Jitendra Joshi to present talk show ‘Don Special’ on Colors Marathi

Television Talk shows have always invited attention of the home viewers, especially in Marathi. And the reason is simple. People would always like to know the frank opinion expressed by the guest invitees in such shows. But, it is equally important to have the proper host, who should be able to extract the best from such celebrities. Jitendra Joshi, known for his frank and humour filled chat , he  will be hosting one such show ‘Don Special’, which will be telecast every Thursday and Friday at 9.30 pm on Colors Marathi channel.

Many renowned celebrities from Marathi stage, television and films will be part of this show and the very first episode will present Subodh Bhave and Sumeet Raghavan together. So, you can imagine, how Jitendra will handle them to speak out their frank opinion on different subjects. In the subsequent episodes there will be pairs like Guru Thakur- Kishore kadam, followed by participants from Big Boss-2 season and others.

Speaking about his show, Jitendra said,“The celebrities invited in this show will be all known celebrities in Marathi. And this programme will try to extract from them what the people are not aware. This being my programme, there will not be any kind of pretended show, but there will be more freedom offered to the guests.:

The 16th SKD Gaurav Drama Festival began on Saturday evening at Yashwant Natya Mandir Hall, in presence of chief guest veteran actor Mr. Mohan Joshi, ABMNS President Mr. Gangaram Pednekar and Programme head of Colors TV channel Mr. Sanjay Upadhye.

This year 27 Dramas have taken part in this competition and among them, Shree Chintamani’s ‘Shevgyachya Shenga‘, Sonal Productions ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy‘ , Anamay Produced ‘All The Best-2‘ , Sonal Productions ‘Perfect Mismatch‘ & Atharva Productions ‘Don Special’ have been selected for the final round, by the Jury comprising of Mr.Pradeep kabre, Rohini Ninave, & Avinash Kharshikar.

Highlight of this festival is that the audience will get an opportunity to watch these plays at concessional rates of Rs.100 & Rs.50/- only. Moreover, the audience present for these shows, will get an opportunity to vote, along with the Judges.

However, as per the latest news, the Play ‘Don Special will not be staged, due to some unavoidable circumstances. Instead, the audience will get a chance to see a classical play ‘Teenhi Saanj‘. The play winning this contest , will be awarded a prize of Rs. 1 Lakh. The organisers of SKD, Mr. Chandrashekhar Sandve and Archana Nevrekar have also announced that on 6th and 7th April 2016, they will host the competition for Marathi films and the names of 10 shortlisted films, will be announced by them, shortly.

‘Don Special’Set in December 1989, this play takes place in a newspaper office in Pune between 9.30 pm to midnight.
It underlines a dramatic event in the life of Milind Bhagwat, the night shift’s chief sub editor.
While giving news about an accident that has happened at the city’s cultural centre, he finds himself in the middle of the most dramatic conflict of his life. Enduring values on one side and eternal love on the other,what does he do?
Based on a story by HM Marathe.
