‘Anuraag’ director Dr. Darak serves notice to Dharmendra Gohil
Many a times, we find controversies arising between the film maker and artistes of his film, before the film’s release. But, in the case of film ‘Anuraag‘ we now hear that the producer-director of this film Dr.Ambarish Darak, serving notice to his lead actor Dharmendra Gohil, after the film’s release, this Friday. Perhaps, the maker of the film, avoided this issue to coincide with his film’s release.
According to the press statement received from Dr. Darak, he had entered into an agreement with Dharmendra Gohil to give his time for the film’s promotion. But, the actor did not show his presence during any event connected with the film’s promotion. It was only the actress Mrunmayee , who was present on all such occasions. Now, with Dr.Darak serving an official legal notice to the actor, through his lawyer, claiming compensation, has set a new precedent. Because, in the past, no Marathi film maker had dared to take such a step against his artistes, for their non co-operation. Let us wait and see , how the actor reacts to this notice.
‘Vrundavan’ artistes promote their film coinciding with Women’s day
Now days, film makers are just waiting for some occasions to promote their film. And, there was no better occasion than Women’s day celebrations. Even otherwise, Maharashtrian women are very fond of Marathi films and their artistes. Thane being the biggest hub of Maharashtrian culture, the makers of ‘Vrundavan‘ selected an ideal occasion to celebrate Women’s day. So, they finalized on the famous Vrundavan Society in Thane, where they saw a big crowd of Marathi women, joining the artistes and the producers, to play various fun games and even performed dances with the lead artistes comprising of Rakesh Bapat, Vaidehi Parshurami & Pooja Sawant.
So, all of them had a great time together to celebrate the Women’s day, in advance. Also, it was a good promotion of the film. Even otherwise, the team of ‘Vrundavan‘ is touring many parts of the state, to promote their film, very much in advance, as the film is all set to release on Gudhi Padwa day, i.e 8th April 2016. Last week, the team was in Pune and received a good response from Pune students.
V. Shantaram’s film ‘Pinjara’ to be released again with new look
V. Shantaram’s most popular film ‘Pinjra‘ was released in 1972. But, the songs of this film are still popular. Even the performances of lead characters like Dr. Shreeram Lagoo, Sandhya & Nilu Phule are still fresh in our memory. The film has been set on the backdrop of a village, presenting Tamasha folk musical theatre of Maharashtra. The story revolves around a morally righteousness school teacher, played by Dr. Lagoo, who wants to reform a Tamasha performer, played Sandhya, but ends up falling in love with her.
Now, after 44 years, ‘Pinjra‘ will be released again on 18th March 2016, at Plaza Cinema , Mumbai, where it was released earlier. Priyadarshni Films, which had taken the distribution rights from Mr. Kiran Shantaram, had used the latest technology at Prasad Lab to give a new look to original print, besides using Dolby sound effect. It remains to be seen, how the the new generation would respond to this film.
Release of ‘Well Done Bhalya’ well–timed
The game of Cricket being the religion of majority of people in our country, films based on cricket are likely to receive response, while the cricket fever is on. With Asia Cricket Cup coming to an end and World Cup T20 Cricket tourney to be held in India, makers of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Well Done Bhalya‘ have well- timed the release of their film on 18th March 2016.
The film’s story is set on the backdrop of a remote village, with a young boy just passionate about this game of cricket. When his hard working father wants his son to study hard to progress in life, this son thinks about nothing, but only cricket. The film presents an emotion filled story of this father and son relationship, showing what the father does to help his son achieve his goal in life. Versatile actor Sanjay Narvekar plays the character of father in this film; while the cricket loving son Bhalya is played by Nandkumar Solkar.
Many well known artistes are part of the film’s star cast, comprising of Grand old man of Marathi films Mr. Ramesh Deo along with Alka Kubal Athlye, Sharad Ponkshe, Mitali Jagtap, Ganesh Yadav, Sanjay Khapre , Anshuman Vichare and others.
Marathi Actor Milind Shinde to make his grand debut in Bollywood
‘Banjo‘ is the name of new Hindi film, made by popular Marathi film maker Ravi Jadhav. We all know that the film stars Riteish Deshmukh and Nargis Fakhri in the lead. But, there is a popular Marathi actor Milind Shinde, who will be making his grand debut in this film, through a prominent role. Ravi Jadhav himself has announced this, on his social networking page today.
Directed by Ravi Jadhav and produced by Krishika Lulla under the Eros International banner, this film is due for release soon. This is also the first Hindi film of Ravi Jadhav, as a director. But, all eyes on Milind Shinde, who has already made his presence felt on Marathi small and big screen. His memorable roles in films like ‘Bayo‘, ‘Paradh‘,’Natarang‘, ‘Baboo Band Bajaa‘ & ‘Touring Talkies‘ brought him name and fame. Milind also directed a Marathi film ‘Nach Tujhach Lagin Haay‘.
