Marathi film ‘Kshitij’ to highlight the importance of education
Cinema is the best medium to highlight the social issues. Some sensible film makers have always invited the attention of audience towards many such social problems. Now, Media Film Craft Company and Navroj Prasala Productions along with Karishma Mhadolkar will be presenting one such Marathi film ‘Kshitij‘ which will be directed by Manoj Kadam. According to the makers, the film will offer entertainment besides making the audience aware of the importance of education social values.
‘Kshitij‘ stars National film award winning actor Upendra Limaye in the lead role. Recently, the trailer and promotional song of this film was launched in Mumbai, in presence of all the artistes of this film. During this event the child artistes of this film Vaishnavi Tangade presented this song along with other child artistes. The promotional song of this film has been penned by Guru Thakur with the music provided by Shailendra Barve. Yogesh Rajguru is the the cinematographer of this film, while Resul Pookutty is the sound designer. Beside Upendra Limaye and Vaishnavi Tangade, the film also stars Manoj Joshi, Vidyadhar Joshi, Sanjay Mone, Kanchan Jadhav, Rajkumar Tangade, Prakash Dhotre and others.

‘Dholkichya Talavar’ fame dancing actress Richa Agnihotri is in the news today. After ‘Dholkichya Talavar’, Richa earned name and f’ame through another reality show ‘Kick’ in South. With this popularity , Richa who is an exponent of Kathak , has done her unique photo shoot with a difference. Shot by photographer Nandu Dhurandhar, Richa presented a theme of five elements of universe.
As we are all aware that these five elements have both the perishable and non perishable part just like the human body. And, If we look deep into it, we realise how these five elements are attached to our lives. With this unique theme photo shoot Richa has set a new trend in Marathi . The costume and style of this theme were by Abhijit Thakur. Miss Thane 2014 Richa is now promoting herself in a right way, to get the recognition from film industry.
Riteish & Genelia Deshmukh launch their film ‘Faster Fene’ with muhurat
B. R. Bhagwat’s famous cartoon book character ‘Faster Fene’ has already popularized among Marathi readers. Now, after producing ‘Lai Bhari‘ Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh are returning to Marathi film production with their new film ‘Faster Fene’, which was launched recently with the muhurat. ‘Ghanta‘ fame actor Amey Wagh will be playing the lead character in this film, while the film will be directed by ‘Classmates‘ fame director Aditya Sarpotdar.
It may be recalled that Riteish made his acting debut in Marathi through his own film ‘Lai Bhari’ directed by Nishikant Kamat, but for his production debut in Marathi, he had opted for Ravi Jadhav as director. However, now it’s time for young Aditya Sarpotdar to direct his film. The screenplay of this film is written by Kshitij Patwardhan. Now, it remains to be seen, how this new combination is going to work for the film’s success.
Real life couple celebrate ‘Padwa’ on small screen
There are many occasions, where the real life couple are required to perform traditional ceremonies on screen, as the script of the serial or film demands it. In the past, real life couples like Ramesh Deo- Seema, Umesh Kamat & Priya Bapat, Adinath Kothare and Urmila Kanetkar have played couples on screen and they have done full justice to their respective characters.
But, there is another real life couple in the form of Avinash Narkar and Aishwarya Narkar , who are also performing their husband and wife roles on small screen very convincingly. Both Avinash and Aishwarya are part of the ongoing serial ‘Lek Majhi Ladaki‘ very convincingly. Recently, on the sets of this serial, they also performed Padwa, to celebrate their on screen Diwali and they just looked ‘made for each other‘. Even otherwise, both Avinash and Aishwarya are doing very well, in all the three mediums of Marathi entertainment and have also produced a film. Bollywood stars Raveena Tandon and Sohail launch the music of ‘Bhay’
The grand music launch of 5G International presented and Sachin Katarnawre produced Marathi film ‘Bhay‘ , was held in presence of popular Bollywood stars Raveena Tandon and Sohail Khan recently. On this occasion, the Trailer of this film and songs were screened. Actors Raveena Tandon and Sohail Khan praised the makers of this film Marathi and expressed that this film would definitely be a new experience for the film lovers.
While praising all the artistes of ‘Bhay‘ , Raveena Tandon also expressed her wish to act in Marathi films. The big news about this film disclosed on this occasion was, it will also be released in three other languages, Tamil, Telugu and Arabic, besides Marathi . Rahul Bhathankar has directed this film besides editing it.
‘Bhay‘ has three songs of different genres and have been picturized in a different style. The songs would take the viewers on a small journey on a cruise, with beautiful visuals of helipads and skyscrapers of Dubai besides famous beaches. Lyrics by Shekhar Astitva and music by Vikram Montrose released by Zee Music, are the other credits .
The film stars Abhijit Khandkekar, Satish Rajwade, Uday Tikekar, Smita Gondkar, Sanskruti Balgude, Vinit Sharma, Siddharth Bodke, Shekhar Shukla, Dhananjay Mandrekar & Nupur Dhudwadkar. Story, screenplay and dialogues are by Nitin Vijay Supekar while Rajesh Rathore is the cinematographer of this film.
Rajkumar Hirani attends premiere of ‘Ventilator’ at MAMI festival
The Jio MAMI Film festival which is at present going on in Mumbai, is showcasing some of the best films from different countries like Poland, Argentina, USA, Austria, Philipines, Germany, China, Bulgaria,Denmark, Russia, Japan, Nepal, Canada and other countries besides India. The festival is held under the aegis of the Mumbai Academy of Moving (MAMI) and is a platform that is shorthand for excellence in cinema. The goal is to cultivate and stir up passion for films. The 18th edition of the festival will go on till 27th October, 2016.
In Marathi talkies section, there are films like ‘Rajwade & Sons‘, ‘Vakratunda Mahakaya‘,’Bioscope‘ and others being shown. Yesterday, evening forthcoming Marathi film ‘Ventilator‘ produced by Priyanka Chopra and directed by Rajesh Mapuskar was premiered, in presence of dignitaries and special guest popular Bollywood film director Rajkumar Hirani. And, according to makers of this film, he really enjoyed watching this film . ‘Ventilator‘ is all set to release on 4th November 2016, all over Maharashtra.
‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusli’ bags maximum MMW awards
Marathi Movie World.com have announced their viewer’s choice awards for the year 2015. Marathi film ‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusali’ has bagged maximum awards in different categories. Besides bagging the Best film award, the film has also won the best Singer award for Shankar Mahadevan, followed by best music , best Marketed film and best Promo award.
In the drama section, ‘Don’t Worry Be happy’ bagged the best play award, while Gashmeer Mahajani and Rutuja Shinde were declared best Fresh faces.

