Award winning Marathi film ‘Dashakriya’ receives good response at Cannes Film Fest
Marathi film ‘Dashakriya‘ which recently won three National awards and various other popular awards, created a new record recently. At the ongoing Cannes Film Festival, the film was screened at Grey-4 auditorium, where it received very good response. The special show was organised by Maharashtra Government, when the team of ‘Dashakriya‘ film was also present. The next show of this film has also been organised.
Produced by Kalpana Vilas Kothari and written by Sanjay Krushnaji Patil and directed by Sandip Patil ‘Dashakriya‘ film stars Dilip Prabhavalkar, Manoj Joshi, Aditi Deshpande, Milind Shinde, Milind Phatak, Uma Sardeshmukh, Asha Shelar, Nandkishore Chougule, Santosh Mayekar, Umesh Mitkari, Prashant Tapasvi, Anil Rabade, Umesh Bolke, Sanskruti Rangnekar, child artistes Arya Aadhav, Vinayak Ghadigaonkar and about 150 other child artistes who are making their debut through this film. Music by Amitraj and cinematography by Mahesh Aney are the other credits of this film.
Sachin Tendulkar to take on new opponents on a different wicket
We are all aware of the records created by Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar on cricket field. Even after his retirement from cricket, his popularity hasn’t diminished a bit. Now, his biographical film ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams‘ written and directed by James Erskine and produced by Ravi Bhagchandka and Carnival Motion Pictures under 200 Not Out Productions is ready for release on 26th May 2017. The film is based on the life of Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. And hence, there is no doubt that majority of Maharashtrian people will be attracted towards this film. Sachin Tendulkar himself has promoted this film on Marathi television and through other sources. And, the Marathi version of this film is also being released, besides four other languages.
But, another news is that four Marathi films are also releasing on this day. The names of these films are, ‘Tatva‘, ‘Oli Ki Suki‘,’Khopa‘ and ‘Karaar‘. On Tuesday, PRO of the film ‘Khopa‘ issued a press note that the film had postponed its release. But, very next day he confirmed that the film would be released on the scheduled date. The other three films have issued their advertisements in Thursday newspapers confirming their release on 26th May, but there is no indication of show timings.
Now, it remains to be seen, how Sachin Tendulkar will take on these new opponents in the form of these four Marathi films, on a different wicket. But, critics feel that the makers of these four Marathi films should have respected Sachin’s film, the way they respect popular Bollywood big banner films, by not opting to release their films on such days. By the way, two English and two Hindi films are also releasing on 26th May. Even otherwise, Marathi films are not finding audience these days. The IPL cricket has also affected the sale of cinema tickets for both Marathi as well Hindi films. So, will have to wait for the actual results, after this week end.
‘Pari Hoon Main’ film launched with muhurat
Now days, there is a new trend of having Hindi titles for Marathi films. ‘Pyar Wali Love Story‘, ‘Tu Hi Re‘, ‘Ishqwala Love‘ to name a few of them. Now, Dr.Rajendra Pratap Singh and director Rohit Shilwant will be offering their new Marathi film with the title ‘Pari Hoon Main’. The film presents passion filled journey of a middle class family to achieve their goal. The film maker is confident that the subject of this film will be well accepted by Marathi film lovers.
Recently muhurat of this film was performed in presence of producer and wife Sheela Rajendra Singh ( who also own Yogayatan Group) in presence of cast and crew of ‘Pari Hoon Main’ film. The story of ‘Pari Hoon Main’ film is by Irawati Karnik and the film stars Nandu Madhav, Devika Daftardar, Shruti Nigade & Flora Saini in lead roles. Cinematography by Rohan Madkaikar, music by Sameer Saptiskar and editing by Ritekesh Mamdapur are the other credits of the film.
Now, Rapper Shreyas Jadhav presents ‘Fakat Party’ to his fans
Known for his popular Rap numbers ‘Aamhi Puneri‘ and ‘Veer Marathe‘ Rapper King JD alias Shreyas Jadhav has come out with a party song in Marathi, which is suitably titled ‘Fakat Party‘. So, after Honey Singh, Raftar, Badshah, who have brought Pop music from western countries, it is now the turn of Shreyas Jadhav to entertain his fans, who are rising in large numbers.
This party song has been offered by Everest Entertainment & Ganraj Productions on the music of Harsh, Karan Aditya and direction and choreography by Sujit Kumar. About 100 glamorous models are part of this song, including some foreigners. In short, this Marathi rap song will have a look of any Hindi or English rap song, which will also present posh cars to give a different look to this party song. In short, Shreyas Jadhav is all set to rock through this song.
