Choreographer Ahmed Khan gives clap for Action packed Marathi film ‘Rocky’
Now days, new Marathi film makers are coming forward to produce and direct Marathi films, to offer variety. Seven Seas and Dream weaver Productions are now offering an action packed Marathi film titled ‘Rocky‘, produced by Manesh Desai, Nitin Shilkar, Prashant Tripathi & Himanshu Asher and directed by Adnan Shaikh. Recently, muhurat of this film was performed in presence of Bollywood Producer, director, choreographer Ahmed Khan, who gave the muhurat clap.
According to the makers, ‘Rocky‘ film will offer the package of Romance, family drama and action and will present fresh faces in the form of Sandeep Salve and Akshaya Hindalkar. Along with this pair will be renowned artistes like Ashok Shinde, Yatin Karyekar, Kranti Redkar, Ganesh Yadav, Vineet Sharma, Swapnil Rajshekhar & Deepti Bhagwat. Highlight of this film is that Bollywood actor Rahul Dev will be making his debut in Marathi. Cinematography by Farookh Khan and music by Sameer Saptiskar & Wasim Sadani are other credits.
Fakta Marathi to present Alka Kubal week
Alka Kubal is the most popular actress in Marathi film industry having performed variety of characters starting from sister, daughter in law & sister in law and so on for almost four decades now. So, to salute this renowned actress, Fakta Marathi Channel have organized ‘Alka Kubal Special‘ film fest this week, i.e. from 15th May to 20th May, 2017.It may be recalled that Alka Kubal has worked with all top actors of 80s and 90’s and has given a super hit film ‘Maherchi Saadi‘ in 1991, which made a record business of more than Rs. 6 Crore.
During this period, daily at 11.30 am her films will be shown to the home viewers. The names of these films are, ‘Bundalbaaz‘,’ Nashibvaan‘, ‘Savitabano‘, ‘Lagin Majhya Khandobacha‘, & ‘Mohini‘. Alka already has a big fan following all over Maharashtra and therefore, this film fest offered by the channel will be a great treat to the home viewers, especially the housewives.
Vikram Gokhale sets a new record of shooting non- stop for 15 hours
As an actor Vikram Gokhale has always invited attention of the audience, be it stage, television or films. His mere presence in the film, gives a special status to the film. While shooting, he gets so much involved in his work that many a times he forgets about time. Recently, while shooting for his forthcoming Marathi film ‘Khopa‘ he tirelessly worked non-stop for 15 hours . According to film’s director Dr.Sudhir Nikam, ever since Mr. Gokhale has been signed for this role, he has been taking a lot of interest in his character. “Sometimes, he gets so much engrossed in his work that he forgets about the time spent on stets,” says the director.
In ‘Khopa‘ film Vikram Gokhale plays the challenging role of a grandfather, who offers shelter to an orphan child and showers all the love and affection on him, treating him as his own grandson. The story of this emotion filled film revolves around this child. Produced by Jalinder Bhujbal, the film also stars Sankarshan Karhade, Aishwarya Tupe, Yatin Karyekar, Rooplaxmi Chougule, Bharat Ganeshpure, Asha Tare, Siddheshwar Zadbuke, Jalinder Bhujbal, Dr.Sudhir Nikam, Vidya Bhagwat, Ketan Pawar, Rishikesh Bam and others. Cinematography by Sameer Bhaskar and music by A.V.Prafulchandra are other credits. The highlight of the film is that for the first time maximum use of VFX has been done in this film.
चाहूलचे सर्जेराव पोहचले लोणावळ्याला
कलर्स मराठी वरील ‘चाहूल‘ मालिकेतील सर्जेराव म्हणजेच प्रेक्षकांहा लाडका अभिनेता अक्षर कोठारी याने आपल्या busy दिवसांमधून वेळ काढला. पण, हि संधी अक्षरला मिळाली. चाहूल मालिकेच शूटच्या दरम्यान त्याला अचानक कळाल कि आजचा दिवस संपला आहे आणि आता सगळे घरी जाऊ शकता. त्यामुळे अक्षर कोठारीने थेट लोणावळ्याला जायचा प्लान केला. खोपोलीमधील आदिवासी पाड्यातील आदिवासींना देखील भेटला, त्यांच्या बरोबर जेवला.
अक्षर म्हणाला,”सध्या मी बऱ्याच कामांमध्ये व्यस्त आहे त्यामुळे मला स्वत: साठी वेळ काढणे जमत नाही. पण त्यादिवशी packup लवकर झाले त्यामुळे मी लगेच निर्णय घेतला आणि बाहेर पडलो. मला मध्यंतरी स्लीप डिस्कचा त्रास झाला होता त्यामुळे मी गाडी चालवू शकत नव्हतो. पण, आता तो त्रास बराच कमी झाला आहे त्यामुळे मी एकटाच मस्त drive करत गेलो. खूप मज्जा आली, पण मी मानसी ला नक्कीच मिस केलं “.
