ABMNP- Borivali present popular awards with Kalarajani 2012
Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natyaparishad, Borivali Branch presented their annual awards to renowned personalities from Marathi entertainment, for their excellence in respective fields. On this occasion, the hosts had organized a programme ‘Kalarajani 2012′, presenting different forms of Dances ‘Sujalam Sufalam Bharat’ from 28 states in India. It was a wonderful presentation of Indian art, which was appreciated with overwhelming audience response.
When the Lifetime achievement award was announced for veteran actress Ashalata, for her contribution to Marathi theatre. The actress, who has served the Marathi entertainment industry for the past 55 years; arrived on the stage, with folded hands, responding to this big honour, Ashalata said that generally Life Time Achievement awards are given at a time when the artistes prefers to retire from the profession. But, this award will only boost my confidence to keep performing better in near future. Her award was sponsored by Mr. Uday Rajeshirke, from CID Crime Branch Mumbai, in memory of Baliram Krishnaji Rajeshirke.
Other three Marathi actresses who were honoured on this occasion were Ms. Nayana Apte with SwarRangraj Award, Ms. Madhura Velankar Satam with RangPratibha award and Megha Ghadge with Lokrang award. In absence of Megha, her award was received by her brother Sagar. Mr. Gopal Shetty, the popular BJP MLA, who was the chief guest, presented the awards and also assured the hosts for any help in kind in near future. Another MLA Vinod Ghosalkar also offered a donation of Rs. 1 lakh to ABNP, Borivali and handed over the cheque to their president Vinod Shah. Veteran actor Pradeep kabre, Vice President of the Borivali Unit of ABNP , played the anchor of the show.
Others who were also felicitated with cash award and a trophy were Ms. Sushma Hippalgaonkar (Swarabhinay Award), Mr. Arun Kakade( Rangaprayog award) , Mr. Anant More ( Rangsaaz award) and Mr. Vijay Tari (karyarang Award). The invitation for this Grand function came from an enthusiastic Mr. Anil Idurkar, member of ABNP, Borivali.
