‘Baba Retired Zaale’ will be homage to 7/11 blast victims – Nishant Bhuse

Baba Retired Zaale, Marathi Movie

Nishant Bhuse has played a crucial role as an investigative journalist, while reporting the ghastly 7/11 Mumbai serial train blasts by terrorists in 2006. His post blast reports continued to appear in a tabloid, with his analytical stories. Now, Nishant is making a Marathi film suitably titled ‘Baba Retired Zaale’, which has been inspired, after the death of 189th victim of the horrific blast. It may be mentioned that Parag Sawant, the 189th victim of the blast, died recently, after fighting with death for nine years.
Marathi Movie World had a chat with Nishant Bhuse, to know more about this film.

Q: Why did you choose this title of the film ?
A: Actually, I wanted to show, how the family of the victim suffers. Besides showing the tragic account of late Parag Sawant’s life, the film will also be touching compilation of the emotional turmoil in his retired father’s life. I wanted to show, how a helpless father had to deal with our lethargic system, right from the day after the blast, till the day he passed away.

Q: What are the main issues highlighted in the film?
A: I have come across several disgusting human interest stories, which have never come to light. Can you imagine, a family’s futile wait for compensation, after the death of their near and dear ones? A father’s never ending struggle with the system, for the recovery of his son, who battled for years to return to normal life and thereafter succumbing to death? All these issues, I have tried to I flawlessly merge, to recreate the made-up characters.

Q: Have you hired the services of any technical experts on this project ?
A: Most of the technical people engaged in our team are specialists in their respective fields. They include people like, Hardeep Sachdev our DOP , who is winner of the 2008 LA International Photography Award (IPA) and others. We have already taken three years of research and intensive screenwriting, for this film, which will roll with India’s critically acclaimed talents, from Marathi and Hindi film industry.

Q: Now, the poster of your film has been released. What is your next planning ?
A: ‘Baba Retired Zaale’ will go on the floors in the third week of August 2015,with a month long shooting schedule, across actual Mumbai locations. We have also planned to screen this film at renowned international film festivals, including Cannes, Venice, Berlin & Toronto . The film will release in India in 2016.

Spruha Joshi, Marathi Actress in Bioscope Movie

For the past few weeks, we have been watching mass releases of Marathi films and the same will continue , during the last week of July. But, coming Friday, we will notice only one Marathi film, Bioscope‘, which is a collection of four different stories. All the four stories are directed by four different reputed directors from Marathi film industry. One of them, i.e. ‘Mitra’ directed by Ravi Jadhav, which is part of ‘Bioscope’ has already won the national award recently, for the best short film.

Bioscope also presents some of the best talent from Marathi film industry. And, they comprise of Neena Kulkarni, Suhas Palshikar ( Dil E Nadaan) , Smita Tambe, Mangesh Kadam( Bail), Veena Jamkar, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Sandeep Khare( Mitraa) ,Ek Hota Kaau( Kushal Badrike, Spruha Joshi) and many others, who have performed under the able direction of Gajendra Ahire, Girish Mohite, Ravi Jadhav & Viju Mane respectively.

There is one good decision taken by all these dynamic filmmakers. They didn’t back out, only because a Salman Khan film was being released on the same day. And, this is to be highly appreciated. The release of this Marathi film, coming Friday, will only indicate the confidence the Marathi film makers have, about the positive response for their film. According to our sources, the makers of ‘Bioscope‘ had already booked 150 screens in advance, all over Maharashtra and the number is expected to go up.

Seven Marathi films to be released in a gap of eight days

Deool Band, Carry on Maratha, Panhala, Janiva, posters

If Marathi films are making a progress, with good scripts and quality presentation, it does not mean that the film makers should release their films simultaneously, in such a large number. During the last week of July 2015, we are going to notice about 7 Marathi films, lined up for release in two groups . In short, during the period of just 8 days i.e. 24th July till 31st July, seven Marathi films will be released.

On 24th July will see the release of ‘Panhala’, ‘Carry on Maratha’, ‘Manatlya Unhat’ & ‘Vaajalach Pahije – Game Ki Shinma’, while on 31st July ,three more Marathi films, namely, ‘Olakh My Identity’, ‘Deool Band’, & ‘Janiva’ are getting ready to release. The makers of ‘Dhinchak Enterprise’ have however taken a wise decision to postpone their film’s release from 31st July to 21st August 2015, as per reliable sources.

Recently, when we met actor-producer-director Nagesh Bhosale, he expressed his concern over such mass releases. Incidentally, Nagesh Bhosle’s own film ‘Panhala’ is also lined up for release, in this competition. “How can you divide the Marathi audience? This issue, certainly needs attention and I only hope that there is some amicable solution, to avoid competition among Marathi films. It is a big loss to film makers and even audience is getting confused, as to which film to watch. Don’t really think, the common man will be able to watch three or four films a week.” he said, while expressing his frank opinion.

‘Deool Band’ will respect the sentiments of people – Pravin Tarde

Gashmeer Mahajani, Girija Joshi, Mohan Joshi, SwamiThe director duo of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Deool Band’ are trying their best to convince the media persons, that their Marathi film is not a traditional film. “It’s different! When it comes to having faith in God, we have tried to show both sides in the film; but, our intention is not to hurt the sentiments of the people, having such a faith. We are well aware that in our country, majority of the people, belonging to any religion, do have total faith in God. Some people have even tried to remove even that faith, calling it blind faith. There is a big difference between faith and blind faith. This is what we have tried to explain through our movie.” said Mr. Pravin Tarde, who was more vocal, between the two.

The film’s first look unveiled recently, was very appealing. With wonderful photography, good performances, interesting theme, hard hitting dialogues and suitable background music; it only gave a glimpse of what they had in store for the film lovers. With veteran actor Mohan Joshi playing an important role, the film also offers debutant Gashmeer Mahajani, in the role of a young scientist along with beautiful Girija Joshi. ‘DDD’ TV artistes more popular than ‘Tu Hi Re’ film stars

Dil Dosti Duniyadari, Actress, Actor, Serial
Having seen many films on the subject of love and friendship, one more film in Marathi, adds to this list. The master filmmaker Sanjay Jadhav, having made his previous films ‘Duniyadari’ and ‘Pyarwali Love Story’, is now offering one more film, on this subject, suitably titled ‘Tu Hi Re’.

Recently, to unveil the first look of this film, Sanjay along with his big group producers Mrudula Padwal Oza, Shital Kumar Manere, Ashish Wagh, Deepak Rane, Utpal Acharya & Sanjay Ghodawat, had invited media people at Inox, Malad. On this occasion, besides the three lead stars of this film Swapnil Joshi, Sai Tamhankar & Tejaswini Pandit; Sanjay had also invited the artistes from his popular television serial ‘Dil Dosti Duniyadari’.

But, the media camera persons, news reporters and press photographers seemed to be more keen on covering the artistes of Dil Dosti Duniyadari. They not only clicked their photos in a group and solo; but, also took their interviews. Except for Swanandi Tikekar, who could not make it, the other five youngsters who were present stole the show. Amongst them bearded Pushkaraj Chirputkar who plays the role of Ashu, was the main attraction, of the press photographers.

Now, who are more popular? Our Marathi film stars or our Marathi TV artistes ? According to us, obviously the TV stars, as they are reaching every household in Maharashtra. Let’s hope, next time, Sanjay Jadhav while launching his next film’s promotion, will not repeat this mistake.
