Pallavi Subhash is the other girl in “Happy Journey”

Pallavi Subhash has been chosen as the 2nd lead girl in “Happy Journey” produced by Everest Entertainment. Auditions were underway for this role in Mumbai and Pune. Pallavi Subhash has been shuffling between Mumbai and Chennai as she is shooting for a South Indian film directed by Gautam Menon. In her busy schedule she flew down from Chennai auditioned for “Happy Journey” and flew back to Chennai. She joins the illustrious cast list of Happy Journey comprising of Atul Kulkarni and Priya Bapat. Pallavi was chosen on the basis of her ravishing beauty and innocent looks required for this particular she is going to essay in Happy Journey. Pallavi Subhash is a popular actress having acted in quite a few television serials both Hindi & Marathi, several TV commercials as well as feature films. She has been highly appreciated for her work.
The shooting for the film has already commenced in Pune and is also going to be shot in Goa in the month of January, 2014. The film is scheduled to release in mid 2014. The film is going to see a very young and energetic crew taking the mantle of various departments.

Makers of ‘Premacha Jholjhal’ announce their next film

Producers of Marathi film ‘Premacha Jholjhal’ Mr. Siddhant Pilani & Seema Upadhyay shared the success of their film’s 50 days, by felicitating other successful film makers of 2013, besides felicitating their entire team recently. On this occasion, they also made announcement of their next film, with Siddharth Jadhav in lead role.

‘Khara Saangu Khota Khota’ all set to release on 20th Dec 2013

Two great actors from Marathi film industry Ashok Saraf and Sayaji Shinde are all set to confront each other from 20th December 2013, through new Marathi film ‘Khara Sangoo Khota Khota’. Needless to say that it will be a non stop comedy film, in the company of Marathi’s Queen of Comedy Nirmiti Sawant. In this film, both Ashok Saraf and Sayaji Shinde are playing traditional rivals Dhandalgaonkar and DhandlePatil resp, living in the neighbourhood in the same village. Always wanting to prove their supremacy in the village, both of them are in for a surprise; when they come to know that their grown up children, studying in the same college of the nearest city, fall in love with each other.
To add further twist to their love story, in comes a spinster matchmaker Nani Saranjame,to add more flavour to this fun filled recipe cooked by the youngsters Dushyant and Yashashree, played by Analesh Desai and Trishala Shah. Based on the novel ‘Tujha majha Zamena’ written by Ramchandra Sadekar, the film is directed by Sanjeev Naik. The film is a musical action comedy, with four melody filled songs penned by Aarti Desai and composed by evergreen Shrirang Aras.
The film’s beautiful locations at Mumbai, Wai, Satara, Mahabaleshwar and Konkan have been captured by cinematographer Manjunath B Nayaka, with perfect editing by Sanjeev Nayaka and Umesh Rane. Hemangi Velankar and Deepjyoti naik play supporting roles in this film, which is produced by Sarav Films and presented by Abhiruchi Films.
Three new Marathi films to compete among themselves

Year 2013 will be soon coming to an end and we find many Marathi films, lined up for release. This week, as many as three Marathi films are being released, creating a competition among themselves for theatre availability. Luckily for them, there are no big banner Hindi films releasing simultaneously; but, recently released ‘Mangalasthaka’ and ‘Pitrurun’ are still receiving good response at some of the theatres in Mumbai and Pune. So, it remains to be seen, how the Marathi audience would respond to these three films, which are offering different subjects.
While ‘Majhya Navryachi Bayko (MNB)’ starring Bharat Jadhav, Deepali Sayed and Smita Gondkar hints at a traditional comedy, the other film ‘Mee aani U’ starring Bhushan Pradhan, Sai Lokur and others, seems to have been inspired by Hollywood film ‘Just like Heaven’. And the third film ‘Angarki’, as the title suggests, is obviously on the backdrop of Lord Ganesha. Makarand Anaspure and Tejaswini Pandit are the lead stars of this film, with Tejaswini making her comeback to Marathi films, after her marriage.
New Marathi film ‘1909’ to revive history

Based on the life of young freedom fighter Anant Kanhere, new Marathi film ‘1909’ is all set to release on 10 January 2014. A grand premiere of this film has been organised on 21st December 2013 at historic Vijayanand Theatre, Nashik. It may be recalled that it was at this historical venue, 17 year old freedom fighter Anant had killed collector Jackson, giving a new twist to the freedom movement of India.
Producer Ajay kambli and his director brother Abhay kambli are offering this sensational creation. Recently, first look of this film was released in presence of former Indian High Commissioner to Canada, Mr. Shivshankar Gawai, whose grandfather-Mr. Nanasaheb Gawai was part of the freedom movement of Veer Savarkar. The film stars Akshay Shimpi, Rohan Pednekar, Shrikant Bhide, Shrinivas Joshi, Shubhankar Ekbote, Chetan Sharma, Amit Vaze and many others, who are making their debut through this film.
Atul and Priya come together in ‘Happy Journey’

