‘Shoor Aamhi Sardar’ to release on 21st April

The fight against terrorism has always been the favourite subject of action filled Bollywood films in the recent past. But, in Marathi this subject hasn’t been tried much by new film makers. However, now Australia based Ganesh Loke has attempted a film on the backdrop of this subject lifting multiple responsibilities, such as writer, lead role, assistant director and producer in this film. Mr. Loke had earlier produced a Hindi film ‘Sarfaroshi‘ based on patriotism.
Made under the banner of Indo Aus production in association with Jhumka Films and Sasa productions, the film ‘Shoor Aamhi Sardar‘ is directed by Prakash Jadhav. Besides Ganesh Loke, the film also stars Sayaji Shinde, Bharat Ganeshpure, Sanjay Mone & Shantanu Moghe in prominent roles. Speaking about this film, Mr. Loke said that film making was his passion and he only wanted to inspire young Indians , through such a timely subject in this film. The film ‘Shoor Aamhi Sardar‘ is all set to release on 21st April 2017.
Johny Lever joins Manasi Naik in music album ‘Mala Lagin Karaych’

Nanubhai Jaisinghani of Video Palace recently released his new music album ‘Mala Lagin Karaych‘. During the launch of this album, the entire team of was present to witness the unique promotion, which comprised of a scene of Manasi’s wedding. In ‘Mala Lagin Karaych‘ album, Manasi Naik is joined by Bollywood’s King of comedy Johny Lever, ‘DID’ fame Siddhesh Pai and 12 dancers who have given a rocking performance.
The music by Swaroop Bhalwankar has Marathi and Western fusion in a rap style, which is produced, directed and choreographed by Siddhesh Pai. The song is rendered by Swaroop Bhalwankar and Adarsh Shinde. Cinematography by Kiran Gunjal, art direction by Pranay – Pritesh and costumes by Dipesh Hingu are the other credits. The song is expected to popularize during wedding ceremonies.
It’s Woman Power in Marathi Entertainment

On the occasion of International Women’s day, we at Marathi Movie World thought of reviewing the role of Woman in different departments of Marathi Entertainment. And, we observed that it’s woman power everywhere, be it Marathi stage, TV serials or films. They are in the forefront not only to entertain the audience but also prove their ability in different fields, such as acting, production, direction, costume designing, lyrics, music and so on.
If we start with the theatre section, today we find the female actresses inviting all the attention, while displaying their acting potential through various ongoing Marathi plays. To name a few, Mukta Barve in Code Mantra, Spruha Joshi in ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy‘, Leena Bhagwat in ‘Ke Dil Abhi Bhara Nahin‘ Reshma Ramchandra in ‘Chhada’ and so on.

On the small screen we find Mrunal Dusanis (Assa Sasar Surekh Bai), Akshaya Deodhar ( Tujhyat Jeev Rangala) , Mayuri Deshmukh ( Khulta Kali Khulena) have set some ideals before the audience, through their respective characters. Every serial has a negative character. Today, we see some of the women playing negative roles. So, it is a woman v/s Woman. But finally, it is always the win of pleasant over the evil. Title songs of almost all the serials have domination of female singers. Moreover, when we visit the sets, we find many women associated with production and technical work, which is highly appreciated.

Now, coming to the big screen, we have observed the importance given to many women oriented films in Marathi, with more and more women coming forward to making of films. So, after Sai Paranjape , Aruna Raje, we find women film makers like Shravani Deodhar, Sumitra Bhave, Kaanchan Adhikari, Samruddhi Porey, Mrinal Kulkarni, Kranti Redkar and so on, also coming forward to offer their creativity. Some of the actresses who have already proved their mettle through their respective characters in women oriented films and winning the awards and appreciation are, Ashwini Bhave, Urmila Kanitkar Kothare, Sai Tamhankar, Tejaswini Pandit, Mrunmayee Deshpande in the recent past. There are many others associated with production and post production work.
Actor – Industrialist Amit Shingte shows the way

Actor- Industrialist Amit Shingte saw a big dream in the city of Mumbai. He first acquired 12 acres of land in Mumbai, adjacent to Borivali’s National Park and then with the help of his brother Yuvraj, he constructed a well equipped studio L.P. Shingte Studio, which was offered for film shootings. Soon, not only Marathi, but Hindi film producers also preferred this studio, which they found close to the city of Mumbai and easily accessible on western express highway and very much inside the city limits of Mumbai.
Some of the big banner Bollywood films like ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and ‘Gabbar‘ have been shot here . Watching the security and other safety measures, artistes like Akshay Kumar, Sachin Pilgaonkar and director Rohit Shetty have praised this place. The studio is open for 24 hours for service. Now, Yashraj Films have also approached this studio and many more like Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Karan Johar have inspected this studio for their requirements. Amit Shingte is also committed to offer his studio to Marathi film makers and has already announced 50% concession to Marathi film makers. And, this is to be highly appreciated.
Zee Talkies ‘Gajar Kirtanacha’ to present Women’s day special week

