Priya & Sai starrer film ‘Vazandar’ to release on 11th November
Ever since, Marathi film ‘Vazandar‘ has been launched, it has been in the news for a simple reason that Priya Bapat Kamat and Sai Tamhankar the two top actresses in Marathi, are working together. The past experience tells us that whenever two top actresses work together, that particular film is always remains in news during the shooting of that film, for a simple reason that they can never get along well together.
But, in the case of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Vazandar‘, this doesn’t seem to be true, as director Sachin Kundalkar has not only completed the shooting of this film in time, but has also announced its release date as 11th November 2016. It may be recalled that in the past 10 years, we have not noticed any kind of rivalry among Marathi actresses. They have always tried to remain good friends with each other, even if they are not working together. And, talking about Sai and Priya, they were seen together in a happy mood, at a success party of other film recently .

Digital poster launch of ‘A Dot Com Mom’
Today Social networking sites have become very popular, helping people to reach out to maximum people in shortest time. The film is produced and directed by Dr. Meena Nerurkar, who is also acting in this film. Before this film, she had presented Marathi plays like ‘Avagha Rang Ekachi Jhala‘ and ‘Sundara Manamadhye Bharali‘. In ‘A Dot Com Mom’ film, she plays the title role of a Mother, who goes to USA to display her skills. The digital poster of this film, clearly suggests it. Sai Gundewar plays her son in this film, while Vikram Gokhale plays the role of father. Her daughter in law is played by American artiste Apurva Bhalerao.
Team ‘Yaari Dosti’ welcome Lord Ganesha with a difference
Every film maker has different ways of promoting his film. Makers of ‘Yaari Dosti‘ in an event recently asked their four lead artistes to prepare a mini Ganesha made of clay, in presence of invitees. And, they did so, naming him as ‘Ganu’. The venue at NSCI Worli had a festive look, with scented flavour atmosphere with flower decor around and specially decorated Rangoli inviting the attention of all. Above all, well known singer Adarsh Shinde added extra flavour singing the ‘Bappa Bappa..‘ song on the traditional drum beats.
Written and directed by Shantanu Tambe the film revolves around the friendship of four youngsters played by national award winner Hansraj Jagtap along with ‘Shala‘ fame Aakash Waghmode and newcomers Aashish Gade & Sumit Bhokse. The film also stars Sandeep Gaikwad, Mitali Mayekar, Namrata Jadhav, Shreyas Raje , Nisha Parulekar, Manisha Kelkar, Ashok Pavade, Janardan Singh & Manish Shinde. The film is all set to release on 16th September 2016.
Marathi stars take off from work to celebrate Ganapati Festival
Ganapati festival is the most popular community festival in Maharashtra. Many Maharashtrian families also celebrate this festival for eleven days. Our Marathi film and TV stars, who are otherwise busy with their shooting schedule throughout the year, take off for few days, to be with their families, to celebrate this festival in traditional manner.
Now days, many celebrities from Marathi TV and Film industry belong to places like Pune, Nashik, Sangli and Nagpur and they all proceed to their native places to welcome Ganpati Bappa to their homes. Prominent among them were Prarthana Behere, Shantanu Moghe and wife Priya , who were surprised to find some television unit visiting their Ganapati bappa. Popular TV show anchor and actor Nilesh Sable is with his family in Pune to celebrate Ganapati fest, while Abhijeet Khandkekar is with his wife at Nashik to celebrate this traditional fest at his home.
Film makers Ravi Jadhav and actor Sameer Dharmadhikari have prepared the idol of eco friendly Ganapati idol at home with his family and then offer prayers with his entire family. Among others who are celebrating Ganapati with their family are Swwapnil Joshi, Kedar Shinde, Kishori Godbole, Chinmay Udgirkar, Yogita Chitale & Sayali Sanjeev . Some senior actors like Mohan Joshi, while celebrating the festival have also spoken about environment friendly festival, making an appeal to people in Maharashtra to avoid noise pollution.
Sachit Patil plays a blogger in ‘One Way Ticket’
We have been hearing a lot about forthcoming Marathi film ‘One Way Ticket’, ever since it was launched. The trailer of the film is very appealing, clearly indicating that it is an action packed film, shot in Europe. But, not much is known about this so called suspense thriller, except for the character of Sachit Patil, one of the lead artistes in this film. Till now, sachit has played variety of characters in Marathi films.
This time, Sachit is playing a blogger, going with the latest tradition on social networking sites. Speaking about his character, Sachit says that he has never written a blog in real life, but had an opportunity to play a blogger, through this film. “What I have written in my blog, shall remain a big mystery for the audience, till they watch this film.” says Sachit.

