Ranveer Singh unveils the poster of Ganesh Acharya’s Marathi film ‘Bhikari’
We are all aware that Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Acharya has also done choreography for some Marathi films last year. Also at the end of last year he launched his own Marathi film ‘Bhikari‘ along with Sharad Devram Shelar in a big way, in presence of Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan and young popular star Tiger Shroff. Now, teaser poster of ‘Bhikari‘ film was launched recently by another popular Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh on his social networking site. While releasing this poster Ranveer has also tweeted wishing all the best to the entire team of this film.
In this film Marathi film’s chocolate boy Swwapnil Joshi will be seen in a totally different image. And, if we observe the image of the person on the poster of ‘Bhikari‘ film, you are sure to get the hint about the kind of role he is playing in this film. Through ‘Bhikari‘ film Ganesh Acharya will be making his debut as a director in Marathi with the script and lyrics written by Guru Thakur, who will also play an important character in this film. The film also stars Rucha Inamdar, Sayaji Shinde, Milind Shinde, Kirti Adarkar, Sunil Pal & Pradeep Kabra. Highlight of this film is a song ‘Gajanana….’ Choreographed by Ganesh Acharya involving one thousand artistes and captured by cinematographer Mahesh Limaye. The film is all set to release soon.
Priyanka Chopra unveils first look of ‘Purple Pebble Pictures’ Kaay Re Rascalaa!
After commercial success, rave reviews from critics and three national awards for the Marathi comedy-drama, Ventilator released last year, Priyanka Chopra‘s production house, Purple Pebble Pictures is set to showcase their next offering, ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa!‘
Directed by I. Giridharan Swamy, ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa‘ marks the debut of actors Gaurav Ghatnekar and Bhagyashree Mote. The cast also includes Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, Supriya Pathare and Akshar Kothari. After an emotionally charged ‘Ventilator‘, ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa‘ promises to be a light hearted, rib-tickling comedy.
The global superstar, who had stepped into production with her Purple Pebble Pictures production house, took to Twitter to share the fun poster of ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa‘ – a family entertainer with a tinge of south flavour – with her fans and followers.
She tweeted, “Full steam ahead on @purplepebblepic’s 2nd Marathi production#KaayReRascala – a hilarious family entertainer releasing July 14 @chopramm5“.
Much hype has followed the announcement of this second Marathi movie and the muhurat held for it in January 2017, given the celebrated success of its antecedent. With no face on the poster, it makes for an intriguing first look, wildly trending on social media sites and spurring curiosity and excitement amongst cine goers. Directed by Duo Rohan-Rohan has lent their music to the movie. The film is bankrolled by Priyanka Chopra and her mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra. Kunickaa Sadanand is the Associate Producer, while Dr. Satyasheel Biradar and Sangeeta Manjrekar are the co-producers of the film. ‘Kaay Re Rascalaa‘ is set to release on 14th July, 2017.

Nipun Dharmadhikari gets ready with his film ‘BaapJanma’
Everest Entertainment which is known for offering some hit Marathi films like ‘Mee Shivajiraje Bhosle Boltoy‘, ‘Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho‘, ‘Hapus‘, ‘ Ideachi Kalpana‘, ‘Tukaram‘, ‘Aajcha Divas Majha‘, ‘Happy Journey‘, ‘Coffee Aani Barach Kaahi‘, ‘Time Please‘ , ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-2‘ is now getting ready to release their next Marathi film ‘BaapJanma‘, which is set for release on 15th September 2017 all across the state. The official announcement to this effect was made by Sanjay Chhabria of Everest Entertainment, Sumatilal Shah and Sixteen By Sixty Four Productions.
The young and talented Director Nipun Dharmadhikari , who founded Natak Company in 2009 to stage and produce Marathi plays, is also known for reviving century-old musical dramas & also five-act plays which are performed through the night in Shakespearean tradition. Known as a futuristic director of plays which are ahead of their times, Nipun Dharmadhikari has also earned kudos as an actor and writer of Marathi films including ‘Nautanki Saala!‘ (2013) and ‘Harishchandrachi Factory‘ (2009).
Now, the title of his new film ‘BaapJanma‘ is a term which is often used by Marathi folks, has already aroused curiosity.
‘Hrudayantar’ music launched by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Ever since Vikram Phadnis Marathi film ‘Hrudayantar‘ was launched, we have been hearing involvement of many Bollywood personalities with this film, right from giving clap of this film till releasing the first look or poster of this film. Recently, when he approached popular Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to release the music of ‘Hrudayantar‘ film, she immediately agreed to be present.