Known for her memorable roles on Marathi stage, television and films, well Known actress Ashwini Ekbote breathed her last also while performing a show at Pune’s Bharat Natya Mandir today evening. Her sudden demise came as a shocking news for the entire Marathi entertainment industry. An actress par excellence, Ashwini was known for her sincerity and commitments .She used to be very punctual, when it was reporting on the sets.
Her Marathi plays ‘Eka Kshanaat’ and ‘Tya Tighanchi Goshta’ displayed her potential as a complete actress. Her talent was also noticed on small and big screens, whether it was her performance in TV serials like ‘Radha Hi Bavari’, ‘Kashyala Udyachi Baat’, ‘Duheri ( Ongoing serial in which she played the role of Jyoti) or roles in films like ‘Debu’, ‘Mahaguru’, ‘Bavare Prem he’, ‘Taptapadi’ and last released film ‘BhoBho’. She had also performed in Hindi film ‘Ek Pal Pyar Ka’.

Anup Jalota launches poster of Marathi film ‘Family 420′
Inviting popular Bollywood personalities for the poster and music launch of their films, has set a new trend in Marathi film industry. In the recent past, we have seen many such Bollywood personalities showing their presence for at such events. Now, the makers of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Family 420‘ had invited well known singer Anup Jalota to launch the poster of their film, that too in Nagpur.
Clearly suggesting through its title, the film ‘Family 420‘ will be a comedy produced by Dev Raaj under the banner of Lavanya Productions & Creations and will be directed by Santosh Gaikwad. Highlight of the film is the presence of two popular Bollywood comedians Asrani and Sunil Pal in this film, along with Upasana Singh, Vijay Patkar, Vijay Kadam, Swapnil Rajshekhar, Ashish Newalkar, Harshada Patil, Sukanya Kulkarni, Geeta Nikharge and others.
