‘Ek Hazarachi Note’ turns more richer

Sandeep Pathak, Pooja NayakAt the recently concluded 45th International Film Festival of India, IFFI, in Goa, Infinitum Production’s Marathi film ‘Ek Hazarachi Note’ won, not only one, but two awards. One of them being the Special Jury Award and another being newly constituted in 2012, The Centenary award. This award has been included on completion of 100 years of Indian cinema and instituted for a feature film, that reflects a new paradigm in motion pictures, in terms of aesthetics, technique or technical innovation.

This honour includes a silver peacock, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. One million. ‘Ek Hazarachi Note’ is directed by debutant director Shrihari Sathe and story is by Shrikant Bojewar, which is set against the backdrop of farmers’ suicide in the Vidharbha region of Maharashtra, India.

‘Viva’ girl Neha Bhasin’s first Marathi song

Lyrics of the said song has been penned by Ashwini Shende. Music director has reported to have said about Neha that she has done this club song with a lot of attitude and positive vibes, according to the requirement of the song, and this song will appeal to young generation a lot.

Avatarachi Goshta all set to release on December 26

Mihiresh Joshi, Yash KulkarniThe much acclaimed Marathi movie, ‘Avatarachi Goshta’ produced by Asian Entertainment, has released their first teaser and are ready to hit the theatres across Maharashtra on December 26, 2014.

‘Avatarachi Goshta’ has been honoured with Zee Gaurav 2014, under the Best Film, Best Story, Best Dialogue and Best Supporting Actress categories. Leena Bhagwat in particular , has received the award for best supporting actress. Also at the 51st Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards 2014 and at Sahyadri Cine Awards 2014, this movie was felicitated with Best Film, Best Story and Best Child Artiste awards .

The movie revolves around the debutant child Mihiresh Joshi (enacting as Kautusbh) and Yash Kulkarni (enacting as Mangya). The story is about their imaginative world of Dashavtar, which is full of wonders and adventures. All artists in the movie have justified their characters with their power packed performances. The screen space is shared by Adinath Kothare, Sulabha Deshpande, Sunil Abhyankar, Leena Bhagwat and Rashmi Khedekar, along with a special appearance of well known actor Ashish Vidyarthi.

The captain of the ship Nitin Dixit has directed and also written story, screenplay and dialogues for the movie, produced by Sachin Salunke. Cinematography by Nagraj Diwakar, editing by Mayur Hardas & music manned by Gandhaar are other credits.

Renuka Shahane gives the clap for ‘Ek Cutting’ Muhurat

People are used to these words, while ordering tea at small tea stalls, scattered all over the country. Now, a new Marathi film is being made with the name of ‘Ek Cutting’, which is produced by Rekha Karan Kuril and directed by Pramod Kamble.

Recently, the muhurat of this film was held in Mumbai, when well known actress Renuka Shahane gave the clap, for the muhurat shot. At present, the shooting of this film is going on and the makers wish to release this film, as soon as the shooting is over.

The film’s star cast comprises of Mangesh Desai, Pandharinath Kamble (paddy), Vikram Gaikwad, Nupur Parulekar and Nayan Jadhav. Music of this film is composed by newcomer Sachin Bhangre.

Kunal’s voice for a love song, in a suspense thriller

Kunal Ganjawala, Anandi JoshiPopular singer from Bollywood, Kunal Ganjawala, who also lends his voice to other regional languages including Marathi, has recently recorded a marathi song for a new upcoming Marathi movie ‘1234‘. His grandmother is a Maharashtrian, hence Kunal is familiar with the nuances of Marathi language. The makers of this film after lots of brainstorming, finally decided to have this Only song, that too, a love song, recorded in Kunal Ganjawala’s voice along with Anandi Joshi. Director Milind Kavade is extremely pleased with the outcome, because of the minute detailing in the voice, though convoluted.

It’s amazing to be able to be part of this type of composition, with flowing lyrical words of Sachin Andhare conducive to a very melodious tune by music director, AmitRaj, which automatically compels you to raise the bar,” Kunal Ganjawala is believed to have expressed. This love song has been filmed on Bhushan Pradhan and Priya Marathe at Ramoji film city.

‘1234’s story screenplay and direction is by Milind Arun Kavade, who has to his credit, ‘Yedyanchi Jatra, 4 Idiots & Gammat’. This film is being produced by Shailesh Pawar’s banner Sheetal Film Productions along with Kalpesh Patel’s banner K P Cinevision. The cast looks impressive as well as interesting, as most of the known comedy artists being garnered, inclusive of Sanjay Narvekar, Pradip Patwardhan, Vijay Kadam and Vijay Patkar.

Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal pays homage to their beloved ‘Tatya’

To pay homage to this great actor and human being, Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal had arranged a ‘Shradhanjali’programme on 18th Nov ’14. Newly appointed ABMCM Director, Vijay Patkar, introduced the dignitaries on the dais to all . Govind Nihalani reminisced “I got to know more about his humane side after spending more time with him. He was no doubt a talented artist but more credible thing is that he was also involved in social work even before he entered this field.’ Johhny Lever, comedy artist, commented that apart from being a good human being he was a great friend, who had a humorous side too. Anil Awachat remembered him saying that he used to go out of the way to help friends and others alike. “When I was hospitalised a few years ago, he came all the way to Pune to nurse me for three days and mind you, he had a very busy shooting schedule.” He added. “Amrapurkar always helped and backed our movement wholeheartedly,’commented Anti Superstition activist, Avinash Patil.

Well known entity for his performances in Hindi as well as Marathi films, he had many awards to his credit, a few being, Filmfare award for his role, directed by noted Govind Nihalani, who introduced Sadashiv Amrapurkar in a film Ardha Satya, in 1983 and in 1991 again a Filmfare trophy for the, first time introduced category, Best Actor in a Negative Role for his empowering role in ‘Sadak’. He has done more than 300 films in various languages and was actively involved in social work, working towards betterment of less fortunates.

Marathi theatre director, Vijay Kenkre, opined that a difficult task of directing and acting a lead role on stage, was effortlessly done by Sadashiv Amrapurkar and remembered his landmark roles on stage in, ‘ Suryachi Pille’ and ‘Hands Up’. From journalist fraternity Nikhil Wagle said, ‘He was never afraid to raise his voice against violation of any law or rule of the land. He played a very positive impact full role in dousing the flare in that infamous 92-93 riots. He was a 100% pure human being’. Honourable minister Shri Vinod Tawade said ‘We were in touch, due to his social work and found him to have great foresight on social issues and he always used to insist, “don’t fulfil demands but fulfil necessities.”

Besides Pune, Mumbai, Thane, there were voters from major cities/centres like Nagpur, Kolhpur, Akola, Latur, Aurangabad, Nashik, Delhi, Kolkatta, Goa and also from countries like Canada & UK.

Compared to last year, maximum voting took place in television category . However, there was less response in ‘Theatre Section’. The only reason may be, because Marathi Commercial plays haven’t gone beyond Mumbai, Thane & Pune. We however thank all our viewers, for their overwhelming response, at a short notice.