‘WHAT’SUP Lagna’ launched with muhurat
Having received recognition as one of the producers of the hit film ‘Natasamrat‘, Vishwas Joshi will now be trying his hands into direction, besides associating himself in script writing of forthcoming Marathi film ‘WHAT’SUP Lagna‘. The film was launched with muhurat in presence of special guest of the occasion Mr. Nana Patekar. Having worked in his previous film, Nana wished Vishwas Joshi and his team a grand success.
The film stars Vaibhav Tatwawdi, Prarthana Behere, Vikram Gokhale, Vandana Gupte, Vidyadhar Joshi, Ila Bhate & Veena Jagtap in lead roles. Abhiram Bhadkamkar has written the story of ‘WHAT’SUP Lagna’ film along with Vishwas Joshi with screenplay and dialogues by Mitali Joshi, Ashwini Shende and Vishwas Joshi. Music by Nilesh Moharir & Troy Aarif, Choreography by Phulwa Khamkar and Cinematorgraphy by Sriram Seturaman are the other credits. ‘Itemgiri’ and ‘Dhondi’ to release together on 9th June
Simultaneous releases of Marathi films has become common these days. Last week we saw ‘Muramba‘ and ‘FU‘ releasing together and now on Friday 9thJune two more Marathi films are releasing together. They are ‘Itemgiri‘ and ‘Dhondi‘. Both these films are having different themes. While ‘Itemgiri‘ Produced by a big team of producers Arvind Chandak, Rahul Boob, Vikas Mundada, Amit Taware, Pradeep Beldare & Santosh Kadam and directed jointly by Pradeep Tonge, Mangesh Shendge will be a love story of teenagers, starring ‘Fandry‘ fame Rajeshwari Kharat and ‘Dhag‘ fame National award winning actor Hansraj Jagtap, ‘Dhondi‘ will present an emotion filled story of a farmer’s son.
Popular character actor Sayaji Shinde plays the role of a farmer in this film, while another national award winning actor Vivek Chabukswar also has an important role in this film. Pooja Pawar who had made her film debut with Ajinkya Deo in the film; ‘Sarjaa‘ exactly 30 years ago, will also be seen in this film in lead role. ‘Dhondi‘ directed by Monish Pawar and produced by Shivajirao Jadhav, Santosh Sutar & Nikhi Nagude also stars Usha Naik, Kishore Chougule and Raghavendra Kadkol and is expected to pass a social message through its emotion filled story. On the other hand ‘Itemgiri‘ , which is a musical love story is likely to target the young audience. However, the weekend will decide the fate of these two films.
The little artistes of ‘Andya Cha Funda’ are called Junior Jai –Veeru
The trailer of the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Andya Cha Funda‘ has become very popular on social networking sites. Even the ‘Dubuk Dubuk…’ song from this film has become a hit among the viewers of this trailer. Some of the viewers have named the two little actors from this film as Junior Jai & Veeru, as the film is based on the friendship of the two little children during their school days.
Actually, the character names of these two child artistes are Andya and Fundya in ‘Andya Cha Funda‘ film. And, the film is all set to release on 30th June 2017. Atharva Bedekar and Shubham Parab are playing these two close friends in the film. Incidentally, both of them are also good friends off screen. Samit Kakkad’s ‘Half Ticket’ wins ‘Ecumenical Jury Award’
On the concluding day of the 57th Zlin International film festival, one of the largest children’s film festivals worldwide, it was announced today that Indian filmmaker Samit Kakkad’s ‘Half Ticket‘ has won the much-coveted ‘Ecumenical Jury Award‘.
‘Half Ticket‘ produced by Video Palace and starring Priyanka Bose (Lion) and Bhalchandra Kadam (Sangto Aika, Timepass) in addition to the two lead young actors (Shubham More and Vinayak Potdar) was part of the official selection at this prestigious film festival held in Czech Republic.
Speaking about winning this prestigious award for his film an overjoyed Kakkad said, “I am elated to have heard this news of having won such a big award. This means the world to me and only bolsters my confidence that good Indian cinema is being appreciated. To even imagine that this is an award people I look up to have received, races my heart. I can only and wish that this paves the way for more Indian films internationally and hope that larger audiences are able to enjoy not just mine, but my contemporaries films as well.”
The coveted Ecumenical jury award is given at leading film festivals globally since 1973 with the aim of “honoring the works of artistic quality which witnesses to the power of film to reveal the mysterious depths of human beings through what concerns them, their hurts and failings as well as their hopes.” And has been bestowed on international filmmakers such as Andrei Tarkovsky, Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Samira Makhmalbaf, Asghar Farhadi, Fatih Akin and Pedro Almodovar among others.
‘Half Ticket‘ is directed by Samit Kakkad and has been produced by Video Palace and is being represented by Basil Content Media at film festivals. The film has also been selected at various other international film festivals all over the world.