‘Gajar Kirtanacha Sohala Anandacha‘ programme presented by Zee talkies, has already received a good response during morning hours daily from 7.30 am to 8.30 am. ‘Dr. Rakhmabai’ finds entry at DFW Asian Film Fest

We have all heard about the exploitation of women during the 18th century. Forthcoming film ‘Dr.Rakhmabai‘ produced by Dr.Swapna Patkar and directed by Anant Mahadevan is all set to release. But, before that the film has been receiving good response at international film festivals.
The film has been selected for screening at the DFW South Asian Film Festival. The teaser of ‘Dr.Rakhmabai‘ film was released recently on social media site of this festival. The film has an inspiring story of a woman Rakhmabai of 18th century from India, whose wish was to become a doctor. How she struggled in fulfilling her dream during those days, with the support of her father, has been shown in this film. Tannishtha Chatterjee plays the most challenging title role in ‘Dr.Rakhmabai‘ film.
Marathi film ‘Bhay’ to present Bollywood style music

Marathi film makers have been trying different experiments in the music department of their films. Till now, many Bollywood personalities have been associated either as singers or music directors of Marathi films. Now, 5G International’s Suspense filled Marathi film ‘Bhay‘ has also tried a different experiment to present Bollywood style music through their film. Directed by Rahul Bhatankar, this film is now all set to release on 24th March 2017.
The team associated with songs and music of this film are, Shekhar Astitva, who has penned lyrics of Bollywood films like ‘Rockey handsome‘ & ‘Ishq Vishq’; Music directors Vikram Montroj makes his debut in Marathi along with Brijesh Shandilya, while Bollywood singers Tulika Upadhyay, Ali Aslam also make their debut as singers. Above all, Sameer Phatarphekar has given background music of ‘Bhay‘ film. Now, it remains to be seen, how the Marathi audience would respond to ‘Bhay‘ film’s music.

‘Nagarsevak’ is coming to show the way of clean administration

Politics is one such game, where a common man gets trapped. When democracy doesn’t remain anymore the voice of people and turns in favour of the rulers, then it’s high time that someone among the common people comes forward to lead his area as the Municipal Corporator. The municipal elections are just over and we are watching the post election battle to prove majority.
Very rarely do we find in our films a rising politician turning a protagonist fighting for the common man. But, in the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Nagarsevak‘, there is one such hero, who is all set to capture the attention of all those, who are looking for leader who will work for public interest. The film will show the way of good administration.
Produced by Shashikant Choudhary and Jayashree Choudhary, ‘Nagarsevak- Ek Nayak‘ is directed by Deepak Kadam. The film stars Upendra Limaye in the title role of Malhar. The other artistes of the film are, Neha Pendse, Sayaji Shinde, Ganesh Yadav, Sunil Tawde, Sanjay Khapre, Savita Malpekar, Mayuri Deshmukh, Varsha Dandale and others. Music by Dev Ashish and cinematography by Triloki Choudhary are the other credits.
Prashant Girkar to revive old hit Marathi play ‘Ashya Hya Doghi’

When Lalan Sarang , Reema Lagoo and late Sulbha Deshpande were active with Marathi theatre, they had staged a play ‘Ashya Aamhi Doghi’, which had become hit because of its subject and performances by these three actresses. Now, going with the present trend of revival of old hit Marathi plays, ‘Ashya Aamhi Doghi’ play is also being revived by Producer Namita Girkar under her Prachiti Productions and will be staged 8th March 2017, with its inaugural show.
The play ‘Ashya Aamhi Doghi’ is being directed by Prashant Girkar , who has in the past directed 2009 Marathi film ‘Ishyaa’, besides directing plays like ‘Kon Konasathi’,‘Chouda Eke Chouda’, TV serials like ‘Swami Samarth’, ‘Reshimgathi’ in Marathi and few serials in Hindi. His two films ‘Wanva’ & ‘Rafoochakkar’ are also due for release. Incidentally, through his ‘Curtain raiser Academy for Film & Theatre’ he has been training newcomers, to find opportunities in acting field.