Prabhat Chitra Mandal Film Fest to open with ‘Kaasav’
Prabhat Chitra Mandal in association with Thane Art Guild (TAG) and with the support of Cinematic Cinevision will be presenting a festival of Indian Films, which will be held from 15th May to 19th May 2017. The venue of the festival will be Prin. L.N. Welingkar Institute Auditorium, Matunga. Feature Films, documentaries and short films, which have won National award this year and which have been part of various international film festival, will be shown at this festival.
The festival titled Chitrabharati will open with National award winner Marathi film ‘Kaasav‘, directed by Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukhtankar. The five day festival will also present other Marathi films like ‘Lathe Joshi‘ directed by Mangesh Joshi and ‘Ek Albela‘ directed by Shekhar Sartandel. On this occasion, the host will also felicitate those who have won National awards. ‘Dhag’ fame Hansraj Jagtap returns with ‘Itemgiri’
Child star Hansraj Jagtap who received special Jury Mention award at the 60th National Awards for his performance in the film ‘Dhag‘, did get few offers from Marathi films. But now, he is returning as a young hero in the lead role through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Itemgiri‘ which is a love story of teenagers, directed by Pradeep Tonge and Mangesh Shedge. In this film his co star is ‘Fandry‘ fame young actress Rajeshwari Kharat.
The trailer of ‘Itemgiri‘ film was released recently and has been receiving good response on social networking sites. Made under the banner of A.R.V. & Aviraj Productions and produced by Amit Tavre, Vikas Mundada, Rahul Boob, Pradeep Beldare, Sachin Nigade, Santosh Kadam & Arvind Chandak, the film also stars Dhanashree Meshram, Manani Durge, Suraj Takke, Shashi Thosar, Chhaya Kadam, Amit Taware, Ramachandra Dhumal & Milind Shinde in prominent roles. Deepali Sayyad turns producer of a Marathi film
Popular television and Marathi film Actress Deepali Sayyad, has turned producer of a Marathi film, which was recently launched with a muhurat at Vaijapur. This untitled film is produced by her along with Shreyas and Rajendra Kamle under their production ‘Global Media Corporation‘. The film will be directed by Ashok Kamle and Surendra Verma. Written by Lekha Trailokya, the film’s cinematography will be by Arvind Singh.
Highlight of this film is that Hindi TV and cine actor and South film’s hero Thakur Anoop Singh will be making his debut through this film, to display his six pack abs muscles. The other lead artistes of this film are, ‘Ghajini‘ fame Pradeep Rawat, Deepali Sayyad, Varsha Usgaonkar, Uday Tikekar, Pankaj Vishnu, Apoorva Kavade, Dilip Wagh and Sahebrao Patil. The film presents a love story of Raj, Mili and Gauri and the makers of this film have claimed it to be a unique love story.
Vijay Chavan conferred with SKD Life Time Achievement award
Veteran Marathi actor Vijay Chavan known for his comedy roles on stage and screen, has been conferred with most prestigious Kalagaurav Life Time Achievement award by Sanskruti Kaladarpan( SKD) during their star studded annual awards function on Sunday. Reacting to this happy moment, Mr. Vijay Chavan, who is known for his humour filled speeches, said that this was his first Life Time Achievement award and thanked the organisers for considering him suitable for the same. “Now, I am expecting at least 9 more such awards in days to come, before retiring from this field” he added.
The award was presented to him by SKD Founder and President Mr. Chandrashekhar Sandve and Archana Nevrekar respectively, in presence of popular actress Smita Jaykar who is also associated with this group. Among the other popular awards presented on this occasion, Marathi drama ‘Code Mantra‘ and Marathi film ‘Ventilator‘ bagged maximum awards in different categories. In the television section serials ‘Saraswati‘ and ‘Duheri‘ bagged the popular serial awards.
Television stars Titiksha Tawde and Chinmay Udgirkar anchored the show, while Sonalee Kulkarni and Manasi Naik entertained the audience with their special performances on the occasion.
Now, Sunny Leone to make her debut in Marathi Movie
Born as Karenjit Kaur Vohra, but popularly known as Sunny Leone, this model turned actress is presently active in Hindi film industry. But, the big news is that she is all set to make her debut in Marathi films too. Sunny will be seen in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Boyz’, produced by Lalasaheb Shinde and Rajendra Shinde and directed by Vishal Deorukhkar.
Sunny will be performing an item number in this film on the music of Avadhoot Gupte, who is also presenting this film.
Avadhoot himself has revealed this news, as he seems to be very much excited about picturisation of the song, which according to him will be something new to Marathi film lovers. Popular bollywood singer Sunidhi Chouhan has rendered this song with choreography by Ganesh Acharya. In short, this song will be the big attraction of this film.
