Marathi film makers are opening doors for TV artistes
The journey of most of the talented artistes in the acting field, has been from stage to television and finally the feature films. The best examples are artistes like Vikram Gokhale, Nana Patekar, Reema Lagoo, Usha Nadkarni, Shivaji Satam, Ramesh Bhatkar, Amruta Subhash, Sunil Barve, Subodh Bhave, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Siddharth Chandekar and so on. But, now days, some of the artistes directly get into television and films, through modeling , auditions or various reality shows, held to select the best acting talents. And, if you have to be into films, you have to be an all rounder, with acting plus dance skills. Therefore, female artistes in particular are equipping themselves, by learning different forms of dances, besides acting.
However, the general observation for the past few years is that our Marathi film makers have given scope to many television artistes. Right from Sai Tamhankar, Tejaswini Pandit, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Abhijit Khandkekar, Siddharth Chandekar, Aniket Vishwasrao, Santosh Juvekar, Aditi Sarangdhar, Mukta Barve, Umesh kamat, Priya Bapat to Spruha Joshi and so on; everybody found suitable roles in Marathi films.
In the recent past, Mrunal Dusanis also found roles in Marathi films, after her successful career on television. Suyash Tilak has also found roles in films and so have Bhushan Pradhan and Sankruti Balgude, the popular pair of ‘Pinjra’. Very recently, we saw Vaibhav Tatwawadi finding good offers from Marathi films. ‘Swapnanchya Palikadle’ TV actress Gauri Nalavade made a successful debut through ‘Friends’ that too opposite Swapnil Joshi. And now, popular Marathi TV actress Priya Marathe’s two films ‘Vighnaharta Mahaganapati’ and ‘1234’ are ready for release shortly. Isn’t that a good news for our television artistes?
New Marathi film ‘Jalsa’ launched with muhurat
Actor, producer director Ashutosh Raj is making a Marathi film titled ‘Jalsa’. Recently, the film was launched with muhurat, followed by shooting. Ashutosh who has written the story of the film , along with Abhiram Bhadkamkar. Incidentally, Abhiram is a creative director of this film, which also stars popular comedian Bharat Ganeshpure. The other star cast of the film, besides Ashutosh and Bharat , comprise of Nikhil Wairagar, Girija Joshi, Shital Ahirrao,Sonali Vinod, Sagar Karande, Abhijit Chavan, Arun Kadam & Ankur Vadhave.
The story of this film is about two youngsters Amar & Prem from Pune from rich family, who are keen on taking up acting as their career, much against the wish of their parents. But, their maternal uncle encourages and helps them. Their journey on way to this glittering field, is all that the film will present, through its humour filled screenplay. The film will be released soon, after completion of shooting and post production work.
Who will prove ‘Vazandar’? Priya or Sai ?
After being ignored by film maker Sanjay Jadhav, for his film ‘Guru’, Sai Tamhankar has joined the camp of national award winning filmmaker Sachin Kundalkar. It may be recalled that she was part of Sanjay Jadhav’s films, since ‘Duniyadari’ , followed by ‘Pyarwali Love Story’ and ‘Tu Hi Re’. But, the last two films, didn’t do well.
Sai has now completed shooting of his film ‘Vajandar’ which also has Priya Bapat in parallel role. Presently, the post production work of this film is going on and the film will be released soon. Priya, who had already worked with Sachin Kundalkar before, in his film ‘Happy Journey’ is still riding with the success of this film, besides two other successful films, ‘Lokmanya’ and ‘Time Pass-2’.
However, same is not the case with Sai Tamhankar. Except for ‘Classmates’ which was a multi starrer and released early last year, none of her films received success. So, she desperately needs a hit film, to stay in the race. But, we understand that Priya has worked very hard, to give her best in ‘Vazandar’. She had also put on additional weight, to meet the requirement of her role. And, now, she is back to normal. Anyway, it will be a good competition to watch between the two actresses in the same film.
Happy days are here, for Aniket Vishwasrao
Aniket Vishwasrao, who began his acting career with a film ‘Let the Wind Blow – Hava Ane De’ with an important role of Arjun a boy, later made his debut in Marathi films through ‘Lapoon Chhapoon’ in 2007. But, he came into limelight through TV serial ‘Kalat Nakalat’. Aniket did perform in Marathi plays, but he focused his attention on Marathi films. Some of his films, with prominent roles are, ‘Rangee Berangee’,‘Fakta Ladh Mhana’ , ‘Dhamak’, ‘Yeda’,’No Entry Pudhe Dhoka Aahe’, ‘Poshter Boyz’ and so on. But, in films like ‘Dhamak’,’Bhakarkhadi 7 Kms’ he proved his ability to play solo lead hero. One wondered, as to why, he is not being offered such roles?