Rajendra Shisatkar to play title role in ‘Mr. & Mrs. Unwanted’
We have been watching Rajendra Shisatkar in the role of Police officer in many films, including a popular Hindi TV serial ‘Crime Patrol’ . Now, Rajendra will be seen in title role of ‘Mr. Unwanted’ in the film ‘Mr.& Mrs. Unwanted’. In the film, he plays a Bank Manager. Along with Rajendra, ‘Pappi De’ video song fame Smita Gondkar, will seen in the role of an event manager.
‘Mr.& Mrs. Unwanted’ will present a story of a couple, which goes after unwanted luxuries in life. Produced by Mitang Bhupesh Rawat, the film is directed by Dinesh Anant, who makes his debut as a director, through this film. He had earlier worked as assistant director for award winning films like ‘Shwaas’ and ‘Dombivali fast’. Dinesh has also written the screenplay of this film. Music by Shrihari vaze and cinematography by Sachin Gadankush are the other credits.

Anand Shinde records a song for ‘Adults Only’
We have heard about the films getting censor certificate ‘Adults Only‘ for screening in theatres. But now, there will be a new Marathi film titled as ‘Adults Only‘. Will this film receive ‘U’, ‘UA’ or ‘A’ certification, it remains to be seen. At present, the film is in its production stage, by already creating a new record, for being the first film to be shot on iphone 6. Director Milind Kavade will be attempting this new experiment for this film, which is being produced by Ajay Thakur under the banner of Seven Horse Entertainment.
Recently, the first song ‘Aapla Haath Jagannath..‘ of this film rendered in the voice of renowned singer Anand Shinde was released on social networking site and within a day, it received overwhelming response. According to the makers of this film, this song is sure to popularize during the forthcoming Ganesh Festival. They are also confident that the music lovers would accept this song, as they did it for Anand Shinde‘s previous song ‘Chimani Udali…‘.
‘Photocopy’ promises youthful tale of love and friendship

Films based on love triangle always receive a good response from film lovers. And, if it is about a double role, it is likely to invite more attention. One such film suitably titled ‘Photocopy‘ is now due for release on 16th September 2016. Trailer of this film was launched on Tuesday, in presence of lead artistes of this film, singer turned producer Neha Rajpal and director Vijay Maurya. The film is presented by Viacom 18 along with Neha Rajpal.
Parna Pethe, whom we saw in films like ‘Rama Madhav‘ and most recent ‘YZ‘ is playing double role of twin sisters, in ‘Photocopy‘ film, while Chetan Chitnis is making his debut through this film. Trailer of this film clearly suggests that it is all about college lifestyle of the youth and has been shot at the picturesque locations of Lavasa, off. Pune. Speaking on the occasion of trailer launch, actor and ad film maker Vijay Maurya thanked Neha Rajpal for selecting him to direct this film on the subject of youth.
Veteran actress Vandana Gupte is playing an important role of a grandmother in this film, while ‘Shala‘ fame Anshuman Joshi is returning with an important role in this film.
Colors- Marathi offers inspiring tales of legends
Marathi television plays a very important role in educating the audience and at the same time offering subjects to inspire them, besides offering entertainment. There are some serials, which are based on mythology, but they are prolonged , taking away the interest of the audience. However, the new serial on Colors Marathi, suitably titled ‘Awaaz-Itihasatlya Soneri Panacha‘, which began on 27th June 2016 has already completed two chapters, covering the biopic of two legends namely ‘Sant Dnyaneshwar‘ and ‘Mahatma Jyotiba Phule‘ the legends in history of Maharashtra. It was a pleasure to watch the performances of Saurabh Gokhale and Prasad Oak, portraying the roles of Sant Dnyaneshwar and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule .
After covering the important events in their lives in about eight episodes each, now they have started the chapter of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore, whose reign in central India lasted for about 30 years. Ahilyabai was a very able ruler and a perfect organizer and was highly respected person. Therefore, it will be interesting to watch her story on small screen, through this serial. It is also interesting to watch Urmila Kanetkar Kothare playing her character, after returning to small screen almost after 5 years.