‘Dhondi’ will be a timely film highlighting issues of farmers
Till now, many Marathi films have dealt with the issue of farmer’s suicides in Maharashtra. But, there has been no solution to this serious issue. Some films have blamed the administration. But, that has not helped to stop the suicides of farmers. Now, producers Shivajirao Jadhav, Santosh Sutar and Nikhil Nangude under the banner of Soil Events and Entertainment are presenting a Marathi film ‘Dhondi‘ which will actually focus on the living conditions of the farmers and show the way to those living in cities, to bring such farmers into mainstream.
Director Monish Uddhav Pawar feels that is a farmer gets the right price for his crop, he would not attempt suicide. He is also confident that his film would help prevent many farmers from committing suicides. The film stars National award winning actor Vivek Chabukswar along with Sayaji Shinde, Pooja Pawar, Kishore Chougule, Raghavendra Kadkol, Suhasini Deshpande, Usha Naik and late Vinay Apte. By the way, this will be the last released film of Vinay Apte and hence the film will be a tribute to this late actor. Music by Kiran Raj and cinematography by Dinesh Satankar are the other credits. The film ‘Dhondi‘ is all set to release on 9th June 2017 and will be a timely film highlighting issues of farmers.
Fakta Marathi channel to present Ashok Saraf Film Festival
Known for his perfect timing for comedy, actor Ashok Saraf has entertained Marathi and Hindi film lovers for almost more than four decades. Apart from comedy, he has also performed negative and variety of character roles till date. Fakta Marathi channel, which has been offering variety to home viewers, will be presenting Film festival of Ashok Saraf films next week.
From Monday 22nd May 2017, they will be presenting one film of this comedy King Ashok Saraf daily at prime time 7 pm. The films which will be shown between 22nd and 27th May , daily at 7 pm. The names of these films are, ‘ Aamchyasarkhe Aamhich’,’Aabaa Zindabad’,’Gammat Jammat’,’ Galli Te Delhi’,’Bhannat Bhanu’,’ & ‘Most Wanted’.
‘Tatava’ ready for release on 26th May
Marathi films in general are known for handling varied topics and besides the subject there is In freshness in the content of many such films. Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Tatva’ which is now ready for release on 26th May 2017, will be handling an important social issue. Produced by Dr. Sharayu Pazare under the banner of ‘Sharayu Art Productions ‘Tatva’, is directed by Veteran actor turned director Arun Nalawade.
The story of ‘Tatva’ is the combination of love and art. The story is based on the life of Shilpa belonging to the Paatharvat community. Shilpa’s family makes a living by selling stone grinders and toys. At an unexpected moment Likhit enters her life. How Shilpa overcomes the various obstacles of cast related issues? This is what the film is all about. A new pair comprising of Sanjay Shejwal and Gauri Konge will make their debut in ‘Tatva’. The other artistes of this film are Arun Nalawde, Dr. Sharayu Pazhare, Devendra Dhodke, Dr. Sarita Gharde, Vikrant Borkar, Nutan Dhavne, Sheetal Raut, Sadanand Borkar, Kamlakar Borkar, Manjusha Joshi and child artiste Gauri.

New form of ‘Ti Phulrani’ to celebrate 100th show
Late P.L Deshpande’s famous play ‘Ti Phulrani’ was the most popular play in Marathi, when it was launched. Since then, many renowned actresses like Bhakti Barve, Priya Tendulkar, Sukanya Kulkarni & Amruta Subhash have played the lead character of Phulrani in this play. Now, the same play was been revived last year, with a new look by writer- director Rajesh Deshpande , who presented popular actress Hemangi Kavi in the lead role. Along with her , in the role of Professor is played by Dr. Girish Oak. Actress Reema Lagoo is no more
Renowned stage, television and film actress, who performed in all these three acting fields in Hindi and Marathi is no more. She passed away during midnight hours, due to severe cardiac arrest. She was 59. Reema Lagoo was admitted to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital after she suffered chest pain, but before the treatment could begin, she suffered severe cardiac arrest.
Reema Lagoo began her acting career on Marathi stage and later shifted to films, making her debut in 1980’s through Hindi films like ‘Aakrosh‘ and ‘Kalyug‘. Later, she found middle aged mother’s roles in many Hindi films. She became favourite of Rajashree Films, after she played Salman Khan’s mother. Later, she played mother of many Bollywood actor and actresses. Reema won four filmfare awards. Reema attained popularity on small screen among home viewers through her performance in the film ‘Tu Tu Main Main’.
She will be cremated at Oshivara crematorium today afternoon.

Be it on the field or off the field, any telecast on television on master blaster Sachin Tendulkar receives good audience support.