Last year, we had not heard much about him. But, it seems that this new year is lucky for him. His two films, namely ‘Poshter Girl’ and ‘Ek Hotee Rani’ are all set to release one after the other from coming Friday onwards. In ‘Poshter Girl’ he plays one of the five proposers to leading lady Sonalee Kulkarni, for marriage, while in ‘Ek Hotee Rani’ he plays a solo hero opposite Meenal Ghorpade. While ‘Poshter Girl’ is a film on woman oriented subject, with a social message, ‘Ek Hotee Rani’ is a romantic film, with a different love story, shot at beautiful locations of Goa.
Now, it remains to be seen, which film will help Aniket to progress further in his acting career. Marathi Movie World wishes him all the best, for both his films.
Viraj all set to release his next film ‘Babanchi Shala’
Director R.Viraj, who made films like ‘Shyamche Vadil’, ‘Sangharsh’ and last year’s ‘Vajlach Pahije Game Ki Shinema’ , is all set to release his next Marathi film ‘Babanchi Shala’, which is based on a sensible story. The film is based on Neela Satyanarayan’s story, which about a prisoner Mahipat Ghorpade undergoing jail sentence and it’s effect on his family. It revolves around few important characters, Mahipat, his daughter Sonali, Jailor Shrikant Jamdade and social worker Neeta Satam.
‘Babanchi Shala’ has already won awards at various film festivals , prior to its release in theatres and has invited attention of many film lovers. The film stars Sayaji Shinde in the lead role, along with Shashank Shende, Aishwarya Narkar, Kamlesh sawant, Chaya kadam, Aarti More, Kartik Chavan, Umesh Bolke, Milind Adhikari and child artiste Gauri Deshpande. Usha Naik, Uday Tikekar,Dr.Vilas Ujavane & Sharad Bhutadia will be seen in special appearance in this film.
Produced by Vilas mane & Umesh Nathani, the film has music by Soham Pathak and Neela Satyanarayan. Screenplay & dialogues by Parag Kulkarni, cinematography by Ankush Birajdar and editing Nilesh Navnath Gavand are other credits of this film.
‘Mr. & Mrs. Sadachari’ promises musical entertainment
Ashish Wagh is a big name in Film Corporate sector, having distributed about 300 films. Now, with the help of Utpal Acharya and Ommvir Mahadik, who are producers of this film, Ashish is making his debut as a director, through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Mr. & Mrs. Sadachari’. On Monday evening, he released the music of his film, unveiling the video of all the five songs, which were shown to the media and other invitees, including Bollywood director Umesh Shukla( ‘OMG’ fame).
Lead pair of the film Vaibhav Tatwawadi and Prarthana Behere, anchored the show, by introducing all the concerned people behind every song as well as artistes and makers of the film. And, they really did a good job. All the five songs in this film promise musical entertainment , through this film, which is a tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, as there is one song ‘Jagadamb…’ which is all praise for the Great Maratha King. The film is also due for release on 19th February 2016, i.e. Shiv Jayanti day. There is also a romantic song picturised on lead pair in picturesque Mauritius. Watching all these songs, it gives an impression that the film has been made on a grand scale, with no compromise on colourful costumes, wonderful art work and beautiful locations.
Lyrics by Omkar Mangesh Datt, Guru Thakur & Pranit Kulkarni, the music of the songs has been composed by Pankaj Padghan & V.Harikrishna. Sayali Pankaj, Adarsh Shinde & Rohit Raut have rendered their voices for the songs. Sound by Anmol Bhave, DOP Balajee Ranga, choreographers Feroze A Khan, Subhash Nakashe art by Mahesh Salgaonkar & costumes by Salma Sultana Mansuri are the other credits. The other important artistes of this film are, Mohan Joshi. Pradeep Velankar, Vijay Andalkar, Prasad Javade, Uma Sardeshmukh, Anuja Sathe, kanchan Pagare, Sumukhi Pendse & Uday Nene.
