Sad demise of film maker Sajay Surkar

Well known Marathi film maker Sanjay Surkar is no more. He suffered a massive heart attack, while shooting for Padmini Kolhapure’s film ‘Lathi’. He was admitted to Ratna Hospital, Pune, but he had breathed his last. His body has been taken to his house and will be kept for Public darshan at Tilak Smarak around 5 pm and thereafter his funeral will take place at Vaikunth Dham, Pune. A national award winning director, Sanjay Surkar had given some of the best Marathi films since 1991 with ‘Chaukat Raja’, followed by the success of ‘Aai Shapath’, ‘Saat Chya Aat Gharat’, ‘Ek daav Sansaracha’, ‘Anandache Zaad’ and ‘Sukhant’.

Mr. Surkar also offered some best TV serials like, ‘Avantika’, ‘Sukannya’ and ‘Oon Paus’. Recently he also directed a Hindi film ‘Standby’ which was Adinath Kothare’s debut as a hero in Hindi films.
