‘Prem He’ on Zee Yuva from 27th February
Love has no barrier of language, caste or religion. It is just an emotion, around which the life of young lovers keeps revolving. From 27th February every Monday and Tuesday at 9 pm prime time, starts a new serial on this subject suitably titled ‘Prem He’. But, this love story has rural backdrop, to show how love is expressed in this region.
The story of ‘Prem He‘ serial revolves around Sunil and Radhika played by lead pair Vaibbhav Tatwawdi and Tejashree Pradhan. The first story of this serial is ‘Ruperi Valut’ which also has a song with the same title blossoming their love. The story is written by Sachin Tadakhe and the direction is by Santosh Manjrekar. The music of this serial is by Nilesh Moharir, with Hrishikesh Ranade and Ketaki Mategaonkar rendering their voices for the title song.
Sanjay Khapre returns as a villain in ‘Talaav’
Actor Sanjay Khapre has played variety of roles in number of Marathi films, during the past few years. He has even played lead role in the film ‘Bharla Malwat Rakhtaana’. But, his roles in films like ‘ ‘Fakta Ladh Mhanaa’, ‘Dagadi Chawl’, ‘Disco Sanya’ were memorable. The negative characters played by him in these films also established him as a villain. Now, Sanjay has found one more such role in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Talaav’, which is slated for release on 10th march 2017.
Sanjay is playing the cruel character of a villain Dhananjay Patil in this film . Produced by Manohar Phondke and directed by Jaibheem Kamble under the banner of SMV Films, the film also stars Saurabh Gokhale, Priyanka Raut. Music of this film is provided by Ashish Ambekar, with a popular song rendered by Nandesh Umap.
Siya Patil finds challenging role in ‘Garbh’
Siya Patil made her debut in Marathi films in the year 2010 through Yashwant Bahlekar directed film ‘Chal Gammat Karu’. Later, we did see her in few films in the lead role and also watched her in Marathi TV serials. But now, Siya is playing a challenging lead role in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Garbh’ , which is all set to release on 17th March 2017. A former State & national level basketball and Volleyball player, Siya was waiting for a challenging role and now she has found the same in this film.
Siya plays the character of Kavita , passing through different stages of a woman. In short, she plays the central character in this film. In this film, her co stars are Sushant Shelar, Nishigandha Wad, Anant Jog, Yatin Karyekar, Vandana Waknis, Pallavi & Vaidya. Directed by Subhash Ghorpade, the film is produced by Rajendra Atole.
First look and music of Rubik’s Cube unveiled in presence of Salman Khan
Presence of Bollywood personalities during the music or first look launch of Marathi films, has set a new trend. Recently, Producer director Mahesh Manjrekar unveiled the music and first look of his forthcoming Marathi film ‘Rubik’s Cube‘ in presence of his friend Salman Khan in Mumbai. On this occasion, Salman’s friend Yulia Vantoor presented a dance performance, which received good response from the invitees.
‘Rubik’s Cube‘ has been shot at picturesque locations of Europe covering places like Italy, Switzerland & Slovenia. The film stars Mrunmayee Deshpande, Gashmeer Mahajani, Surabhi Bhosale, Siddhant Mulye, Kiran Yadnyopavit, Sandeep Pathak, Mahesh Manjrekar and Medha Manjrekar. Music director Vishal Mishra is making his debut as music director through this film, which is Produced by Avinash Ahale .
Chirag and Kajal’s ‘Love Betting’ blossoms at the foothills of Himalayas
Wonderful picturesque locations have always played an important role in presenting love stories on big screen. In Bollywood, Film maker Yash Chopra had paid more attention on this aspect. Today, our Marathi film makers are nowhere behind Hindi film industry, when it comes to selecting suitable locations for shooting of songs on the backdrop of love stories.
