in so many films and TV serials, I was actually avoiding to play a Police officer in Marathi plays and had even rejected such offers. But, when this offer to play a Police officer in ‘You Must Die’ came to me, I was impressed by the story. Moreover, this play was directed by Vijay kenkre and therefore I agreed to play this role. My role has different shades and therefore I get the pleasure of presenting them live on stage.”

No wonder, his role in this play and this suspense filled play is well accepted by the audience.

36th Children’s play competition by Ravikiran group, was recently at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi. This competition received overwhelming response from different groups. It was inaugurated by Mr. Santosh Rokade, Director of P.L. Deshpande Academy . On the second day,renowned Production designer Pradeep Mulye was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners. This competition was held in memory of Late Jyotiram Kadam Sir formerly from Dr.K.M.S, Shirodkar High School. Mentioning about this the Programme Presenter Mr. Nagesh Vandre said ,”it was the wish of Kadam Sir that Ravikiran Group should organize Children’s play competitions and he had mentioned this way back in 1984.” On this occasion a  book with the collection of plays written by Kadam Sir were distributed to the representatives of the schools present on this occasion.

Renowned dramatist and director Vijay Kenkre is all set to celebrate the Century of his plays with his new Marathi play ‘Kali Rani‘ on 11th December 2022. Interestingly, with this inaugural show of ‘Kali Rani’ Vijay Kenkre’s other associates in this play will also be creating new records. This will be writer Ratnakar Matkari’s 90th play, Production designer Pradeep Mule’s 200th play, Music director Ajit Parab’s 40th play, Costume designer Mangal Kenkre’s 50th play, Light effect specialist Sheetal Talpade’s 125th play Akshar Shedge’s 1400th play and Dr. Girish Oak’s 50th play. Above all, Dr. Girish Oak will be appearing in his 6,666 th stage performance through this inaugural show.

Produced by Priya Patil, Dr. Madhuri Sarnaik, Anita Mahajan,Rutuja Shidam and directed by Vijay Kenkre this play revolves around three important characters in film industry- an actress who wants to rule over this industry, a writer whose every film has become a silver Jubilee hit and a showman producer who has given scope to this actress and director in this industry. Dr. Girish Oak, Harish Dudhade and Manva Naik play the lead roles along with Chandralekha Joshi and Anand Patil. Sanjay Khapre has already established himself as an actor in all the three fields of Marathi entertainment. Now, he is ready to offer his Marathi play ‘Don’t worry Ho Jayega’ which is based on positive attitude with his message , which is clearly seen in the title of this play. Sanjay who has directed this play also plays central character in this play along with other artistes like Suparna Shyam, Rohit Mohite and Asavari Aiwale.

Presented by Kalaranjana and produced by Priya Patil, Nandkishore Patil and Uday Satam, the inaugural show of this play will be staged on 15th August  @ 4.30 pm at Prabodhankar Thackeray Auditorium, Borivali, followed by 2nd show on 16th August @ 4.30 pm at Gadkari Rangayatan, Thane. Speaking about his play Sanjay Khapre says, “ I am directing this play besides playing lead role. This is my second play as a director. Through this play I have tried to send an important message to the audience that it is your positive attitude towards like, which enables you to achieve success. I have tried to send this message in a very simple and tension free way through this play and I am sure the audience will like it.”
