Ganesh Acharya choreographs a song for Marathi film ‘Bedardi’

Every year, during Ganapati Festival, we find songs on Bappa released by forthcoming Marathi films, to popularise them. This year, new Marathi film ‘Bedardi’ recently recorded and picturised a Ganapati song ‘Jo sharan Tula aala…..’at Filmcity . Music of this film is composed by Pravin Kunwar. Lyrics are by Sanjali Rode, while this song has been recorded in the voice of today’s popular singer Jasraj Joshi
The song was picturised on artistes of this film, Arun Nalawade, Omkar Kulkarni, Rajesh Kamle. The choreography of which was done by bollywood’s famous choreographer Ganesh Acharya, who also joined in the song sequence.
‘Bedardi’ , which is being produced under the banner Krystal Films’ by producer Suresh Bhagat and is being directed by debutant Sahil Seth. The film presents a new lead pair in the form of Omkar Kulkarni and Pooja Narang, while Arun Nalawade and Rajesh Kamle will be seen in important supporting roles. The story is by the producer himself and screenplay and dialogues are written by Manish Kulkarni. The film is nearing completion.
Now, another Marathi film to talk about existence of God

Recently, we saw a film ‘Deool band’, which talked about the existence of God and dealt with a story of scientist, who didn’t believe in existence of God. Now, coming Friday, there is one more film ‘Sangati’, dealing with almost a similar type of subject.
Produced by Prashant Singh Hambir and directed by Ramvijay Waman Parab, this film tells the story of a couple, where the husband who is an industrialist is an atheist, while his wife is shown as devotee of Saptashrungi Goddess. The film goes on to show the strange experiences faced by the children of this couple; which ultimately goes on to show, whether God exists or not.
The film stars Satish Pulekar, Jyoti Joshi, Gaurav Ghatnekar & Priya Gamre. Film’s photography is by Pramod Pathak, while the music is composed by Rajesh Naik and Navin More.
Veteran Playwright P L Mayekar passes away

Veteran playwright Prabhakar Laxman Mayekar, passéd away today morning in Pune. He was taking treatment for cancer, for the past two years. Mayekar had written many types of famous Marathi plays, which included social, Humor, suspense, thrillers. He was conferred with ‘Ram Ganesh Gadkari’ award by Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad.
Mr. Mayekar worked for Marathi amateur theatre, for almost a decade and during 80s, he got an opportunity as commercial play writer. During the early day of his career, he has successfully written a many popular one act plays. He has written plays for reputed banners like Chandralekha & Bhadrakali. Some of his famous plays were ‘Godi Gulabi’, ‘Aasu Ani Hasu’, ‘DIpsthamb’, ‘Pandgo Elo Re ba IIlo’ & ‘Raatrani’
‘Paisa’ a new adventure reality show soon on Marathi Television
Film maker Sakar Raut, who has recently completed two Marathi films like ‘Hatke Love Story’ and ‘Shivya’ is presently directing a film ‘Sangharsh Yatra’’, which is a biopic on Late Gopinath Munde. But, besides these three projects, presently he is producing a unique money & adventure based reality show, for Marathi television. In fact, this is the debut of Team SR on Marathi television.
Produced by Golden Petals Films, ‘Paisa’ will present 28 contestants, which will be selected via audition in Mumbai. The entire show is conceptualized by Sakar Raut and will be executed by his team SR. However, nothing has been disclosed about the channel on which this show will be presented.
According to Sakar, the concept of the show is interesting and would present something that has never happened on Marathi television before. “We wanted to do something different and aggressive, with which the youth could relate to. The show is an ideal mix of action and drama & will be entertaining for all age groups.” he said.
Team ‘Marathi Taraka’ entertain Jawans in kargil
Known for his conceptualized song and dance Programme, Producer-director Mahesh Tilekar held a special show of ‘Marathi Taraka’ in Kargil recently, to entertain for the Army Jawans on the border. The army Jawans were offered salute by this Team of ‘Marathi Taraka’ besides tying Raakhis on their wrist.
The show ‘Marathi Taraka’ presented by popular Marathi celebrities, has already become popular both Nationally and internationally. The show has already been staged in the Rashtrapati Bhavan and has also received a lot of appreciation from all the dignitaries from various fields .Performing at Kargil was a challenging , as on their way from Srinagar to Kargil, they faced lot of hurdles; but, the brave girls overcame them all, during their 14 hour long journey.
Actresses, Bhargavi Chirmule, Shweta Shinde, Teja Devkar, Prachi Pisat, Choreographer Subhash Nakashe, Rajesh Bidwe, Cedric D’Souza, Hitesh Patil, Child artiste Aditya Gholap, Vishal Jadhav, presented their performances for the Jawans, who enjoyed it, with claps and whistles. The Jawans also danced with these stars.
Singer Vishwajit Borwankar sang patriotic songs, which became an emotional moment for everyone. Mahesh Tilekar himself compered the programme with excellence. The show was choreographed by Hitesh Patil.
‘Lokmanya – Ek Yugpurush’ World Television Premiere on Zee Marathi