Recently, S.N Films Entertainment’s Lalchand Sharma and Sunita Sharma and director Raju Meshram picturised a song of their forthcoming Marathi film ‘Love Betting‘ in Kulu Manali and Solang valley located at the picturesque foothills of Himalayas surrounded by snow. The song was picturised on lead pair Chirag Patil and Kajal Sharma. Music of the film ‘Love Betting‘ is composed by Pravin Kunvar, while cinematography is by Aniket Khandagale

Mukta Barve turns Radio Jockey with ‘Mukta Barve Show’
Having already established herself as a renowned stage, television and film actress, Mukta Barve is now all set to turn a Radio Jockey through her new programme ‘Mukta Barve Show’ which will air shortly on My FM radio Channel in Western Maharashtra. We are all aware about the sacrifice of a woman in different roles as Grandmother, Mother, wife , sister and daughter. With change of time, their roles have also changed. Today’s woman has to perform balancing act as a housewife and also as a working woman.
Through this woman oriented programme, Mukta will create awareness about advancement of women in every field. Savaniee Ravindrra attains popularity in Chennai
Savaniee Ravindrra, a very talented Marathi singer, who was a ‘Idea SA RE GA MA PA‘ TV show finalist in the year 2011 , has shown considerable progress as a singer in films and television. Daughter of Dr. Ravindra Ghangurde and Dr. Vandana Ghangurde who are both singers, Savaniee Ravindrra did her schooling from Fergusson College, Pune. She has a strong classical background. Trained in Classical Vocals by Pandit Pandharinath Kolhapure, she was also trained in ghazal by Ravi Date.
Now, this wonder girl has now offered her Tamil song ‘Vennilavin Salaigalil‘ this valentines season and has attained popularity in Chennai. We have heard about some non Marathi singers singing for Marathi films. So, don’t be surprised, if Savaniee finds opportunity in south films, in near future.
Speaking about her latest achievement, Savaniee Ravindrra says, ” Composer Sanjay Ravi did listen to one of my cover songs ‘Confluence of Indian Music’, he connected with me through Facebook & a friend Abhay who is the co-singer for the same song. He asked me to sing a tamil song for him and it was like a dream come true. So, without a second thought I flew down to Chennai and recorded my first Tamil song.”
This song has been penned by Bala, Composed by Sanjay Ravi, beautifully sung by Savaniee Ravindrra & Keshav. The video is created by The Studio, and the song is being appreciated by many stalwarts like composer Ghibran, Hariharan jee & others.
Ramesh Bhatkar is still matchless
Having earned name and fame on television during late 80s, Ramesh Bhatkar became an actor in demand during early 90s, with more and more assignments coming from Marathi and Hindi films. He has also played lead role in detective Hindi serial ‘Commander’. But, Ramesh has always found himself comfortable with Marathi films and serials. Now, only difference is that he plays elderly characters. Yet, he invites all the attention with his style of delivering the dialogues.
When MarathiMovieWorld.com met Ramesh recently, we did ask him about his new assignments; and he quickly said that a PRO from Bollywood had approached him with few roles. “For a long time, I haven’t done any Hindi films. Moreover, I don’t exactly know, what will be my role in these films. And, still the dates are not finalized. On the other hand, makers of Marathi films and serials very well know, which character will suit me and accordingly they come with their offers.” said Ramesh.
Ramesh has recently done a commercial for a Jewelers’ brand. “This ad film also came to me from a Bollywood PRO. The makers approached me, stating that the scene I was required to perform was in Marathi and filled with lots of emotions. I agreed. And, when they shot this film, they were highly impressed.” he said.
‘Premaay Namah’ to release on 24th February
Generally, films based on love stories don’t miss a chance to find their release date around Valentine’s day. But, makers of ‘Premaay Namah’ have decided to release their love story on 24th February 2017. Director of the film Jagadish Vatharkar has tried to give a different look to this love story, by picturising an underwater romantic song on lead pair Devendra Chougule and Rupali Krishnarao, which according to him is USP of this film.
Producer of the film Uttam Chorade has also started the promotion of this film in a big way, by launching a video game on Play store, on the lines of some big budget Hindi films. Along with the lead pair, the film also stars Surekha Kudchi, Prachi Lalge,Prakash Dhotre, Bharat Daini, Saili Magdum and Snehalraj.
