Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare unveils the poster of ‘Farzand’

Marathi film makers have till now presented period films based on history. Now, one such film on a great warrior Kondaji Farzand in Maratha history will be presented on big screen through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Farzand‘ by director Digpal Lanjekar. It may be recalled that Kondaji Farzand along with Mavalas had successfully captured Fort Panhala. ‘Farzand‘ film will be released next year on 11th May 2018 all over Maharashtra. Recently, the first look poster of this film was unveiled by Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare.
Speaking on the occasion Shivshair Purandare said that this will be a grand historical war film which will educate the audience about the history of Marathas during the era of the great Kind Shivaji Maharaj. This will be the debut film of director Digpal Lanjekar, made under the banner of Swami Samarth Movies by producers Anirban Sarkar, Sandeep Jadhav, Mahesh Jaurkar & Swapnil Potdar.
Director Sandeep Patil is confident that the audience would appreciate his film

Some film makers are confident about success of their films, much before their official release. Director Sandeep Bhalchandra Patil is one of them. For the past three years he was making the film ‘Dashakriya‘ and his efforts have already paid dividends, before release of this film. ‘Dashakriya‘ has already won three national awards, besides bagging some popular awards. Now, this film is all set for theatre release all over Maharashtra on 17th November 2017.
This is Sandeep Patil‘s debut film, but he is very confident that the audience would surely appreciate this film. Having gained considerable experience working with reputed directors of big and small screen. When Sandeep Patil wanted to make a film, he along with his friend Film PRO Ram Kondilkar launched a production company and went in search of story. He was very much inspired by Baba Bhand’s novel with the same name. Thereafter developing this story for cinematic format he approached Sanjay Krishnaji Patil and finally through him found a producer in Kalpana Vilas Kothari , who was also impressed with the story. According to Sandeep he has presented a sensible subject in an entertaining way.
‘Majha Yalghaar’ set to release on 10th November

A Woman’s fight against injustice is the most suitable theme in Marathi films. And, if such a theme is presented effectively in cinematic form, it will certainly inspire others. Shree Sadguru Film’s forthcoming Marathi film ‘Majha Yalghaar’‘ claims to have presented one such very effective theme under the direction of Milind Kamble. Produced by Saurabh Apte and presented by Shrikant Apte this film presents the story of a woman who fights against injustice in a village, where people live under blind faith.
The film has four songs of different types and rendered by popular singers like Adarsh Shinde, Aanandi Joshi, Saurabh Shete & Avadhoot Gupte on the music of Saurabh – Durgesh. Besides the new pair Aishwarya Rajesh & Yash kadam, the film also stars Swapnil Rajshekhar, Amol Redij, Archana Joshi, Rucha Apte, Vaidehi Patwardhan & Dr.Bhagwan Narkar. Film’s screen Dialogues are Chetan Kinjalkar,while cinematography by Umesh Pofle & editing by Nakul Prasad-Prajyot Pawaskar are other credits.
Ambarnath Film festival receives good response

Located at a distance of about 48 kms from Mumbai city, Ambernath has almost the same culture of Mumbai’s Dadar and Girgaon. People over here are more keen on watching Marathi plays and films. No wonder, this is the third year they organised Marathi Film Festival in a big way. This year, the festival began on 21st September with Yogesh Soman’s film ‘Majha Bhirbhir’ and concluded with Girish Mohite’s film ‘Sarvanaam’. The festival was possible due to efforts taken by Amber Bharari Oraganisation’s Sunil Choudhari and Chitrapat Mahamandal President Meghraj Bhosale.
This year there were 25 films and 50 short films screened during the period of festival at the auditorium of AAMA in Ambernath. Among the other films which were also screened at the festival were, ‘Natawanda’,’Mumbai Kinara’,’Sorry’,’Rairand’, Not a Breaking news’, Happy Birthday to You’, ‘Naraya’,’Dhuma’,’ Khopa’, Pratibha’,’ Vakya’,’ Bal Bhimrao’, ‘Braveheart’, Ganu’,’Trucker’ & others. Late Anand Abhyankar’s last film ‘Gadbad Gondhal’ was also screened at the festival, to pay tributes to him. Rajiv Ruia’s next Marathi film ‘Majhya Baikocha Priyakar’