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar all praise for Marathi film ‘Police Line’
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has once again come forward to promote a Marathi film ‘Police Line – Ek Purna Satya’ , which has lyrics penned by his elder brother Nitin Tendulkar. Sachin while addressing the group of Policemen, during promotion of this film, has praised this film, for showing the bravery acts and hardships faced by Policemen in their day to day life. “I was really moved, after watching this film, DVD of which was sent to me by my elder brother.” he said.
It may be recalled, that in 2013, when Raju Paresekar released the music of his previous film ‘Sat Na Gat’, Sachin was personally present to release the music CD of this film, besides felicitating brave women, for their achievements in different fields. This time, he has preferred to promote his brother’s film, in this way, which is also good, for film’s promotion.
‘Police Line’ produced by Vaishali pawar & Rupali pawar, is directed by Raju Parsekar and stars Santosh Juvekar, Sayali Sanjeev , Nisha Parulekar, Nutan Jayant, Jayweant wadkar, Pradeep Kabre, Vijay Kadam, Swapnil Rajshekhar in lead roles. The film is all set to release on 5th February 2016.
Cricket to come alive through ‘Well Done Bhalya’
The game of cricket plays a very important role in offering sports entertainment, in our country. The popularity of this game was clearly indicated, when there were grand celebrations by the lovers of this game, when the Indian Cricket team won the Cricket world cup twice i. e. in 1983 and 2011.
Set on the backdrop of this crazy game, producers K. Chaitali, Amol Kale and director Nitin Kamble are offering a new Marathi film ‘ Well Done Bhalya’ , which revolves around an Adivasi boy, for whom cricket is just a passion and he can not live without this game.
The film stars Ramesh Deo, Sanjay Narvekar, Alka Kubal, Mitalee Jagtap, Ganesh Yadav, Sharad Ponkshe, Sanjay Khapre, Anshuman Vichare and others. Child artiste Nandkumar Solkar plays the central role of Bhalya, in this film.
Music by Trupti Chavan and DOP I Giridhar & Sher Singh Rajput are other credits of this film, which will be released soon.
Is Murli Sharma emerging as the new Villain in Marathi films ?
After his marriage to well known actress Ashwini Kalsekar, Murli Sharma is taking keen interest in Marathi language. Till now, we have watched his performance in Marathi films like ‘Ajintha’ and ‘Vijay Aso’. In ‘Poshter Boyz’ he played a cameo along with his wife Ashwini. In his acting career of past 13 years, Murli has performed in about 75 to 80 Hindi, Marathi & South films. But now, he has found a very big role of a main villain, in Sanjay Jadhav’s film ‘Guru’. And, Murli has highly impressed the Marathi film lovers, with his performance and proficiency in Marathi language.
When MarathiMovieWorld.com spoke to him recently, after watching his performance in this film, he thanked Sanjay Jadhav, for considering him suitable, to play this dangerous character of Mansing. Murli was also all praise for Ankush Choudhari, for being so friendly with him, during the course of shooting. “All Marathi artistes are very talented and I really enjoyed working with all of them.” he said. By the way, Murli will also be seen in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Ghantaa’, which is also a very good film, according to him.
‘Ek Albela’ first look gives a glimpse of Bhagwan dada’s life
We are all aware that forthcoming Marathi film ‘Ek Albela’ is a biopic on the life of popular actor Bhagwan Dada. And, the highlight of this film is that well known Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is making her debut in Marathi through this film, playing the role of Geeta Bali. So, obviously, few original songs have to be retained in this film too and the first look of this film, does make this clear. However, it remains to be seen, whether Vidya has her dialogues in Marathi, because the character she is playing is of a Hindi actress.
Now, we also understand that ‘Janiva‘ and ‘Lord of Shingnapur‘ actress Vaibhavi Shandilya is playing the role of Muslim girlfriend of Bhagwan Dada. Going through the first look of this film, it is also observed that some of the scenes are in black n white, to give a realistic look. But, it is also interesting to see, how music director Santosh Mulekar has composed the music of this film, as his music will be compared with the original music of C.Ramachandra. However, producer Monish Babre and Director Shekhar Sartandel are not compromising on perfect set design, for which they have engaged the best art director Baban Adagale, who had designed sets for films like ‘Ramleela’ and ‘Dabang’. They have also engaged the best make up man Vaidhyadhar Bhatte. And, make up for Mangesh Desai noticed in the first look, clearly indicates his perfection. Now, let us wait and see, how this film is promoted, in days to come.