On the occasion of Independence day, Zee Marathi is premiering ‘Lokmanya Ek Yug Purush’. The film will be a special treat to this Independence Day to home viewers. The movie comments on the socio-political situation in India today, with a Voiceover narration in the beginning of the movie, by Nana Patekar in his typical style.
‘Lokmanya, Ek Yugpurush’ is being produced by Neena Raut for Neena Raut Films and is directed by Om Raut. The film has Subodh Bhave playing this challenging role of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
The movie premieres on Zee Marathi today. on 15st August 2015 at 12 noon.
‘3.56 Killari’ is based on earthquake tragedy

Twenty two years ago the deadly earthquake tragedy hit Killari village in Marathwada region, at 3.56 am. And within two minutes many homes were destroyed, killing thousands of people. The after effects of this earthquake, are still heard today. New Marathi film ‘3.56 Killari’ is set on the backdrop of the after effects.
Recently, a press conference of this film was held, when producer Girish Sathe, director Deepak Bhagwat ,costume designer Chaitrali Dongre and child artiste Gauri Ingavale ( the central character of this film) were present. In this film, Sai Tamhankar and Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff are playing important roles. Along with them are other artistes like Shrikant Moghe & Anurag Sharma in prominent roles.
This film which has been made under the banner of DGS entertainment, will be released in 125 theatres across Maharashtra on 21st August 2015.
‘Veer Daudale Saatach’ play to be staged commercially
Love for Marathi plays hasn’t diminished at all, over the years. This has been possible, because of the patronage of established actors and audience equally. Many well known Marathi artistes, started their acting career with experimental plays. This can happen only in Marathi entertainment industry.
Talking about Marathi experimental theatre, a new play in this category, will hit the drama theatres very soon. ‘Veer Daudale Saatach‘ will be a play, directed by Pralhad Kudtarkar, who bagged best director (experimental) trophy, alongside best play, at a recent television awards function. Pralhad Kudtarkar, was an assistant director for a popular Aadesh Bandekar show ‘Home Minister’. He has to his credits Marathi serials, ‘Aambat Goad’, ‘Bhagyalaxmi’, ‘Aabhas Ha’,’ Lakshya’, ‘Ka Re Durava’ as a writer. But , his love for theatre, prompted him to stage Veer Daudle Saatch.
The play is about a Marathi school , deciding to be part of state inter-school dramatic competition and hand over the responsibility to school’s history teacher, who in turn decides to imbibe history through a drama and selects a historical play . Ironically, seven students who happen to be disinterested in history, get selected to act in it. And, what happens next, is all that the play is about.
Veer Daudale Saatach is produced under the banner Rudra Theatre by Sarika Naik and Pallavi Bhojne. Set to be designed by Ajay Pujare and light design will be by Amogh Phadke while background music is to be provided by Samihan. Omkar Bhojne, Ajay Kambli, Abhishek Gaonkar, Sanjay Jamkhandi, Bhagyashri Paane, Santosh Sarode, Priyanka Hande, Ketan Salvi, and Snehal Shidam will be the artistes of this play, to be on staged from 21st August 2015 onwards.
Director Vijay Patkar gets ready with his film ‘Mohor’
‘VG Enterprises’ Chandrakant Pandharinath Pawar & Sangita Gautam Satdive have produced their maiden Marathi film ‘Mohar‘. Renowned actor- director Vijay Patkar has directed this Marathi Film, story of which is written by Rekha Surendra Jagtap , with Screenplay, Dialogue & Lyrics penned by Deepak Bhagwat. Rahul Satdive is the Associated director of this film .
Lead stars of this film are, Sayaji Shinde, Prasad Oak, Aditi Sarangdhar , along with Vijay Kadam, Hemalata Bane, Pritam Patil & Pandurang Phadatare. Two child artistes Prajakta Jagtap & Chaitany Ghadage are also making their acting debut through this film.
‘Mohar‘ will have one Lavani, performed by Manasi Naik, which is choreographed by Deepali Vichare. DOP is Raja Phadatare & Music composition is by Milind More. The songs are sung by talented Belaa Shende, Prasannjit Kosambi, Kavita Nikam, Chang & Sakshi. This film is getting ready for release soon.
Sad demise of legend Bhalchandra Pendharkar

The great Legend of Marathi theatre Bhalchandra Pendharkar is no more. He passed away today morning at a private hospital in Mumbai. Bhalchandra Vyankatesh alias Anna Pendharkar was being treated for sometime in the hospital, due to some health problem. But, he could not respond to the treatment due to old age. He was 94. His body was kept at Yashwant Natya Mandir, Matunga, for the last public viewing, to enable his admirers to pay tributes.
Anna , who was a singer ,actor, producer, was born on 25th November 1921 . He looked after LalitKalaDarsh’ theatre Group formed by late Keshavrao Bhosale, like his own child. He had taken charge of this group at the age of 17. Today, this group has completed 107 years. The group had presented many popular plays, including revival of old plays. Many prominent personalities like Lata Mangeshkar, Chittaranjan Kolhatkar, Chandrakant Gokhale and many others,
Bhalchandra Pendharkar had won many prestigious awards, including Sangeet Natak kala Academy(2004) and the Maharashtra State Lifetime award in 2008. MarathiMovieworld.com pays sincere tributes to his departed soul and offer deep condolence to his family members.