After directing Marathi film ‘Yudh- Astitvachi Ladhai‘, ‘My Friend Ganesha‘ fame Rajiv S Ruia is back with his next Marathi film ‘Majhya Baikocha Priyakar‘ which clearly suggests a social comedy through its title. Made under the banner of ‘Rajkala Movies & Baba Motion Pictures‘ this will be an entertaining film, according to its makers.
Produced by Pradeep K Sharma & Deepak Ruia, this film has four songs. The shooting of ‘Majhya Baikocha Priyakar‘ film was held at Bhor and Filmcity, Mumbai recently along with an item song picturised on Meera Joshi. The film will be released soon after completion of post production work. The film stars Aniket Vishwasrao, Bhagyashree Mote, Anshuman Vichare, Priya Gamre, Priyadarshan Jadhav, Bharat Ganeshpure, Anupama Takmoghe, Padam Singh , Swati and others.
Musical programme to pay tributes to late Datta Davjekar

The current year is being celebrated as the 100th Birth Anniversary of Music legend Late Datta Davjekar . Popularly Known as ‘DD’ Mr. Davjekar had worked as assistant with popular music directors of yesteryears like C.Ramchandra, ‘Chitragupt‘ and ‘Roshan‘, before turning independent Music director. He had also worked as music arranger.
This being his 100th birth anniversary, a special programme suitably titled ‘Tumhe Yaad Karte Karte‘ has been organized on 11th November 2017 at 8:00 am in Shivaji Natya Mandir by his well wishers Prof. Krishnakumar Gavand of Swarmugdha Arts, Chandrashekhar Pusalkar, Shrikant Kulkarni & Aditya Kher of Dadasaheb Pratishthan.
This programme will be anchored by Ajay madan and will present well Known singers like Ravindra Sathe, Vinayak Joshi, Dr.Mrudula Dadhe & Datta Davjekar‘s daughter Dr.Aparna Mayekar. A book in his memory will also be released on this occasion. Well Known music director duo Anand Milind will be present as chief guests on this occasion.
Resourceful Marathi actor Vijay Chavan is still active with films

For the past 32 years he has been active with Marathi films. But, Vijay Chavan as an actor shot into fame with his popular hit Marathi play ‘Moruchi Mavshi’, which has presented more than 3000 shows. In this play Mr. Chavan had to present himself in the role of a female which was very much appreciated by the drama lovers. Prior to that he had made his debut on stage through the play ‘Tur Tur’. From ‘Tur Tur’ to ‘Shrimant Damodarpant‘ he portrayed variety of roles .

‘Hampi’ Trailer and Music launched in Mumbai

After attaining popularity for the Poster and teaser, the makers of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Hampi‘ recently launched the trailer and music of their film in Mumbai. The theme of this film is based on one such beautiful place called Hampi, which is also the title of this film, for the only reason that this is not only the place but Known for its identity. In this film the lead character of the film Isha in depressed mood lands at this beautiful place on a trip and how she finds a change in herself , is what the film is all about.
The songs of ‘Hampi‘ film are penned by Vaibhav Joshi and Omkar Kulkarni and music is provided by Narendra Bhide & Aditya Bedekar. Story screenplay and dialogue writer Aditi Moghe and director Prakash Kunte who combined well for the film ‘Coffee Aani Barach Kahi‘ two years ago, will be seen together in their respective roles in this film too. So, there are high expectations from ‘Hampi‘, which is all set to release on 17th November 2017. The film stars Sonalee Kulkarni, Priyadarshan Jadhav, Prajakta Mali, Lalit Prabhakar and Chhaya Kadam in lead roles. Recently, the first poster of ‘Rangeela Rayabaa- Attitude is Everything‘ film was released on social media and has become viral. The film’s poster shows two fresh faces in the form of newcomers Alhad Andore and Radhika Muthukumar and with this film this production company is entering Marathi film industry. ‘Welcome Home’ will be Sumitra Bhave & Sunil Sukthankar’s next film

Having won 7 National awards, renowned director duo Sumitra Bhave & Sunil Sukhtankar recently launched their next Marathi film ‘Welcome Home’ in presence of the artistes and special guest on the occasion film maker Umesh Kulkarni, who gave the muhurat clap. Incidentally, their last film ‘Kaasav’ also won national award. ‘Welcome Home’ stars reputed artistes like Mrunal Kulkarni, Sumit Raghavan, Spruha Joshi, Dr. Mohan Agashe, Uttara bavkar, Deepa Shreeram, Seva Chouhan, Siddharth Menon, Sarang Sathye, Ashwini Giri, Abhay Kulkarni and child star Pranjali Kamble in lead roles.
This multi starrer film will be the 15th film of producers Shree Ganesh Marketing & Films, which has in the past presented films like ‘Katyar Kaljaat Ghusali’, ‘Saavar Re’ & ‘Tya Ratri Paus Hota’. Vinay Bele, Abhishek Sunil Phadtare, Dilipkumar Bhagat, Arpan Bhukanwala are the producers of this film. In short, there will be lot to expect from this film, as it will a woman oriented film focusing on the issue, as to which is the real home of a woman, whether it is of her parents, her husband’s or her own ?