After the success of ‘Time Please’, Everest Entertainment have announced their next Marathi film ‘Happy Journey’ starring two extremely talented actors like Atul Kulkarni and Priya Bapat in lead roles. The name of one more actress in this film, is yet to be announced.
The film will be shot at Pune and picturesque locations of Goa and will be targeted at young audience. Mr. Sanjay Chhabriya of Everest Entertainment, is busy finalising the other team members for this film and expects good support from young audience.
Music of Ravi Jadhav’s film ‘Time Pass’ released

After attaining success with films like ‘Natarang’, ‘Balgandharva’ and ‘BP’, director Ravi Jadhav is getting ready to release his next film ‘Time Pass'( TP) during the new year, i.e.on 3rd January 2014. Recently, this film’s music was released in presence of artistes and special invitees.
Presented by Zee talkies, ‘TP’ is a musical love story of Dagadu and Prajakta, played by BP fame Prathamesh Parab and Kaksparsha fame Ketaki Mategaonkar. The other star cast of the film comprises of Vaibhav Mangale, Bhalachandra kadam, Meghana Erande, Uday Sabnis, Supriya Pathare, Bhushan Pradhan & Urmila kanitkar.
The film’s music is by Chinar Mahesh and cinematography is by Vasudev Rane.
Renowned Marathi actor Vinay Apte is no more

Renowned Marathi actor Vinay Apte is no more. His end came today in Mumbai. Mr. Ate was treated recently at Ambani Hospital for breathing problem. For the past 35 years, he has been in the field of entertainment with fine performances on Marathi and Hindi stage, television and films. Recently, he was seen in Prakash Jha’s film ‘Satyagraha’. In Marathi, he played prominent role in award winning Marathi film ‘Jogwa’. He became popular among TV viewers with his hit serial ‘Partner’. He had also formed his own stage group ‘Ganarang’. He also produced and directed many stage plays. Many popular Marathi artistes have received acting training from him.
His Marathi play ‘Kabaddi kabaddi’ had become very popular in the recent past. He was also part of popular Marathi serial Eka Lagnachi Doosari Goshta’ where he played the father of leading lady Mukta Barve. His ongoing Marathi serial was ‘Durva’. He was a favourite of Bollywood director Prakash Jha, who offered him important roles in his films. Besides ‘Satyagraha’, Vinay was also part of his films ‘Aarakshan’ and ‘Rajneeti’.Vinay was also part of Madhur Bhandarkar’s award winning film ‘Chandani bar’. He had also performed in many other Bollywood films. Marathi Movie World prays that his soul to rest in peace.
New Marathi Play ‘To Albela’ offers a bold subject

Written by Swapnil Gangurde & directed by Milind Inamdar, Vijaya Productions new Marathi play ‘To Albela’ offers a bold subject, which revolves around an artist, who is a great admirer of M.F.Hussain. After shifting to a room in a Mumbai chawl, he wants to paint a portrait of a lady in the neighbourhood. But, she is reluctant. The owner of these rooms in chawl, is also trying to make advances towards the same lady. In spite of suffering this harassment, the lady doesn’t complain to the police and the artist does not like this attitude of the lady. But, the lady soon becomes friendly with the artist.
Soon, the artist faces opposition from the society. The play has tried to present this conflict , under the direction of Milind Inamdar. The lead performers in this play are : Dr.Raja Narsapurkar, Anand Prabhu, Yogesh Markade & Shweta Pendse. The play has been inviting attention of audience in Mumbai.
Shreyas Talpade to play Superhero in new Marathi film ‘Baji’

We have witnessed the craze of a Superhero through English Comic books and Hollywood films. Later, we also noticed, how our Bollywood tried to popularise some of their films on Superheroes, through merchandising and promotion on social networking sites. Now, be prepared to witness our own superstar Shreyas Talpade , playing a Marathi Superhero ‘Baji’ in a forthcoming Marathi film, to be jointly produced by Dar Motion Pictures, Indian Magic Eye and Blue Drop Films.
Shreyas will be making a comeback to Marathi films, through this unusual film, which is likely to inspire Marathi film lovers. Marathi Movie World spoke to Surhud Godbole, of Indian Magic Eye, to know more about this project and the young film maker spoke about their ambitious project. “We have made announcement of this film is about a Superhero, who is not the type of characters you have seen in Bollywood and Hollywood. He will not be presented with those six pecks; but will be different and strong enough to inspire our Marathi audience, from all age groups.” said Surhud.
The story of ‘Baji’ is written by Surhud himself along with Nikhil Mahajan( ‘Pune 52′ fame) of Blue Drop Films. Nikhil will also be directing this film. The dialogues is to be written by Shrirang Godbole. According to Surhud, besides the story of this film and presentation, they will also work hard towards marketing of the film, almost on the lines of Bollywood and Hollywood, using merchandise and other marketing strategies, to promote their film next year. So, just wait for the announcement of other stars of this Film.