With his introduction through ‘Banjo‘, Milind is expected to invite the attention of many Bollywood and South Indian film makers, who are looking for a face which resembled that of popular South & Hindi film villain Rami Reddy, during his younger days. Unfortunately, Rami Reddy is no more. Will his place be taken by Milind Shinde ? let is wait and see. But, his poster released by Ravi Jadhav indicates the same.
‘Bho Bho’ will present Prashant Damle as detective Bonde
Detective stories are not new to Marathi films. But, when a detective is played by an actor like Prashant Damle, it certainly becomes a big news. We have been hearing about this so called murder mystery, to be presented by director Bharat Gaikwad through his film ‘Bho Bho‘. And, with the launch of official poster of this film, he has now confirmed the release of this film as 22nd April 2016.
According to Bharat, this film is a murder mystery revolving around a Dog and hence the title of the film is ‘Bho Bho‘. With a lot of curiosity generated by the makers of this film on social networking sites, with different caricatures, the film has already created a buzz. As a producer and director of this film, Bharat is confident about the film’s success. The other important artistes of the film are Subodh Bhave, Sharad Ponkshe, Ashwini Ekbote, Sanjay Mone, Kishore Chougule, Saurabh Gokhale & Anuja Sathe.
‘Anuraag’ is all set to release on 11th March 2016
The film is based on disturbed relationship between young husband and wife. And, how they find a way to come out of that state of mind, is the theme of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Anuraag‘ written and directed by Dr. Ambrish Darak . The film stars popular Marathi actress Mrunmayee Deshpande and ‘Aga Bai Arechha 2‘ fame Dharmendra Gohil.
Speaking about this film’s story, Dr. Ambrish, who is Eye specialist, says, “I have come across many such couples, from the type of ‘made for each other’ to ‘independent’ type, who were fed up of their married life. Now, why this situation arises. I tried to study and do something for such couples. And, that’s how the story of this film originated.”
The film has been shot at beautiful locations of Leh and Ladakh, where no Marathi film was shot so far. The film’s cinematography is by experienced Suresh Deshmane and the music has been composed by Sameer Mhatre on the lyrics of Guru Thakur. It is interesting to note that Mrunmayee Deshpande has not only played lead role in this film; but, as also assisted the director, besides presenting this film, under the banner of her own Mrunmayee Deshpande Creations. So, let’s wait for this big surprise to come from Mrunmayee on 11th March 2016.
‘Phuntroo’ will test Ketaki Mategaonkar’s real potential
While unveiling the first look of his forthcoming ambitious project ‘Phuntroo‘, Director Sujay Dahake said that when he decided to make this first science fiction in Marathi, he could not think of anyone else, but Ketaki Mategaonkar for the lead role. Needless to say that this is a tailor made role for the slim and beautiful young actress. And, after watching the first look of this film, everybody agreed, to what Sujay had said.
Even producer Krishika Lulla was all praise for Ketaki and said that she had portrayed the role, to the satisfaction of all of them. Having received considerable experience through films like ; ‘Shala‘, ‘Taani‘, ‘Time Pass‘, the singer turned actress is now making her presence felt in Marathi film industry. Thanks to her caring father, who always accompanies her, offering strong moral support, to his multi talented daughter. Now that ‘Phuntroo‘ is all set to release early next month, Ketaki is all excited and just waiting for the film’s release. She is also finding time for the film’s promotion. After all, this film is going to decide her potential as an actress.
Now, Bollywood Comedian Asrani to perform in Marathi film ‘Family 420′
Known for his famous dialogue “Hum Angrezon ke Zamaane ke Jailor hai…” in the Super hit film ‘Sholay’ , actor Asrani has been in this film industry for the past 50 years . At 75 today, he is doing a Marathi film, ‘Family 420′, which is produced by Dev Raj and directed by Santosh Gaikwad. Keeping in mind his image as a comedian, he has been offered a suitable role and Asrani is very happy about it. “The character I am playing in this Marathi film, is totally different from the characters I have played in the past. The most difficult thing in acting, is to make the audience laugh. But, I took up this challenge. “ he said, after signing this film.
Director Santosh Gaikwad also very happy that an actor like Asrani said ‘yes’ to his offer. According to him, the film will deliver a social message, besides making the audience laugh. To join Asrani in this film, will be other popular artistes like Sunil Pal, Upasana Singh, Vijay Kadam, Vijay Patkar, Swapnil Rakshekhar, Harshada Patil, Aashish Newalkar, Sukanya Kulkarni & Geeta Nikharge. Written by Subodh Nagdeve, the film’s music is by Sushil Pendhari.
